i don't see where anyone said they had anything against free speech. i saw someone saying they long for the day when they can walk and talk with the Lord and the vileness of free speach no longer assaults us.

that being said, i'd like to ask a question or two of atupak... first of all, how do you feel about the constitutional right of being able to freely express our faith in public being trampled on more and more in our country?

second.... casual believer... does that mean you believe in God but do not believe that Jesus is the son of God who was sent to earth as a human to suffer and die for our sins... your sins? do you not believe that Jesus was resurrected from the dead, defeating the grave, and is still very much alive today?

and third... would you like to know the Jesus that we know?

My free speech comment was directed towards the person who said "I am disappointed that this is even being tolerated at all." And what do mean about your right to express your faith being trampled on?

You pretty much summed up my beliefs about Jesus, LadyC. I don't believe he was the son of God, I don't think he was resurrected, and I don't think the Bible is the word of God, I think it is the word of men who followed God, and I believe that it should be taken symbolically rather than literally.

And I would love to be as confident in my beliefs as some of you are. However, I was not indoctrinated into the religion, so I think I'm able to look at it more rationally and objectively than you. That wasn't supposed to sound hostile, I just couldn't think of another way to say it.

Well, it goes without saying, that the newcomer reeks of heterophobia, bibliophobia and, yes, moralphobia beyond all doubt. Sounds like his "home church" is the homosexual "Metropolitan

Organization." Maybe he has never spent time with http://www.narth.org Birds of a feather...

I am confused, I am new here. I am not too sure who you were, are talking about???

"Why insist on tap-dancing 100 MPH around this particular issue? XLNT query."

I don't think that anybody at all was tap dancing around this issue, sir, with all due respect.

The Bible is 100% clear on this issue. God destroyed an entire city back in Genesis, conceivably because the city was engaged in homosexual behavior. One look at today's world, and we can't help but notice that the homosexual lifestyle was responsible for torching off one of the world's most deadly infectious diseases that we've ever seen. The Lord is saying something about all of this. Any Christian can see that, understands that.

I think sometimes there's the impression by a few that anyone that dares extend tolerance to the sinner stands against Christ and the message of the Bible. And there's some merit for such concern. As a Christian, afterall, if I was to invite non believers, homosexuals, liers and those stricken by the hand of greed into my home and do nothing to try to sway them away from the sinful nature by sharing with them the New Testament, I would find myself in trouble one day, without question.

Yet, who am I to turn away one that comes seeking Him, on the same hand, sir? To the individual that I addressed such commentary to, how do I know if I he has ever acted on his desires? How do I know if he plans to? How do I know how much he understands about the Faith?

The poster I was addressing had a cumulative total of six posts on this forum, half of which were made not on this topic/forum. I didn't locate his other posts. If he was attacking the faith in the other ones he made, than the approach to blundt condemnation would have been justified.

If, however, he doesn't know God, and he came here looking for Him, than perhaps it might not hurt to remind such people that the true path to Christ's heart is through Him, and that path only. While our words are needed to help others, I do not believe that we can provide others with the types of answers that only He can give them. The Holy Spirit is the only one that can do that.

According to one report, 90% of of today's adult film actresses were molested as children. Though I'm not a Psychologist, sir, I admit that my eyebrows go up a little bit when I read something like that. Yes, others were molested as children and never went on to participate in such a lifestyle, I understand that.

But at what point must we be reminded that we were told that we would be living in an evil world, one in which satan has a well established system set up to bring hurt and pain to others? We have our eyes, we have our intelligence. Certainly we can see the realities of this place that we live in. That is, if we choose to tackle such realities, rather than hide ourselves from them.

The Bible says that God hates sin, be it sexual misgivings/lifestyles, greed/deceipt, not honoring our parents, jealousy, etc. Despite all of our misgivings, however, He still loves us.

As servants to Christ, we are expected to speak the Truth and act upon others with Christ's love. The Christian is His servant, with an obligation to try to win over souls for Him.

As a Christian, I do think that He gives us some intelligence, too. I'm not speaking about scientific knowledge, etc, but the intelligence given to us by the Holy Spirit.

When a gentleman like this one comes calling, I think sometimes we might get ahead a little bit more by putting ourselves in their circumstance.

I've had a pretty good life. I've certainly messed up, but I have an exceptionally good family, one in which there has been great love. I consider that to be the greatest gift that He's given me in terms of any personal reward here on earth.

That said, I can't imagine to know what it would be like to have been molested as a child. I don't know what type of person I would have been had I grown up with alcoholic parents, or in a single family home. Now add a situation of poverty into that mix, as well as an env't where the child knew nothing of God, and suddenly, well, there's certainly not going to be any ego sitting on my shoulders when talking to such people. I couldn't begin to understand that type of background.

As these people become adults, though, they do come to recognize good from wrong. Many come to understand who/what God is. And that's when they might just come calling upon you for guidance/knowledge when it comes to Christianity.

