The local Pennsylvania sheriff defended the armed officer who encountered former President Donald Trump’s would-be assassin Thomas Matthew Crooks on the rooftop moments before the shooting — claiming it was the right call to retreat after the gunman pointed the weapon at him.

Butler County Sheriff Michael Slupe confirmed Monday that a local officer made contact with Crooks after being hoisted up to the roof by another officer — but fled when the sniper pointed his AR-style assault rifle at the officer.

“I would have done the same thing, absolutely,” the sheriff said.(end quote)

I thought when anyone points a gun at police they get shot?

Here is what does not add up to me. The police were informed of a gun man on the roof about 2 minutes before he began shooting.

The police and secret service have communications and radios where they can relay information in just seconds right?

So why wasn’t that information relayed to the secret service agents and police guarding Trump IMMEDIATELY!

Trump should have been rushed off the stage even before the first shots were taken. You can’t tell me they did not have radio communications going on BEFORE the shooting.

That is what needs to be investigated.

I watched that movie when it first came out.  I think actors and politicians have a lot in common.  Maybe that is why so many actors get into politics.🤔

Here is where the failure occurred…

In the news….

CNN reported that attendees saw 20-year-old Thomas Crooks acting strangely close to the rally metal detectors. Local police enforcement was alerted and they purportedly warned the Secret Service to be on the lookout for him over their radios.

In addition, he was said to have been observed entering the rally with a rifle outside of a security checkpoint. Later, he was allegedly seen jumping “roof to roof” before arriving at the AGR facility.

Prior to eventually reacting to reports of an armed man on the AGR roof, it appears that police were unable to locate him during the period those alerts were sent out.

According to law enforcement officials who spoke with the Associated Press, (end quote)

SO the police DID warn the Secret service well BEFORE the shooter even got on the roof.

Trump should have been removed from the stage well before the shooter had a opportunity to take a shot.

In the news….Iran Threat Prompted Increased Protection of Trump, Though Rally Attack Seems Unrelated

An assassination threat from Iran prompted the U.S. Secret Service to boost protection around Donald Trump before Saturday's attempted killing of the former president, though it appears unrelated to the rally attack, according to two U.S. officials.

Upon learning of the threat, the Biden administration reached out to senior officials at the Secret Service to make them aware, the officials said, adding it was shared with the lead agent on Trump's protection detail and the Trump campaign. That prompted the agency to surge resources and assets. The officials spoke on the condition of anonymity to discuss sensitive intelligence matters.

The additional resources did not prevent Saturday's attack at a Trump rally in Pennsylvania(End Quote)

So what they are telling us is, this was “increased protection” from the Secret Service.  🫤
