Did you know the devil loves us to talk about him?

Do you know that you have been given ALL POWER and AUTHORITY over the devil?

Edification, brother...edification. We know these truths to be self-evident, yet it never hurts to be reminded. BTW: All Christians are filled with the Spirit.

All Christians are filled with the Spirit.

Not true brother!

ACTS 8:14-17

Now when the apostles who were at Jerusalem heard that Samaria had RECIEVED THE WORD OF GOD (They recieved Jesus, thus they were now christians), they sent Peter and John to them, who, when they had come down, prayed for them that THEY MIGHT RECIEVE THE HOLY SPIRIT. FOR AS YET HE HAD NOT FALLEN UPON NONE OF THEM. THEY HAD ONLY BEEN BAPTIZED IN THE NAME OF THE LORD JESUS. THEN THEY LAID HANDS ON THEM, AND THEY RECIEVED THE HOLY SPIRIT.

if satan was powerless, we would have nothing to worry about....

we wouldnt have been told to put on the armor of God....

we wouldnt have been told to pray without ceasing....

Jesus Christ rules over all, but that doesnt mean the adversary is powerless...

just my thoughts!

I like this thought, skeezix, even if I'm not in 100% agreement. God never promised us as Christians a smooth trip, only a safe landing.

I guess a better way to phrase this is that satan has no dominion over a Christian. We cannot be controlled by satan, without giving permission, of course.

Hello and welcome to Worthy Boards Singer for God. It's awesome to see another new christian on these here humble boards.

I'm telling you Singer that these are some fine boards, and you are lucky to have landed here.

Anyways, you make a good point SFG. Satan does not have dominion over

christians, but does poke and praud us many times on our journey with God.

He is a stumbling block, a wall, an obstacle. We must overcome Satan by ask-

ing God to be part of His flock, and for Him to be shield against the Adversary.

Put on the helmet of salvation, the breastplate of righteousness, the shield of

faith, and the sword of the spirit ( much better said in Ephesians 6:14-17.)

Well God bless you SFG, and welcome again to Worthy Boards.

Jam 4:7 Submit yourselves therefore to God. Resist the devil, and he will flee from you.

If we had complete authority over him (like word of faith says) why would we be told to resist him? Scripture is full of instruction regarding how to deal with the devil. We are told to give no place to him.

1Th 2:18 Wherefore we would have come unto you, even I Paul, once and again; but Satan hindered us.

Satan was directly at work here against Paul so he certainly does work against those who are doing God's work.

On the other hand.......

I think Voice of God (rather presumptious name)is right in that many Christians would rather blame their problems on the devil than deal with the flesh that is at the root of most of our troubles.

I hear too much "the devil made me do it" for my liking. I believe there is influence today in the demonic realm, but there also has to be a level of personal accountability. When you see different sins mentioned, such as greed, pride, lust, covetousness, etc., in scripture, not always is satan's name attached. These are part of our human nature, a part that has to be put away for sure, but they do rare up their ugly heads from time to time.

True, satan can get up in our face, and we do need to resist him. But we also have to realize that some things we get into are our own doing, not satan's.

I disagree.

Ephesians 6:12 - For our struggle is not against flesh and blood, but against the rulers, against the authorities, against the powers of this dark world and against the spiritual forces of evil in the heavenly realms.

Being attacked is a part of what happens when you are in a war.

Did you know the devil loves us to talk about him?

Have you ever heard the expression: "Know your enemy"?

Do you know that you have been given ALL POWER and AUTHORITY over the devil?

But if you are ignorant and unskilled in how to utilize that power and authority, you won't do too well.

    • You are coming up higher in this season – above the assignments of character assassination and verbal arrows sent to manage you, contain you, and derail your purpose. Where you have had your dreams and sleep robbed, as well as your peace and clarity robbed – leaving you feeling foggy, confused, and heavy – God is, right now, bringing freedom back -- now you will clearly see the smoke and mirrors that were set to distract you and you will disengage.

Right now God is declaring a "no access zone" around you, and your enemies will no longer have any entry point into your life. Oil is being poured over you to restore the years that the locust ate and give you back your passion. This is where you will feel a fresh roar begin to erupt from your inner being, and a call to leave the trenches behind and begin your odyssey in your Christ calling moving you to bear fruit that remains as you minister to and disciple others into their Christ identity.

This is where you leave the trenches and scale the mountain to fight from a different place, from victory, from peace, and from rest. Now watch as God leads you up higher above all the noise, above all the chaos, and shows you where you have been seated all along with Him in heavenly places where you are UNTOUCHABLE. This is where you leave the soul fight, and the mind battle, and learn to fight differently.

You will know how to live like an eagle and lead others to the same place of safety and protection that God led you to, which broke you out of the silent prison you were in. Put your war boots on and get ready to fight back! Refuse to lay down -- get out of bed and rebuke what is coming at you. Remember where you are seated and live from that place.

Acts 1:8 - “But you will receive power when the Holy Spirit has come upon you, and you will be my witnesses … to the end of the earth.”

    • Understanding the Enemy!

I thought I write about the flip side of a topic, and how to recognize the attempts of the enemy to destroy lives and how you can walk in His victory!

For the Apostle Paul taught us not to be ignorant of enemy's tactics and strategies.

2 Corinthians 2:112  Lest Satan should get an advantage of us: for we are not ignorant of his devices.

So often, we can learn lessons by learning and playing "devil's" advocate.  When we read this passage,

Mar 3:26  And if Satan rise up against himself, and be divided, he cannot stand, but hath an end.
Mar 3:27  No man can enter into a strong man's house, and spoil his goods, except he will first bind the strongman; and then he will spoil his house.

Here we learn a lesson that in order to plunder one's house you must first BIND up the strongman.  While we realize in this particular passage this is referring to God binding up the strongman (Satan) and this is how Satan's house is plundered.  But if you carefully analyze the enemy -- you realize that he uses the same tactics on us!  Your house cannot be plundered -- unless you are first bound.   And then Satan can plunder your house!

    • Abraham and Issac: Pictures of the Resurrection, Part 2
      Shalom everyone,

As we continue this series the next obvious sign of the resurrection in the Old Testament is the sign of Isaac and Abraham.

Gen 22:1  After these things God tested Abraham and said to him, "Abraham!" And he said, "Here I am."
Gen 22:2  He said, "Take your son, your only son Isaac, whom you love, and go to the land of Moriah, and offer him there as a burnt offering on one of the mountains of which I shall tell you."

So God "tests" Abraham and as a perfect picture of the coming sacrifice of God's only begotten Son (Yeshua - Jesus) God instructs Issac to go and sacrifice his son, Issac.  Where does he say to offer him?  On Moriah -- the exact location of the Temple Mount.
