Some great points are being made in this thread for sure. We have to be sooo careful these days with what we are accepting as truth. If it doesn't measure up to the Word, we gotta say "no thank you". Another scripture that just came to mind is 1 John 4:1-3 too...

JUST DESSERTS. We can't judg'em, but God can!

But it's amazing how so many can be deceived so quickly! Look at Jack Van

Impe. Before he thought the Pope was true christian, he used to teach sound

doctrine, but now he teaches new age, brainwash stuff. And at the end of

his shows, he was always trying to sell videos and books and other things.

And how about Robert Schuller? I saw a few masses on tv, and at the end of

them, he was always trying to sell stuff.

He was selling this box at one time, where there was a Sparrow on it, and in-

side there were 52 Bible verses cards for the 52 weeks of the year. It cost

$240, or $20 a month for 12 months.

But I asked my dad this one day, " why would anyone need to spend $240

for 52 bible verses when I have the Bible? Seems pretty strange to me.

The only God these "televangelists" worship is $$$!

They try to sell you all things, saying "it will help you" , and "it's from God", but the only thing you need is Jesus Christ, and the Bible!

See how deceived many are? They'll go to a mass, thinking they are doing a

good thing, and hearing deceptions from these televangelists, instead of reading the Bible for themselves, and discovering God for themselves.

I used to have horrendous financial difficulties until I realized WHO I as in Christ Jesus. I have never had a financial problem since, and nothing in my "situation" changed at all (on the material level). If I ask the Lord, he gives. Period. I don't have to worry about it. Granted, I don't go asking for a Mercedez Benz. I don't need one! But the Lord does take care of all of my family's needs and provides more than enough for our mere 'wants' too, as well as plenty to share with those who are in need. A lot of believers are living in worry and woe financially because they are not operating in a mode that pleases God; He wants us to realize and walk in the power and authority we've been given and to recognize ourselves as heirs with Christ in all things. Sometimes its a hard lesson to learn. I have a Baptist friend (Southern baptist) who was taught his whole life never, ever, ever "demand" from God. But that isn't what Jesus teaches! He told the parable of the woman who banged on the window of her neighbor persistently until he gave her suitable offerings for unexpected visitors in the night, and Jesus clearly is using a humorous description of stubborn persistence with God. It's not that God is a grump who doesn't care, it's that He wants to see what kind of fiber you're made of.

Not saying you are wrong, just that my approach to God is a little different...I go humbly before Him in prayer. He has taken care of me. Even when i didn't know I needed taken care of. I have been out of work for 9 months, but He has seen that my needs have been met. I have not been bold with him, guess I'm too timid yet. When I grow up, I will be more bold.

I think we have to remember, that when we had Christ's purity and sinlessness and

righteousness imputed/imparted to us, we also had his humility and dignity before the

Father imputed/imparted.

God just wants us to entreat Him, as often as possible. He doesn't like distance between

us, he laments it; and flesh is that distance. But since Christ has gone before us, beyond

the veil, into the unseen holy of holies, in the flesh, we go with Him also; we are seated

with Christ in the heavenlies, at the right hand of majesty on High. THAT is the boldness

I'm speaking of.

and by "demand" I simply mean asking for what is rightfully yours which God is waiting

to give you, in abundance, when you ask for it -- and in perfect measure.

By all means, we should remain humble before God, just as we humbly respect our parents

and would do nothing in their presence that would make them think we are "using" them or

taking advantage
