It could just mean that God knew us before creation, He knew that He would

create us. He knew all of our strengths, weaknesses, talents, personalities, appearances, and He even knew every thought we would ever think, even before the Universe was created!

But always remember this: God has never thought a thing, for He knows everything already! He needs know no time to think ( because time doesn't

exist for God anyways.) We need to think, God doesn't. He knows all before

anyone can even get it into their thoughts! :wub:

God knew us alright, but, did we know Him? :b:

Guys,

This is some dangerous doctrine. The Bible says that we are dead to God before we are His, we don't have any pre-exisitant spirit. He knew us before we were born because He doesn't exist in time and everything is present with God. That is something we can not understand in our 3 dimensional world. I will look up direct scriptures and post them a little later.

This is new age theology...don't mean to upset anyone...love yall!

I think that God's foreknowledge of Jeremiah, doesn't mean that Jeremiah had a pre-mortal existence. The Mormons use that verse, along with John 1:2, and 14, to show that we had a pre-mortal existence, but I'm not sure I understand it that way.

Genesis 2

[7] And the LORD God formed man of the dust of the ground, and breathed into his nostrils the breath of life; and man became a living soul.

After Adam's flesh was created, then he became a living soul. I believe it's flesh first, then spirit. Until I can find something solid, I'll probably hold to this belief.

If the earth did have some kind of life before God created man, it doesn't mean that our spirits were here, or that we were here then. The thing I'm concerned about, is there isn't any solid scriptural proof for this that I know of, and I do know that some of the false religions hold to this teaching in one form or another. It could go right in with reincarnation and a lot of othe

I think its kind of funny the way most believers will label something "dangerous" or "Heretical"

or "new age" -- but when they discover something is biblically sound, its "inspired!" and "wonderful." Too reactionary. There's nothing dangerous OR new age about this idea. It's not a salvific issue. There is ample evidence for a first earth age, but whether we were in existence in any sense at all simply is not revealed. So, for speculation, it's harmless.

Brother, did I not mention that before? :t2:

Like I said, He knew us, but I doubt we knew Him. :t2:

God bless you brothers and sisters.

"There's nothing dangerous OR new age about this idea."

I have to disagree with this. Out of curiosity, I asked this question at a different place:

"Does anybody believe that we had any kind of spiritual pre-mortal existence? If so, why, and if not, why? Scriptures would be good. Thanks. "

And, in the replies, the only ones that thought we had a pre-existence were non-Christian (by their own admission), and adhere to various New Age teachings.

A sampling of responses to the above question:

"You have always existed. You always will. There will never be a time in which you are not alive. This is what was meant by "created in my image" and "the alpha and the omega". As a part of the Oneness that is all and God, you are infinite and timeless."

============

"I haven't actually heard this specifically verbalized as the meaning behind in "my image,' but that is consistant with my belief that ALL consciouness has always existed. Quite a logical interpretation...yes! Great insight..

Oh yeah...... the All that IS! **smiles**"

============

"Not just the Mormons - nor did it originate with them. I am not Mormon.

Why, it originated with God!"

===========

"There's nothing I can say or do that would prove it to you. It's something that you will have to discover for yourself. Or not. It is your choice. However, there are a lot of things that people say in here that they back up with scripture from the Bible. I do not consider that (in a lot of cases) to be proof.

I believe (not 100% sure) that you could find similar ideas in some of the eastern philosophies or some of the really ancient religions (Zoroastrism, etc.). I'm just saying that the idea didn't originate with the Mormons.

I know what I know. I AM that I AM ."

===========

Sounds a bit New Age to me. At least they, and the Mormons, are the ones who seem to hold to that teaching more so than most other people.

    • You are coming up higher in this season – above the assignments of character assassination and verbal arrows sent to manage you, contain you, and derail your purpose. Where you have had your dreams and sleep robbed, as well as your peace and clarity robbed – leaving you feeling foggy, confused, and heavy – God is, right now, bringing freedom back -- now you will clearly see the smoke and mirrors that were set to distract you and you will disengage.

      Right now God is declaring a "no access zone" around you, and your enemies will no longer have any entry point into your life. Oil is being poured over you to restore the years that the locust ate and give you back your passion. This is where you will feel a fresh roar begin to erupt from your inner being, and a call to leave the trenches behind and begin your odyssey in your Christ calling moving you to bear fruit that remains as you minister to and disciple others into their Christ identity.

      This is where you leave the trenches and scale the mountain to fight from a different place, from victory, from peace, and from rest. Now watch as God leads you up higher above all the noise, above all the chaos, and shows you where you have been seated all along with Him in heavenly places where you are UNTOUCHABLE. This is where you leave the soul fight, and the mind battle, and learn to fight differently.

      You will know how to live like an eagle and lead others to the same place of safety and protection that God led you to, which broke you out of the silent prison you were in. Put your war boots on and get ready to fight back! Refuse to lay down -- get out of bed and rebuke what is coming at you. Remember where you are seated and live from that place.

      Acts 1:8 - “But you will receive power when the Holy Spirit has come upon you, and you will be my witnesses … to the end of the earth.”

    • Understanding the Enemy!

      I thought I write about the flip side of a topic, and how to recognize the attempts of the enemy to destroy lives and how you can walk in His victory!

      For the Apostle Paul taught us not to be ignorant of enemy's tactics and strategies.

      2 Corinthians 2:112  Lest Satan should get an advantage of us: for we are not ignorant of his devices.

      So often, we can learn lessons by learning and playing "devil's" advocate.  When we read this passage,

      Mar 3:26  And if Satan rise up against himself, and be divided, he cannot stand, but hath an end.
      Mar 3:27  No man can enter into a strong man's house, and spoil his goods, except he will first bind the strongman; and then he will spoil his house.

      Here we learn a lesson that in order to plunder one's house you must first BIND up the strongman.  While we realize in this particular passage this is referring to God binding up the strongman (Satan) and this is how Satan's house is plundered.  But if you carefully analyze the enemy -- you realize that he uses the same tactics on us!  Your house cannot be plundered -- unless you are first bound.   And then Satan can plunder your house!

    • Daniel: Pictures of the Resurrection, Part 3

      Shalom everyone,

      As we continue this study, I'll be focusing on Daniel and his picture of the resurrection and its connection with Yeshua (Jesus).

    • Abraham and Issac: Pictures of the Resurrection, Part 2
      Shalom everyone,

      As we continue this series the next obvious sign of the resurrection in the Old Testament is the sign of Isaac and Abraham.

      Gen 22:1  After these things God tested Abraham and said to him, "Abraham!" And he said, "Here I am."
      Gen 22:2  He said, "Take your son, your only son Isaac, whom you love, and go to the land of Moriah, and offer him there as a burnt offering on one of the mountains of which I shall tell you."

      So God "tests" Abraham and as a perfect picture of the coming sacrifice of God's only begotten Son (Yeshua - Jesus) God instructs Issac to go and sacrifice his son, Issac.  Where does he say to offer him?  On Moriah -- the exact location of the Temple Mount.
