After sunset on the 14 of Nissan the specific time the 14 day starts at sunset on the end of Preparation day.

That makes the Calendar correct to a tee.

It said Nissan 14 at sunset of the end of Preparation day at about 6:pm in

Sabath Day is the 16 beginning from 6:pm on Friday to 24 hours to 6:00 pm on Saturday when Sunday starts the 17 day of Nissan.

Friday the 15th ends the time Sabath Day begins at 6:00 pm on Friday.

And Friday the Passover day  starts the time the Thursday the 14th ends at 6:00 pm our time on Thursday the beginning of twilight time. (From sunset to sun rise) their days began at Sunset. This is the beginning of the 14 of Nissan at the Sunset on Thursday evening that makes the Preparation day to begin 24 hours before that from 6:00 pm on Wednesday to 24 hours 6:00 pm on Thursday evening at sunset the beginning of the twilight time of the Passover.  The calendar is correct. With the Leviticus day time.

The day begins at sunset and for 24 hours.

Nissan the 14 Friday begins at 6:00 pm on Thursday and twenty four hour before that is the Preparation day. Six hours before is 12 noon time another six hours before is 6:00 suppose Sunrise. This is twelve hours in the Preparation day another six hours before is midnight for us for Wednesday to Thursday. Now we need six more hours to complete 24 for the Preparation day to know when it starts and that will be from midnight to 6 o' clock or 6:00 pm Wednesday the beginning of the Preparation day. A day is 24 hours. And will end on 6: pm or sunset on Thursday the Preparation day with the sunset on Thursday the Passover starts the 14th of Nissan Starts the beginning of twilight at sunset. To see the Calendar correct needs to see it with the beginning of the day the 14th at the twilight the beginning of the twilight that is the end of the Preparation day at twilight.

We start at midnight but they start the day 6 hours earlier at 6:pm at that time of the year the sunset could be around 7:pm.

I would not get too hung up on when the start of a day begins because even the NT writers did not follow evening starts a new day.  See the following scripture

In the end of the sabbath, as it began to dawn toward the first [day] of the week, came Mary Magdalene and the other Mary to see the sepulchre. [Mat 28:1 KJV]

The passage says that sunrise was the start of a new day.

The passage says that they were about twelve hours on the 16 day of Nissan which it is the day after the Sabbath day, on the first day of the week, which is Sunday.  They kept their time and not ours. From the time Jesus was crucified they had high Holidays which lasted two days one for the Passover Thursday the 14th of Nissan and then Sabbath the 15th of Nissan Sunday the 16th of Nissan.  The Calendar is not correct to say Sunday the 17th and Saturday the 16th and Friday the Nissan Day the 15th and preparation the 14th definitely one day wrong ahead of the Jewish Calendar.

We don't know for a 100% what calendar they used for certian.  Historians say they would have most likely used the Roman calendar system since they were under roman rulership but may have also used the Jewish calendar for certain internal events same as they due today.

It was not based on a specific time as you say but based on when the sun went down.  That time changes throughout the season.  The sun does not go down at the same time each day.  During that time people did not have personal watches.

I got the days wrong, this is one of the earliest post which I revisited and the 16th is for Sunday the 15th for Saturday and the 14th for the Passover day that makes the 13th the preparation day which that year was Thursday. Begins at sunset on Wednesday. At about 12 hours on Thursday at about 6am our time we have the sunrise of Thursday day and after twelve hours at 6:00 pm on Thursday at sunset Thursday ends the preparation day ends and Friday begins the 14th of Nissan the Passover day. After 24 hour at 6:00 pm our time, about, the 15th day of Nissan begins the Sabath Day which ends on the Sunset on the Sabath Day and Sunday stars at that time at 6:00 pm,  about. Always six hours before our time at 12:00 midnight when the New Calendar day starts. Always our calendar day starts in April six hours, about later than them at 12:00 midnight.

They used their Religious Levitical Calendar 100% sure it cannot be otherwise because it was also their religious Calendar and sets the Starts of their Sabath and their Religious Holidays.  Religiously were following the Calendar in the book of Leviticus. It had nothing to do with their religion the Roman or Egyptian Calendar.  We when we celebrating the Christian Passover of Jesus Christ the Slain Lamb of God we follow the Passover of the Jews with a Christian twist that Jesus Christ is the Lamb of our Passover. And they Christians called it Pasha and still called it Passha till today but the west as in England the English who were evangelige the seven Century and the Germans also to be different to trick the still Idolatrers to attend and learn about the passion of Christ.

The Saxxons call it Easter because it was a Celebration from the religion which came from the East. They did not want to name it Passha but they call it that when at first were converted to Catholics.

Later on they and the Germas across their Iland wanting to become independent and split fron the Catholic church they change many things to create a uniqueness and formed their own Bishops. The Anglican church split from Rome and the Lutheran and other groups.

Your days are still off.