Now imagine the scenario of a young girl that had been molested, one that grew up with alcoholism or drug use in the family. Look at our society, and one find the truth pretty quickly, I would imagine.

By the time she reaches her teen years she begins to drink, do drugs, and goodness knows what else. If she is able to complete high school at all, it's unlikely that she'll have any money for college, etc. Out of desperation, she joins those that have already fallen in satan's life, trap.

Satan works in many different ways. Certainly it's not the Lord's doing when our children fall ill with major diseases, nor is it His work when people fall victim to pornography addiction. Or those that grow up believing that they are homosexual. All of these things can be blamed on satan's doings. As Christians, it is our duty to get all of these victims back to God.

Pointing out individual sin is undoubtedly part of that. Homosexuality goes against the wishes of God. Every Christian knows that, he/she understands that.

The goal in this case and all others like it is to save the sinner, to show them the way to defeat satan.

Speaking the truth is certainly part of that. To forget about or ignore the fact that we also have the responsibility to show them the way how to overcome satan, that's something I will never do. Unless he came here to mock God, that means he came here looking for help. The type of help he might have been after can only be delivered by the Holy Spirit, we know that, and therefore it's our responsibility to tell them that portion of the truth, as well.

God loves His children, even those that have fallen into the grasps of sin. When one of satan's victims come looking for help and, in our judgement, he/she is genuinely looking for His path, and he/she has not come before us simply to mock, than we have an obligation to point them to the way of victory, that which can only occur by Him, through Him.

Homosexuality is a serious sin, one that is comparable to greed itself. It is a punishable offense for those that do not turn to Him. We're told that. Thankfully, we are also given the promise that the Holy Spirit will rescue any of those that come calling to Him with a genuine nature. I just hope that "Wrestling" caught that part before he left.

    • You are coming up higher in this season – above the assignments of character assassination and verbal arrows sent to manage you, contain you, and derail your purpose. Where you have had your dreams and sleep robbed, as well as your peace and clarity robbed – leaving you feeling foggy, confused, and heavy – God is, right now, bringing freedom back -- now you will clearly see the smoke and mirrors that were set to distract you and you will disengage.

Right now God is declaring a "no access zone" around you, and your enemies will no longer have any entry point into your life. Oil is being poured over you to restore the years that the locust ate and give you back your passion. This is where you will feel a fresh roar begin to erupt from your inner being, and a call to leave the trenches behind and begin your odyssey in your Christ calling moving you to bear fruit that remains as you minister to and disciple others into their Christ identity.

This is where you leave the trenches and scale the mountain to fight from a different place, from victory, from peace, and from rest. Now watch as God leads you up higher above all the noise, above all the chaos, and shows you where you have been seated all along with Him in heavenly places where you are UNTOUCHABLE. This is where you leave the soul fight, and the mind battle, and learn to fight differently.

You will know how to live like an eagle and lead others to the same place of safety and protection that God led you to, which broke you out of the silent prison you were in. Put your war boots on and get ready to fight back! Refuse to lay down -- get out of bed and rebuke what is coming at you. Remember where you are seated and live from that place.

Acts 1:8 - “But you will receive power when the Holy Spirit has come upon you, and you will be my witnesses … to the end of the earth.”

    • Understanding the Enemy!

I thought I write about the flip side of a topic, and how to recognize the attempts of the enemy to destroy lives and how you can walk in His victory!

For the Apostle Paul taught us not to be ignorant of enemy's tactics and strategies.

2 Corinthians 2:112  Lest Satan should get an advantage of us: for we are not ignorant of his devices.

So often, we can learn lessons by learning and playing "devil's" advocate.  When we read this passage,

Mar 3:26  And if Satan rise up against himself, and be divided, he cannot stand, but hath an end.
Mar 3:27  No man can enter into a strong man's house, and spoil his goods, except he will first bind the strongman; and then he will spoil his house.

Here we learn a lesson that in order to plunder one's house you must first BIND up the strongman.  While we realize in this particular passage this is referring to God binding up the strongman (Satan) and this is how Satan's house is plundered.  But if you carefully analyze the enemy -- you realize that he uses the same tactics on us!  Your house cannot be plundered -- unless you are first bound.   And then Satan can plunder your house!

    • Daniel: Pictures of the Resurrection, Part 3

    • Abraham and Issac: Pictures of the Resurrection, Part 2
      Shalom everyone,

As we continue this series the next obvious sign of the resurrection in the Old Testament is the sign of Isaac and Abraham.

Gen 22:1  After these things God tested Abraham and said to him, "Abraham!" And he said, "Here I am."
Gen 22:2  He said, "Take your son, your only son Isaac, whom you love, and go to the land of Moriah, and offer him there as a burnt offering on one of the mountains of which I shall tell you."

So God "tests" Abraham and as a perfect picture of the coming sacrifice of God's only begotten Son (Yeshua - Jesus) God instructs Issac to go and sacrifice his son, Issac.  Where does he say to offer him?  On Moriah -- the exact location of the Temple Mount.
