Joined at the heart — loving God by loving others!

The title is borrowed from George’s morning devotional post. When reading it, I had a thought that might be helpful. We are to love the Lord and love our neighbor as ourselves. We are admonished in scripture to examine ourselves. Let’s take a moment to do that.

Do you find yourself desiring to help your neighbor? Does this naturally flow from Christ within? It should. Being aware of this we can approach the Lord for help as we grow in Him and get more and more ‘salty’.

Oh, the wonder of His Life!

And as His life in us grows, it will automatically cause us to want to do things toward serving others.  That's just the nature of the life of Christ in us!  We can look forward to this life changing us into His perfect image - which He has promised to do.  Our job is to be nourished and let His life in us grow and mature.

Indeed. I find satisfaction in looking after the needs of my neighbor, and the Lord blessed me by giving me work doing exactly that.

Everything that has happened in my life prepared me to dedicate myself exclusively to service: I don't have a wife nor any children, so I'm free in that regard; I don't own property nor am I vested in anything else, making it possible for me to go wherever the Lord bids me to go and do whatever He bids me to do.

I am not accountable to flesh and blood relations because they rejected me, and disowned me. 

I avoid appearances of taking "sides" in any conflict because I am a servant of all, not just those whose side I'm on. That's not my place. I know my place for the Lord has made a place for me. I belong to Him and Him alone. 

I never dared to dream that was even possible, brother.
