I did not ignore them. Just the oposite, I quoted all these Scriptures you presented and showed that your interpretation of them was incorrect.

Then you are going against proven Theological interpretation by those who have spent a lifetime researching and studying the Word of God.

Enjoy your own interpretation.

I am betting it serves your motives well.

Please help me understand which law we are under and how telling a joke will be transgressing this law.

I refer you to our Lord's command: “A new command  I give you: Love one another. As I have loved you, so you must love one another.  By this everyone will know that you are my disciples, if you love one another.”  (John 13:34-35).  See, also, Galatians 5:14, "For all the law is fulfilled in one word, even in this; Thou shalt love thy neighbour as thyself.", and, Galatians 6:2, "Bear ye one another's burdens, and so fulfill the law of Christ."

Nicodemus and other pharisees spent a lifetime researching and studying the Word of God, but did they understand it?

What do you know about my motives?

I agree.  What if a believer loves his neighbor and wants to make him laugh by telling a joke? Does this make telling a joke sin?

yes the synagogue of satan kept persecuting him.

Please ignore my last post.  I was unaware of some of the rules and had I known I wouldn't have mentioned anything that controversial of a subject matter.   My sincere apologies.

I tend to think in simple terms. Sin meaning missing the mark and that mark is the Righteous requirement of God--which of course is imputed to us by Christ.

It is of no import what I think is sin, but what God has called sin.

We all have a sin nature, and we are all a subject to our flesh and "the sin that so easily besets." (Hebrews 12:1).  Not only do we do that which is sin, we all will also fail to do that which we know we ought to do, which is also sin.

We all fall short of God's glory, of doing His will, of meeting His standard of perfection.  But God, by His abundance of grace He saves us, and by His every renewing mercies He forgives us.

To be sure, God commands us to love Him with all our heart, soul, and strength. Can anyone but Yeshua claim to have kept perfectly that command?  God commands us to love our neighbor as ourselves.  Can anyone but Yeshua claim to have kept perfectly that command?  God commands us to repent, and He makes clear that repentance is an ongoing command/obligation for the believer.  Give all the glory to God, because He and only He is perfect.

As @Live2believe said:

The Biblical definition of sin:  sin is the transgression of the law (1 John 3:4, KJV).

Sin is missing the mark, its going off track from Gods Word.

Through Gods plan of Mercy and Grace through His only begotten Son Christ Jesus God, has made the New and Everlasting covenant

This Law of God  is the law all those saved have through the Holy workings 0f the Holy Spirit 0f God working in their hearts.

Jeremiah 31:33

33 But this shall be the covenant that I will make with the house of Israel; After those days, saith the Lord, I will put My law in their inward parts, and write it in their hearts; and will be their God, and they shall be My people.

Hebrews 8:10

10 For this is the covenant that I will make with the house of Israel after those days, saith the Lord; I will put my laws into their mind, and write them in their hearts: and I will be to them a God, and they shall be to Me a people

So then

Transgressing the law Its not about the added laws that Christ Jesus said made a mockery of His LAWS

Christ Jesus said himself to the scribes and the pharisees: you observe this you observe that and you make the law to no affect with all the stuff you added that God never commanded.  See: Mathew ch23

Regarding sin

Christ Jesus said: who amongst you who is without sin cast the first stone.

and the accusers left.

But to the one Christ Jesus saved from the accusers He said

Go and sin no more lest something worse happens John 14:11

Christ Jesus healed but said to the one He healed, go and sin no more.

Why? because sin comes only to steal  kill  destroy

And Chris Jesus came to give us Life and Life more abundant

seek ye first the kingdom of God and these things shall be  added unto you. -Mathew 6:33

Trust in the Lord and lean not on your own understanding acknowledge Him in ALL your ways, and He will direct your paths. Prov.3 Verses 5 to 6

1 Corinthians 11:17-34

17 Now in this that I declare unto you I praise you not, that ye come together not for the better, but for the worse.

18 For first of all, when ye come together in the church, I hear that there be divisions among you; and I partly believe it.

19 For there must be also heresies among you, that they which are approved may be made manifest among you.

20 When ye come together therefore into one place, this is not to eat the Lord's supper.

21 For in eating every one taketh before other his own supper: and one is hungry, and another is drunken.

22 What? have ye not houses to eat and to drink in? or despise ye the church of God, and shame them that have not? what shall I say to you? shall I praise you in this? I praise you not.

23 For I have received of the Lord that which also I delivered unto you, that the Lord Jesus the same night in which he was betrayed took bread:

24 And when He had given thanks, he brake it, and said, Take, eat: this is My body, which is broken for you: this do in remembrance of Me.

