Glorify Your Son, that Your Son also may glorify You. The work of the saints cannot bring glory to themselves, but to Our Heavenly Father. We manifest His Name to the world. Matthew 5:16 Let your light so shine before men, that they may see your good works and glorify your Father in heaven. 1 John 2:10 He who loves his brother abides in the light, and there is no cause for stumbling in him. John 13:35 By this all will know that you are My disciples, if you have love for one another. Thoughts? Other relevant verses? The eternal life given to the Elect in this life, bring to light the glory of God by manifesting His Name in the world. Matthew 11:27 All things have been delivered to Me by My Father, and no one knows the Son except the Father. Nor does anyone know the Father except the Son, and the one to whom the Son wills to reveal Him. John 6: 37 All that the Father gives Me will come to Me, and the one who comes to Me I will by no means cast out. 38 For I have come down from heaven, not to do My own will, but the will of Him who sent Me. 39 This is the will of the Father who sent Me, that of all He has given Me I should lose nothing, but should raise it up at the last day. 40 And this is the will of Him who sent Me, that everyone who sees the Son and believes in Him may have everlasting life; and I will raise him up on the last day. But now I am coming to you, and these things I speak in the world, that they may have my joy fulfilled in themselves. Just as He spoke in the first chapter of Genesis. In Genesis He was probably standing outside of the world while creating, by speaking, but in John 17 He is standing inside His own creation while creating.

I have finished the work which You have given Me to do. Verse 3 stands in stark contrast against the rejection that many will receive: "I never knew you". John 6: 28 Then they said to Him, “What shall we do, that we may work the works of God?” 29 Jesus answered and said to them, “This is the work of God, that you believe in Him whom He sent.” If you believe in the ones who have been sent, then you believe that the work that you are chosen to perform is specific and discernible. Ephesians 2:10 For we are His workmanship, created in Christ Jesus for good works, which God prepared beforehand that we should walk in them. Were the apostles sent to simply provide doctrine, or be living examples for those who would pursue a life of godliness? 1 Corinthians 9:1 Am I not an apostle? Am I not free? Have I not seen Jesus Christ our Lord? Are you not my work in the Lord? Follow godly example, become a godly example 1 Peter 5:1 The elders who are among you I exhort, I who am a fellow elder and a witness of the sufferings of Christ, and also a partaker of the glory that will be revealed: 2 Shepherd the flock of God which is among you, serving as overseers, not by compulsion but willingly, not for dishonest gain but eagerly; 3 nor as being lords over those entrusted to you, but being examples to the flock; 4 and when the Chief Shepherd appears, you will receive the crown of glory that does not fade away. Every time I wholeheartedly walk the path set before me by the One in whom I believe, I found myself living the life of a servant. Never a fun time, but always a full time. This is what it means to believe in the Lord Jesus Christ, to live the life that He chooses. Luke 22: 27 For who is greater, he who sits at the table, or he who serves? Is it not he who sits at the table? Yet I am among you as the One who serves. +++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++ 2 Timothy 3: 10 But you have carefully followed my doctrine, manner of life, purpose, faith, longsuffering, love, perseverance, 11 persecutions, afflictions, which happened to me at Antioch, at Iconium, at Lystra—what persecutions I endured. And out of them all the Lord delivered me. (This is to know Him, as your deliverer) 12 Yes, and all who desire to live godly in Christ Jesus will suffer persecution. 13 But evil men and impostors will grow worse and worse, deceiving and being deceived. 14 But you must continue in the things which you have learned and been assured of, knowing from whom you have learned them. Malachi 3:18 Then shall ye return, and discern between the righteous and the wicked, between him that serves God and him that serves him not. Thanks but.. the 1st post you took what 4 different single verses trying to say what? Oh I fully agree as the word says no man will glory in His sight that all glory praise, thanks are His and His alone AMEN! The 3rd time "Verse 3 stands in stark contrast against the rejection that many will receive". "I never knew you". Taken out of context. Heard this for over 55y in the lord. So many times you can say "let me guess your not one of the goats. Nor is mom or dad or sis/brother or our kids or grandparents nor all the 12/120/3000 that have died and are now with the Father". For me to just get to that point He had to rise me from the dead. Well its written... And all who dwell on the earth will worship him, everyone whose name has not been written from the foundation of the world in the book of life of the Lamb who has been slain. Its written those that just don't worship will be killed. Those and all those other believers that have died are the ones whos names are written in the lambs book.. the ones He knows. For me its unwise to just take this verse that verse and put them together because we can make it say anything we want. Each verse there was over verses before it and after. It was never written with chapters and verses.

Oh I fully agree as the word says no man will glory in His sight that all glory praise, thanks are His and His alone AMEN! To say what? Jesus brought glory to His Father by His Words and Works. Jesus taught His disciples to do the same by their good works. He describes this as "letting your (one another, together) light shine. John teaches that to love one another is to "abide in the light". Jesus taught that this is how others know that we are disciples. Not complicated. If you need context, open your Bible. If you think bringing glory to the Lord or the Father involves the lip service of saying "glory to God!", you are far from the truth. Do you even understand what "stark contrast" means" Jesus states that eternal life is to know the Father and the Son. If you need the context for the statement "I never knew you", you have no business lecturing me. On 2/25/2024 at 3:45 PM, TheBlade said: Heard this for over 55y in the lord. How have I made the scriptures "say what I want"? Have you read the NT and seen how often a single scripture is quoted? Not a revelation that the original documents lacked chapter and verse. Something to be thankful for in my opinion, for it makes it easier for us to be "more noble" in how we evaluate someone's teaching. Try it some time. Acts 17: 10 And the brethren immediately sent away Paul and Silas by night unto Berea: who coming thither went into the synagogue of the Jews. 11 These were more noble than those in Thessalonica, in that they received the word with all readiness of mind, and searched the scriptures daily, whether those things were so. I have finished the work which You have given Me to do. 5 And now, O Father, glorify Me together with Yourself, with the glory which I had with You before the world was. The Son of God surrendered His rightful glory to be found "in the fashion of a man", and prepares to return to that glory. Philippians 2: 6 Who, being in the form of God, thought it not robbery to be equal with God: 7 But made himself of no reputation, and took upon him the form of a servant, and was made in the likeness of men: 8 And being found in fashion as a man, he humbled himself, and became obedient unto death, even the death of the cross. 9 Wherefore God also hath highly exalted him, and given him a name which is above every name: 10 That at the name of Jesus every knee should bow, of things in heaven, and things in earth, and things under the earth; 11 And that every tongue should confess that Jesus Christ is Lord, to the glory of God the Father.
