In Revelation 12 we see a woman who gives birth to a man child, and the man child is caught up to God and to His throne, this of course of speaking of the Son of man Jesus Christ ascending up to the Father.  After this Satan and his evil angels are cast out of heaven, in verse 6 we see the woman fleeing from the face of the Dragon.  This woman, I will call Wisdom. The woman seen here represents those who are born of the “woman's seed” as shown in Genesis 3:15; as it is the Serpent's seed who persecutes and kills the “woman's seed” as Cain killed his righteous brother Abel.  This “woman's seed” also represents those who are born from above by the Holy Spirit, as Paul showed in the allegory in Galatians 4:26 that Jerusalem above is “the mother” of us all who are born of the Holy Spirit.

To confirm the timing of “when” those who are of the woman's seed flee into the wilderness, we need to go to prophecy.  After the man child Jesus was crucified, the prophecy came to pass that they would “smite the shepherd” and the flock would be scattered in Zech 13:7. ..7 Awake, O sword, against my shepherd, and against the man that is my fellow, saith the Lord of hosts: smite the shepherd, and the sheep shall be scattered: and I will turn mine hand upon the little ones.

But God also, by the OT prophets had warned the children of Israel, that if they would not hearken to the voice of the Lord, nor keep His commandments that he would scatter them to the nations of the world, and God would sell them into the hands of their enemies.

So not only were the early Christians forecast to be persecuted and killed, but also the Jews who had rejected Jesus as the Messiah. The woman fleeing into the wilderness is a sign of the saints fleeing into the Gentile Nations, where the woman was to be nourished during this time, times, and a half.  The start point of this fleeing happened after Jesus ascended and is also confirmed here in Luke 21:12-24. ..12 But before all these, they shall lay their hands on you, and persecute you, delivering you up to the synagogues, and into prisons, being brought before kings and rulers for my name's sake.13 And it shall turn to you for a testimony.14 Settle it therefore in your hearts, not to meditate before what ye shall answer:15 For I will give you a mouth and wisdom, which all your adversaries shall not be able to gainsay nor resist.16 And ye shall be betrayed both by parents, and brethren, and kinsfolks, and friends; and some of you shall they cause to be put to death.17 And ye shall be hated of all men for my name's sake.18 But there shall not an hair of your head perish.19 In your patience possess ye your souls.

20 And when ye shall see Jerusalem compassed with armies, then know that the desolation thereof is nigh.21 Then let them which are in Judaea flee to the mountains; and let them which are in the midst of it depart out; and let not them that are in the countries enter thereinto.22 For these be the days of vengeance, that all things which are written may be fulfilled. 23 But woe unto them that are with child, and to them that

give suck, in those days! for there shall be great distress in the land, and wrath upon this people. (the Jews) 24 And they(the Jews) shall fall by the edge of the sword, and shall be led away captive into all nations: and Jerusalem shall be trodden down of the Gentiles, until the times of the Gentiles be fulfilled. (compare to Dan 11:33)

This time period from the AOD (destruction of Jerusalem in 70 ad) to "the fullness of the Gentiles" is symbolically shown as 1,260 days in scripture, but it is not to be taken at face value.  This time period is the first tribulation period, which is to the Jews as Paul said in Romans 2:9, and was forecast to last “many days” per Daniel 11:33….33 And they that understand among the people shall instruct many: yet they (saints/Jews) shall fall by the sword, and by flame, by captivity, and by spoil, many days”. (compare to Luke 21:24)

The end of this time period is confirmed in many places in scripture, and shall be marked by the signs in the Sun, moon, and stars, and by the 6th seal events.  Then will begin the Great tribulation and the wrath of God upon the whole world.  But during this period in the wilderness, where the woman is fleeing from the Dragon trying to “carry her away”; during this time many of the saints were prophesied to be overcome.  Many would be “carried away” and led astray by many false teachers, the doctrines of men, and by taking up the beliefs, traditions, and the false idols of the Nations.  Basically, what happened to Israel in the OT has also happened to many Christians.  They, like Israel of old, would also play the Harlot with the ways of the world, and they would fall away from the faith.

