question about spiritual gifts

I went to a Women's Minsitry meeting recently. We ladies took a test to see where our strong points were as far as gifts or talents for ministy. Mine was help and mercy. What do you do with those gifts?

THere is a website that you can go to and take the test. At this website is also a list of Spiritual gifts. You can read about "help" & "mercy". I think what you do with these gifts are to use them in your church. I happen to be a mercy too. ANd you can utilize these gifts in your church, in your neighborhood, or whatever. Taking the test just tells you what gifts you have so you know better where you fit in the "body". And how you can help wherever you see a need.

You know, the Scriptures tell us that the 'old ladies' (sorry, that's the language Paul used!!!), should teach the young ladies HOW to properly love their husbands. We men are really pretty simple, and if you teach the new wives how to keep house, and pretend to actually respect the simpletons they're married to, they'll make happy homes!

A test to find out what your gifts are???

There is no magic formula or spiritual gift test that can tell you exactly what your spiritual gift is. The Holy Spirit distributes the gifts as He determines.

Now to each one the manifestation of the Spirit is given for the common good. To one there is given through the Spirit the message of wisdom, to another the message of knowledge by means of the same Spirit, to another faith by the same Spirit, to another gifts of healing by that one Spirit, to another miraculous powers, to another prophecy, to another distinguishing between spirits, to another speaking in different kinds of tongues, and to still another the interpretation of tongues. All these are the work of one and the same Spirit, and he gives them to each one, just as he determines. 1 Corinthians 12:7-11

God calls us to obediently serve Him. He will equip us with whatever gift(s) we need to accomplish the task(s) He has called us to. These tests might be helpful to learn what areas we may be gifted, but they do not mean that we have those spiritual gifts. But since He is the One Who gives the gifts, He is the One we should be asking as to how we are gifted spiritually. Far too many people who believe they have a certain gift, or gifts, tend to concentrate on those areas and miss many other areas to serve God in. It's good not to be ignorant as to what our gift(s) may be, but it's far more important to not be so concentrated on it that we miss serving God in other ways.

know yopur gifts is important because many people dont feel they have any < eventhough they do. when they realize that they have them they are more likely to give God the glory for the work they are doing and they are more happy and fullfilled doing the work of God .

Hey guys.

I checked out the test. It is a pretty good test. If you answer every question truthfully and reflectively, it can be very accurate.

I do feel that the test was created by men lead by the Spirit. There is a problem however....

Since the test is taken by ourselves...we can be fooled by Satan. Say a brother's gift is in giving. But he takes the test and it says he's a prophet. The brother's true gift is giving but he would rather be a prophet. When he took the test he lied to himself so the results would show that his gift is prophecy. In this manner, the brother lied to himself in his mind where Satan has his stronghold.

So then, because of this test the brother becomes a false prophet.

This is the danger of taking any test to find out what spiritual gift we have. The test given here, I believe is very accurate in describing the characteristics of the people with these gifts. But be on the lookout....it is still better to seek the Lord and have Him answer you. It may very well be through this test or by some other means.

To manifest your gift and the fruits of it....simply be in Christ everyday. You reallly don't need to know what your gift is. Just live out Christ and it will be manifested.
