For Sin, And Uncleanness

Both sin and the uncleanness from death that defiles the holy things were

dealt with on the cross, and will consummate the age.

Zechariah 13:1 In that day a fountain shall be opened for the house of David

and for the inhabitants of Jerusalem, for sin and for uncleanness.

We all have contact with dead things, which defiles what must be kept holy.

Numbers 19:

11 He who touches the dead body of anyone shall be unclean for seven days.

12 He shall purify himself with the water on the third day and on the seventh day;

then he will be clean. But if he does not purify himself on the third day

and on the seventh day, he will not be clean.

13 Whoever touches the body of anyone who has died, and does not purify himself,

defiles the tabernacle of the Lord. That person shall be cut off from Israel. He shall be unclean,

because the water of purification was not sprinkled on him; his uncleanness is still on him.

 

19 The clean person shall sprinkle the unclean on the third day and on the seventh day;

and on the seventh day he shall purify himself, wash his clothes, and bathe in water;

and in the evening he shall be clean.

Sin And Death Defiled The Holy Land and The Offerings of the people

Ezekiel 36:17 Son of man, when the house of Israel dwelt in their own land,

they defiled it by their own ways and deeds; to Me their way was like the uncleanness

of a woman in her customary impurity.

Ezekiel 39:24 According to their uncleanness and according to their transgressions

I have dealt with them, and hidden My face from them.

This is a reflection of the inner working of Christ, by the power of the Holy Spirit.

2 Chronicles 29:16 And the priests went into the inner part of the house of the Lord,

to cleanse it, and brought out all the uncleanness that they found in the temple of

the Lord into the court of the house of the Lord. And the Levites took it, to carry it

out abroad into the brook Kidron.

Deuteronomy 21:

22 If a man has committed a sin deserving of death, and he is put to death,

and you hang him on a tree,

23 his body shall not remain overnight on the tree, but you shall surely bury him

that day, so that you do not defile the land which the Lord your God is giving you

as an inheritance; for he who is hanged is accursed of God.

The apostolic doctrine reflects this knowledge; for sin and for uncleanness

Romans 8:2 For the law of the Spirit of life in Christ Jesus has made me free from the

law of sin and death.

Romans 5:12 Wherefore, as by one man sin entered into the world, and death by sin;

and so death passed upon all men, for that all have sinned.

James 1:14 But each one is tempted when he is drawn away by his own desires and enticed.

15 Then, when desire has conceived, it gives birth to sin; and sin, when it is fully grown,

brings forth death.

1 John 5:17 All unrighteousness is sin, and there is sin not unto death.

Welcome to WCF! Titus 1:15 is an interesting verse. the word 'are' is inserted by the translator. As if a person of purity can make something impure become pure. The statement in truth is, "unto the pure, all things pure". In other words, without purity of heart, motive, etc...the pure remains unattainable. This requires sanctification.

The within requires cleaning, ( the mind and conscience) otherwise it remains defiled.

Giving of all we have, is for ALL things to become clean unto us. We cannot serve money and God, nor be covetous, or we deride God.

Unto the pure, ( of mind and conscience) all things are pure. ( all things are clean to us when we do not serve money, but serve God and give such as we have instead.)

 

Luke 11:39 And the Lord said unto him, Now do ye Pharisees make clean the outside of the cup and the platter; but your inward part is full of ravening and wickedness.
40 Ye fools, did not he that made that which is without make that which is within also?
41 But rather give alms of such things as ye have; and, behold, all things are clean unto you.

We give alms of "such things as we have" demonstrating faith and contentment.

Many have been taught to give for future prosperity, rather than to make clean

what they have, and "rebuke the devourer".

Giving what we have is because we cannot be the disciple of Christ without forsaking all we have. ( that is where contentment can come in)

The word Jesus spoke to us is what cleans us, to abide in Him, HIs word in us, and what we ask ( according to HIs will) is done to us.

The Father is glorified that we bear much fruit, the fruit is to eternal life, belief in the rising of Christ from the dead, and in that good conscience all else is forsaken. ( given away)

Would that include "giving what we have" in the way of communication devices including  hardware, software, and internet provider service?