That is why we see in Revelation 17:3 a woman who is being carried by the scarlet colored beast in the wilderness.   This woman's name I will call Wickedness, and she sits upon the heads of the beast.

Solemn passage there, indeed. I think the emphasis is on the tribulation saints rather than on the church.

Fleeing from “the flood waters”of the Dragon is not only about fleeing persecution, but also “fleeing”the lusts of the flesh.

((Flee fornication.))Every sin that a man doeth is without the body; but he that committeth fornication sinneth against his own body.
Wherefore, my dearly beloved, ((flee from idolatry.))

Notice what Paul says about things “which drown men” in destruction, like a “flood” we are to “flee”

1 Timothy 6:9-11

King James Version

9 But they that will be rich fall into temptation and a snare, and into many foolish and hurtful lusts, which ((drown men in destruction and perdition.))

10 For the love of money is the root of all evil: which while some coveted after, they have erred from the faith, and pierced themselves through with many sorrows.

11 But thou, O man of God, ((flee these things;)) and follow after righteousness, godliness, faith, love, patience, meekness.

God’s saints have suffered tribulation for thousands of years.

John 16:33

These things I have spoken unto you, that in me ye might have peace. In the world ye shall have tribulation: but be of good cheer; I have overcome the world.

Great verse to remember, indeed.

I was thinking also of the three groups of ppl mentioned in 1 Cor. 10.32.

The Church is made up of both Jews and Gentiles, if they are born of “the Spirit” they are all of the woman’s seed.

For by “one Spirit”are we all baptized into “one body”, whether we be Jews or Gentiles, whether we be bond or free; and have been all made to drink into “one Spirit.”

What happened in the wilderness?
Let us take a stroll down memory lane…

Both John the Baptist and Jesus spoke of a generation of vipers, and serpents.

Matthew 3:7 “But when he saw many of the Pharisees and Sadducees come to his baptism, he said unto them, O generation of vipers, who hath warned you to flee from the wrath to come?

Matthew 12:34 “O generation of vipers, how can ye, being evil, speak good things? for out of the abundance of the heart the mouth speaketh.”
Matthew 23:33 “Ye serpents, ye generation of vipers, how can ye escape the damnation of hell?”

The generation of vipers and serpents pertains to those who are of the serpents "seed" as shown in Genesis 3:15. Jesus also referred to them as children of hell in Matthew 23:15 just as they are known as the children of that wicked one who sow bad seed in the world Matthew 13:38.

This bad seed is sown by lies and false doctrine that come from "the spirit" of their father the Devil. Just as God’s Word is the good seed sown by his children who have His Living Word and Spirit dwelling in them, these saints belong to the kingdom of heaven.

So these serpents spread their poison by their false doctrine.  Deuteronomy 32:33“Their wine is the poison of dragons, and the cruel venom of asps.”  Romans 3:13“Their throat is an open sepulchre; with their tongues they have used deceit; the poison of asps is under their lips:”

In the wandering in the wilderness we are given a shadow of spiritual things to come when the Lord sent forth "fiery serpents" to bite and kill the rebellious children of Israel.  Numbers 21:6 “And the Lord sent fiery serpents among the people, and they bit the people; and much people of Israel died.”

But the Lord also had a remedy for this poison of serpents in the serpent that the Lord had Moses raise up in Numbers 21:8“And the Lord said unto Moses, Make thee a fiery serpent, and set it upon a pole: and it shall come to pass, that every one that is bitten, when he looketh upon it, shall live.”

This would be a sign of Jesus being made sin for us, he also being raised up, and all those who seek him would be healed from the "deadly poison" of the serpents.  John 3:14 “And as Moses lifted up the serpent in the wilderness, even so must the Son of man be lifted up:”

The Lord also sent forth scorpions in the wilderness Deuteronomy 8:15 “Who led thee through that great and terrible wilderness, wherein were fiery serpents, and scorpions, ….” The scorpions’ power to hurt is in his "tail", which represents the "false prophet spirit" working "in" many deceivers.  Isaiah 9:15 “The ancient and honourable, he is the head; and the prophet that teacheth lies, he is “the tail.”