First I would like to say, Its funny how early today you were defending Good Friday as the day Jesus died and then rose  before Sunday morning which is less than 1.5 days in the grave to this new view and now act like you are a subject matter expert on this topic.  lol

Being that Jesus was crucified on the preparation day (13th of Nisan) before Passover (14th of Nisan) and was placed into the tomb BEFORE the sun went down in order to avoid defiling the high sabbath/Passover day.  (We know that Jesus died around 3pm aka ninth hour) Therefore, Jesus was placed in the tomb somewhere between 3pm and sunset.  Had to be before sunset to avoid defiling the high Sabbath.

The Jews therefore, because it was the preparation, that the bodies should not remain upon the cross on the sabbath day, (for that sabbath day was an high day,) besought Pilate that their legs might be broken, and [that] they might be taken away. [Jhn 19:31 KJV]

This would mean on the evening of 16th of Nisan(Sat/Sabbath) before sunset would be the 3rd full day and would be the day he rose from the grave, because when the women who brought spices to the tomb on Sunday before sunrise said he was not there meaning the resurrection had already happened before they arrived.

I am not ready to deal with it now. Tomorrow I will.

I don't understand why you like to make jokes for the Pasover Holiday. The Muslim people they respect other people's religious Holidays and most of them they do not make jokes like that. But then you are not alone in this.

Don't you know that Jesus told the disciples to continiou celebrating the Passover but with a new twist. The Jewish believers never stopped celebrating the Passover together with the ethnic believers who joined them and they wanted to experience the last supper Jesus had with the disciples and the good news of his resurrection and of course it must have included his death on the Cross. Without the story of his death on the Cross how can we celebrate the resurrection.

Sorry you took some offence - I was merely trying to point out the silliness of things like eggs, rabbits and Santa Claus being incorporated into these celebrations.

Thank you for the post. I have to study it. Earlier I spoke about something and later was seeking to corect my thinking.

Now I need to carefully study.

    • You are coming up higher in this season – above the assignments of character assassination and verbal arrows sent to manage you, contain you, and derail your purpose. Where you have had your dreams and sleep robbed, as well as your peace and clarity robbed – leaving you feeling foggy, confused, and heavy – God is, right now, bringing freedom back -- now you will clearly see the smoke and mirrors that were set to distract you and you will disengage.

Right now God is declaring a "no access zone" around you, and your enemies will no longer have any entry point into your life. Oil is being poured over you to restore the years that the locust ate and give you back your passion. This is where you will feel a fresh roar begin to erupt from your inner being, and a call to leave the trenches behind and begin your odyssey in your Christ calling moving you to bear fruit that remains as you minister to and disciple others into their Christ identity.

This is where you leave the trenches and scale the mountain to fight from a different place, from victory, from peace, and from rest. Now watch as God leads you up higher above all the noise, above all the chaos, and shows you where you have been seated all along with Him in heavenly places where you are UNTOUCHABLE. This is where you leave the soul fight, and the mind battle, and learn to fight differently.

You will know how to live like an eagle and lead others to the same place of safety and protection that God led you to, which broke you out of the silent prison you were in. Put your war boots on and get ready to fight back! Refuse to lay down -- get out of bed and rebuke what is coming at you. Remember where you are seated and live from that place.

Acts 1:8 - “But you will receive power when the Holy Spirit has come upon you, and you will be my witnesses … to the end of the earth.”

    • Understanding the Enemy!

I thought I write about the flip side of a topic, and how to recognize the attempts of the enemy to destroy lives and how you can walk in His victory!

For the Apostle Paul taught us not to be ignorant of enemy's tactics and strategies.

2 Corinthians 2:112  Lest Satan should get an advantage of us: for we are not ignorant of his devices.

So often, we can learn lessons by learning and playing "devil's" advocate.  When we read this passage,

Mar 3:26  And if Satan rise up against himself, and be divided, he cannot stand, but hath an end.
Mar 3:27  No man can enter into a strong man's house, and spoil his goods, except he will first bind the strongman; and then he will spoil his house.

Here we learn a lesson that in order to plunder one's house you must first BIND up the strongman.  While we realize in this particular passage this is referring to God binding up the strongman (Satan) and this is how Satan's house is plundered.  But if you carefully analyze the enemy -- you realize that he uses the same tactics on us!  Your house cannot be plundered -- unless you are first bound.   And then Satan can plunder your house!

    • Abraham and Issac: Pictures of the Resurrection, Part 2
      Shalom everyone,

As we continue this series the next obvious sign of the resurrection in the Old Testament is the sign of Isaac and Abraham.

Gen 22:1  After these things God tested Abraham and said to him, "Abraham!" And he said, "Here I am."
Gen 22:2  He said, "Take your son, your only son Isaac, whom you love, and go to the land of Moriah, and offer him there as a burnt offering on one of the mountains of which I shall tell you."

So God "tests" Abraham and as a perfect picture of the coming sacrifice of God's only begotten Son (Yeshua - Jesus) God instructs Issac to go and sacrifice his son, Issac.  Where does he say to offer him?  On Moriah -- the exact location of the Temple Mount.