25 After the same manner also He took the cup, when he had supped, saying, this cup is the new testament in My blood: this do ye, as oft as ye drink it, in remembrance of me.

26 For as often as ye eat this bread, and drink this cup, ye do shew the Lord's death till he come.

27 Wherefore whosoever shall eat this bread, and drink this cup of the Lord, unworthily, shall be guilty of the body and blood of the Lord.

28 But let a man examine himself, and so let him eat of that bread, and drink of that cup.

29 For he that eateth and drinketh unworthily, eateth and drinketh damnation to himself, not discerning the Lord's body.

3For this cause many are weak and sickly among you, and many sleep.

3For if we would judge ourselves, we should not be judged.

32 But when we are judged, we are chastened of the Lord, that we should not be condemned with the world.

33 Wherefore, my brethren, when ye come together to eat, tarry one for another.

34 And if any man hunger, let him eat at home; that ye come not together unto condemnation. And the rest will I set in order when I come.

Is the joke prima facie offensive, subjectively offensive, subliminally offensive?

We are told to give no offense to anyone in or outside the body of Christ, but to do everything to the glory of God. (1 Corinthians 10:31-32).

As followers of Yeshua, we know that words matter.  So, speak words of truth in love so as to edify, and not so as to cause one to stumble.  Peace

    • You are coming up higher in this season – above the assignments of character assassination and verbal arrows sent to manage you, contain you, and derail your purpose. Where you have had your dreams and sleep robbed, as well as your peace and clarity robbed – leaving you feeling foggy, confused, and heavy – God is, right now, bringing freedom back -- now you will clearly see the smoke and mirrors that were set to distract you and you will disengage.

Right now God is declaring a "no access zone" around you, and your enemies will no longer have any entry point into your life. Oil is being poured over you to restore the years that the locust ate and give you back your passion. This is where you will feel a fresh roar begin to erupt from your inner being, and a call to leave the trenches behind and begin your odyssey in your Christ calling moving you to bear fruit that remains as you minister to and disciple others into their Christ identity.

This is where you leave the trenches and scale the mountain to fight from a different place, from victory, from peace, and from rest. Now watch as God leads you up higher above all the noise, above all the chaos, and shows you where you have been seated all along with Him in heavenly places where you are UNTOUCHABLE. This is where you leave the soul fight, and the mind battle, and learn to fight differently.

You will know how to live like an eagle and lead others to the same place of safety and protection that God led you to, which broke you out of the silent prison you were in. Put your war boots on and get ready to fight back! Refuse to lay down -- get out of bed and rebuke what is coming at you. Remember where you are seated and live from that place.

Acts 1:8 - “But you will receive power when the Holy Spirit has come upon you, and you will be my witnesses … to the end of the earth.”

    • Understanding the Enemy!

I thought I write about the flip side of a topic, and how to recognize the attempts of the enemy to destroy lives and how you can walk in His victory!

For the Apostle Paul taught us not to be ignorant of enemy's tactics and strategies.

2 Corinthians 2:112  Lest Satan should get an advantage of us: for we are not ignorant of his devices.

So often, we can learn lessons by learning and playing "devil's" advocate.  When we read this passage,

Mar 3:26  And if Satan rise up against himself, and be divided, he cannot stand, but hath an end.
Mar 3:27  No man can enter into a strong man's house, and spoil his goods, except he will first bind the strongman; and then he will spoil his house.

Here we learn a lesson that in order to plunder one's house you must first BIND up the strongman.  While we realize in this particular passage this is referring to God binding up the strongman (Satan) and this is how Satan's house is plundered.  But if you carefully analyze the enemy -- you realize that he uses the same tactics on us!  Your house cannot be plundered -- unless you are first bound.   And then Satan can plunder your house!

    • Abraham and Issac: Pictures of the Resurrection, Part 2
      Shalom everyone,

As we continue this series the next obvious sign of the resurrection in the Old Testament is the sign of Isaac and Abraham.

Gen 22:1  After these things God tested Abraham and said to him, "Abraham!" And he said, "Here I am."
Gen 22:2  He said, "Take your son, your only son Isaac, whom you love, and go to the land of Moriah, and offer him there as a burnt offering on one of the mountains of which I shall tell you."

So God "tests" Abraham and as a perfect picture of the coming sacrifice of God's only begotten Son (Yeshua - Jesus) God instructs Issac to go and sacrifice his son, Issac.  Where does he say to offer him?  On Moriah -- the exact location of the Temple Mount.