The power in “the tail”was symbolized in the tail of the red dragon drawing away the angels of heaven by his lies; and this power is also shown in Deaths army who was prophesied to come out of hell.

Revelation 9:10 “And they had “tails”like unto scorpions, and there were "stings" in their “tails:”and their power was to hurt men five months.” (Note concerning their sting  1 Corinthians 15:56 The "sting" of death is sin; )

So the Old Serpent "empowers" his body (the beast), just as Christ being the head "empowers" His Body the Church.

The serpent’s power to deceive and kill by deadly poison is in their mouth, and the scorpions have the same power to deceive in their tails.  Revelation 9:19 “For their power is in their mouth, and in “their tails:” for their “tails”were like unto serpents, and had heads, and with them they do hurt.”

But the good news for God’s elect is, they will not be deceived by all the lies and false doctrine in these many deceivers. Just as we are given "power" by our Lord tread on serpents and scorpions.

Luke 10:19 “Behold, I give unto you power to tread on serpents and scorpions, and over all the power of the enemy: and nothing shall by any means hurt you.”

And their "deadly poison" will not hurt us. Mark 16:18 “They shall take up serpents; and if they drink any deadly thing, it shall not hurt them; they shall lay hands on the sick, and they shall recover.”

So those who are of the Devil's seed are empowered by Satan, and by his spirit of a lie, to speak lies.

But we who are born of God are empowered by Christ, and by the Spirit of Truth, to speak the Truth.

Death and Life are in the "power" of the tongue. -Proverbs 18:21

Peace and God bless

In Daniel 9:26 “And after threescore and two weeks shall Messiah be cut off, but not for himself: and the people of the prince that shall come shall destroy the city and the sanctuary; and the end thereof shall be with “a flood,”and unto the end of "the war" desolations are determined.

Many believe "this war" to be a physical war fought in a certain geographic location off somewhere in the distant future, but "the spiritual war for souls" has been ongoing for a long time now.

The "flood" prophesied is the flood of persecution and "lies" that came out of mouth of the serpent (Prince of this world) after Jesus Christ was caught to heaven, and the woman (spiritual Israel) fled into the wilderness as shown in Revelation 12:15“And the serpent cast out of his mouth water as "a flood" after the woman, that he might cause her to be "carried away "of the flood.

In Hebrews 13:9 we are told not to be "carried away" with divers and strange doctrines.

This war on the saints would not only be fought with carnal weapons by men, by the sword, by flame and by captivity; but this war also includes "spiritual warfare" by the Devil.

And it is also prophesied that many of the saints would be “overcome”and the beast would also prevail against them by this great flood of lies and false doctrine during this time period. And that is what the Lord meant by desolations were determined unto the end of this war; as the Red Dragon and the beast would "make war" with the saints, and also with the Lamb as is also written.

Prior to the Messiahs first coming it was all the "abominations" that the children of Israel had done that brought forth "the desolation" of the temple mount and Jerusalem in 70 AD. And it is much the same with the Gentile age and the world today as well. Many would be corrupted, and be "overcome", and lose their garments and "fall away" from the faith, thus making them "desolate" and naked.

We are shown this in Daniel 9:27 “….and for the overspreading of abominations he shall make it desolate, even until the consummation, and that determined shall be poured upon "the desolate.” (God’s wrath is poured)

Being made "desolate" means they would become unfruitful, or barren of good fruit. As Jesus said we could not bear fruit except we abide in Him (the vine) and in His words. And so many would be "overcome" by the spirit of this world, and by the cares of this world, and by the tribulations of this world and as a result would also "fall away" from the faith.

Just as this being made desolate by the ways of the world also comes by deception through false teachers as also happened to the children of Israel.

Jeremiah 12:10 “Many pastors have destroyed my vineyard, they have trodden my portion under foot, they have made my pleasant portion a "desolate" wilderness.”

And this being made desolate is what we also see in the Harlot church system in Revelation 17:16 “And the ten horns which thou sawest upon the beast, these shall hate the *****, and shall make her "desolate" and naked, and shall eat her flesh, and burn her with fire.”

So those who would "fall away" by being in bed with the ways of the world would be made "desolate" and naked as shown here in  Revelation 3:17 “Because thou sayest, I am rich, and increased with goods,
and have need of nothing; and knowest not that thou art wretched, and miserable, and poor, and blind, and naked:”

Nakedness in scripture symbolizes having your “sins exposed” like with Adam and Eve. This falling away and this nakedness is also shown here in Revelation 16:15“Behold, I come as a thief. Blessed is he that watcheth, and keepeth his garments, lest he walk "naked", and they see his shame.”

The sign of the kings of the earth eating the harlots flesh and drinking her blood is the opposite reflection of the saints of God eating the flesh of the Lamb and drinking his blood.

But the harlot’s flesh and blood is fornication and idolatry through covetousness, and the immoral ways of the world “AND ABOMINATIONS OF THE EARTH”; which also brings forth the wrath of God being poured out on "the desolate".

Revelation 17:2 “With whom the kings of the earth have committed fornication, and the inhabitants of the earth have been made drunk with the wine of her fornication.”

This sign of the harlot being made "desolate, naked", burned and eaten was first shown in the false idol the children of Israel had made when Moses went up to the mount. Notice the steps involved after Moses went up to the mount, after the "likeness" of Jesus being caught up to heavenly mount and to God.

First the children of Israel would "corrupt themselves" by false idols Exodus 32:7“And the Lord said unto Moses, Go, get thee down; for thy people, which thou broughtest out of the land of Egypt, have "corrupted" themselves:”

They would then be made "naked" for shame Exodus 32:25 “And when Moses saw that the people were naked; (for Aaron had made them naked unto their shame among their enemies”

And then the false idol was burned and eaten, or drank  Exodus 32:20 “And he took the calf which they had made, and burnt it in the fire, and ground it to powder, and strawed it upon the water, and made the children of Israel drink of it.”

So the ashes of the false idol were mixed into the waters...

Revelation 17:15 “And he saith unto me, The "waters" which thou sawest, where the ***** sitteth, are peoples, and multitudes, and nations, and tongues. (sea of iniquity= Red Sea)

Revelation 18:4 “And I heard another voice from heaven, saying, "Come out of her", my people, that ye be not partakers of "her sins", and that ye receive not of her plagues.”
Her wine (blood) of her fornication leads to God’s wrath. Revelation 14:8 “And there followed another angel, saying, Babylon is fallen, is fallen, that great city, because she made all nations drink of the wine of the wrath of "her fornication".

Plagues (God’s Wrath) shall be poured out upon "the desolate".

Revelation 14:10 The same shall drink of the wine of the wrath of God, which is poured out without mixture into the cup of his indignation; and he shall be tormented with fire and brimstone in the
presence of the holy angels, and in the presence of the Lamb:

So this war is not only physical, but spiritual warfare, that wars against the soul...

1 Peter 2:11 Dearly beloved, I beseech you as strangers and pilgrims, abstain from "fleshly lusts", which "war" against the soul;

Romans 7:23 "But I see another law "in" my members, "warring" against the law of my mind, and bringing me into "captivity" to the law of "sin" which is "in" my members."

James 4:1 From whence come "wars and fightings" among you? come they not hence, even of your "lusts" that "war" in your members?

So be not carried away by “the flood”of lies and false doctrines of men, which will lead the desolate into captivity and into the hard bondage of sin.

Be good and be blessed

Greetings Stewardofthemystery,

You may need some assistance here in bringing forth you OP…perhaps?

On 6/17/2024 at 2:18 PM, Stewardofthemystery said:

In Revelation 12 we see a woman who gives birth to a man child, and the man child is caught up to God and to His throne, this of course of speaking of the Son of man Jesus Christ ascending up to the Father.

The entirety of Yahshua’s conception, birth, life, testimony in the earth, scourge, crucifixion, death, burial, resurrection, ascension to the throne, and return to earth as the Holy Spirit…had been completed years and some contend decades…prior to Johns writing here Revelation 12…and John was aware of all of this as well…he was there…he lived through it…remember?

There’s this that I have listed above…and then...there is the fact that the “One” who first spoke to John in Revelation 1…referred to Himself as the “Alpha and Omega”…the “Lord” and the “Almighty”…undoubtedly Yahshua…in heaven.

Then in Revelation 4 we hear this same Lord Yahshua Christ…”call”…John through the “open door in heaven” up to the throne and...the One already sitting on the throne…in heaven…again undoubtedly Yahshua.

The resurrected, alive, already enthroned, Lord Yahshua then tells John…I will show you what must take place after these things.” Likely in reference to the first 3 chapters of the book of Revelation…that He had just “unveiled” for John.

John is now going to be shown “what must take place after these things”…the Lord Yahshua who is on the throne in heaven…is showing John things that pertain to the “future” of his…that would be...Johns day.

So at the time of Revelation 12…being given to John…the Lord Yahshua Christ is clearly already glorified and in heaven and upon the throne of God. “John is yet alive” on the earth…supplying us with a time stamp reference…mid to late first century…and called up into His presence…up to the throne and the “One sitting on the throne”…to have the “future” of the “created heavens and earth” and its “summation” along with an understanding of the "next age"…revealed to him. This is years after the actual birth of Yahshua.

Given the veracity of the points I have made here “Stewardofthemystery”…to suggest that this “Man-child” who is “birthed forth” from this “woman” in Revelation 12...is depicting the “birth in Bethlehem” of the Lord Yahshua Christ…early in the "first century"...does not seem to flow with Scriptural picture presented to us prior to Revelation 12…which you have cited.

Tatwo...:)

“Woman’s seed”…”serpent’s seed” are a reference to “offspring”…it should be noted that the “woman” does not have a “seed”…it must be implanted in her womb. The One who implants it is the “Father”…when gestation is complete the “seed” is birthed forth as her “Offspring” which is the “Son of the Father”…which comes out of “her”…and thereby is separated at that point from “her.”

The most notable element in regards to this “woman”…call her whatever you like…is…that it is “from her” that this “Man Child” comes forth…indicating a clear “separation” between the “woman and her Offspring.” This is the separation that typically attends the mother giving birth to her child.

This “Man Child” comes forth unto God and His throne…and “she”…the woman who was carrying the “Holy seed” is sent into the wilderness…they are separated…the “Man-Child” goes to God and specifically to the throne of God...where "He" is plainly seen btw...she…the woman “does not.” Once that which is “Holy” is birthed forth out from “her…she” is sent away.

To the “wilderness” she goes…a detailed understanding of “wilderness” is greatly beneficial in the interpretation of what this means. Scripture says it is a place that God had prepared for her…because He knew that He would be separating…her…from her Offspring…which is “His Son”…which is what we are seeing in Revelation 12…she is not a good mother…she is not faithful…thus "God forces" the separation.

In terms of God’s preparation for her…clearly…God also prepared a place for the dragon and all of his demonic counterparts…so…the mere fact that His preparation of a place that He is going to send someone or something does not automatically denote that it is a place of favor in the mind of God. The “wilderness” as portrayed in Scripture…is a place where a choice is made…and after the dragon chases her…she makes her choice...the one God the Father knew she would make…completing the seperation...as the Scripture clearly delineates.

This is but a "replay"…of “Israel” as the “woman”…bearing the “Holy Spirit seed” of God the Father…who was Yahshua. This will be the final iteration of this "woman and her offspring" scenario.

Yahshua is born and in their rejection of Him…the “woman – Israel” is sent to “desolation” which is synonymous with the word “wilderness”…hence they were separated. The seed of God…His Offspring…His Son…went to God…the other…the woman/Israel did not...she went to a place prepared for her by God.

Notables...”Man Child”…the word “Man” obviously means “ a Man…male”…the word “child” here is derived from the word huios” meaning “Son” and it is the same word “Son” as referenced in Matthew 3:17…”This is my Son.”  This is in reference to the Lord…just after His baptism.

The Lord Yahshua was not sent forth prior to this…during the time prior to His release into creation as the “Son of God” which happened after John baptized Him…He was yet “in the womb” of the “woman – Israel.” He went into the water the “son of Man” and by God’s own pronouncement…He came out of the water the mature “Son of God”…that is the definition and the usage of the word “huios”…mature son...in Revelation 12.

This “Man-Child” who comes forth “out of” the “woman”…is the mature “Son of God”…of which the Lord Yahshua is His Head.

Tatwo...:)

    • You are coming up higher in this season – above the assignments of character assassination and verbal arrows sent to manage you, contain you, and derail your purpose. Where you have had your dreams and sleep robbed, as well as your peace and clarity robbed – leaving you feeling foggy, confused, and heavy – God is, right now, bringing freedom back -- now you will clearly see the smoke and mirrors that were set to distract you and you will disengage.

Right now God is declaring a "no access zone" around you, and your enemies will no longer have any entry point into your life. Oil is being poured over you to restore the years that the locust ate and give you back your passion. This is where you will feel a fresh roar begin to erupt from your inner being, and a call to leave the trenches behind and begin your odyssey in your Christ calling moving you to bear fruit that remains as you minister to and disciple others into their Christ identity.

This is where you leave the trenches and scale the mountain to fight from a different place, from victory, from peace, and from rest. Now watch as God leads you up higher above all the noise, above all the chaos, and shows you where you have been seated all along with Him in heavenly places where you are UNTOUCHABLE. This is where you leave the soul fight, and the mind battle, and learn to fight differently.

You will know how to live like an eagle and lead others to the same place of safety and protection that God led you to, which broke you out of the silent prison you were in. Put your war boots on and get ready to fight back! Refuse to lay down -- get out of bed and rebuke what is coming at you. Remember where you are seated and live from that place.

Acts 1:8 - “But you will receive power when the Holy Spirit has come upon you, and you will be my witnesses … to the end of the earth.”

    • George Whitten, the visionary behind Worthy Ministries and Worthy News, explores the timing of the Simchat Torah War in Israel. Is this a water-breaking moment? Does the timing of the conflict on October 7 with Hamas signify something more significant on the horizon?

    • Understanding the Enemy!

I thought I write about the flip side of a topic, and how to recognize the attempts of the enemy to destroy lives and how you can walk in His victory!

For the Apostle Paul taught us not to be ignorant of enemy's tactics and strategies.

2 Corinthians 2:112  Lest Satan should get an advantage of us: for we are not ignorant of his devices.

So often, we can learn lessons by learning and playing "devil's" advocate.  When we read this passage,

Mar 3:26  And if Satan rise up against himself, and be divided, he cannot stand, but hath an end.
Mar 3:27  No man can enter into a strong man's house, and spoil his goods, except he will first bind the strongman; and then he will spoil his house.

Here we learn a lesson that in order to plunder one's house you must first BIND up the strongman.  While we realize in this particular passage this is referring to God binding up the strongman (Satan) and this is how Satan's house is plundered.  But if you carefully analyze the enemy -- you realize that he uses the same tactics on us!  Your house cannot be plundered -- unless you are first bound.   And then Satan can plunder your house!

    • Abraham and Issac: Pictures of the Resurrection, Part 2
      Shalom everyone,

As we continue this series the next obvious sign of the resurrection in the Old Testament is the sign of Isaac and Abraham.

Gen 22:1  After these things God tested Abraham and said to him, "Abraham!" And he said, "Here I am."
Gen 22:2  He said, "Take your son, your only son Isaac, whom you love, and go to the land of Moriah, and offer him there as a burnt offering on one of the mountains of which I shall tell you."

So God "tests" Abraham and as a perfect picture of the coming sacrifice of God's only begotten Son (Yeshua - Jesus) God instructs Issac to go and sacrifice his son, Issac.  Where does he say to offer him?  On Moriah -- the exact location of the Temple Mount.
