It's PETA.

It is supposed to stand for People for the Ethical Treatment of Animals. Their agenda is along the lines of people for the elevated treatment for animals. They put animals above man...that's backwards.

Gen 1:26 Then God said, "Let Us make man in Our image, according to Our likeness; and let them rule over the fish of the sea and over the birds of the sky and over the cattle and over all the earth, and over every creeping thing that creeps on the earth."

I like PITA bread. I find PETA repulsive.

So because this person tried to rid himself of a mouse in the fire, he deserved to have his house burnt down and destroyed by the mouse?

How do you feel about those who swat at flies and mosquitoes?

I believe you are taking this too far.

I am not advocating animal abuse, but I reckon disposing of a mouse found in your house is absolutely fine.

Have you ever seen the way a cat will play with a cornered mouse? Now that is a wee bit mean, IMHO.

God Bless,

Mrs. SE

Thank you for correcting my spelling. Understand that I did not say that PETA should file a law suit against him, only that I wouldn't be surprised if they did. They are activists after all and the more publicity they can get the better.

I fully understand the scripture regarding the creatures of the earth, however I don't think it justifies their cruel treatment. Do you suppose that the kings of old, because they ruled the people, were justified in sentencing people to burn to death? If we rule the animals and creepy crawly things of the earth that justifies toturing them at will?

So because this person tried to rid himself of a mouse in the fire, he deserved to have his house burnt down and destroyed by the mouse?

Perhaps its a bit extreme, but so was his method to rid himself of the mouse.

How do you feel about those who swat at flies and mosquitoes?

I admit I have no affinity for the creepy crawlies, but I would not care to see them suffer either. Swatting a mosquito or fly on the other hand cannot be considered suffering but rather a death more likely to be considered instant. Though the death of most living things is natural and even required that others may live, I don't see where pain is necessary.

I am not advocating animal abuse, but I reckon disposing of a mouse found in your house is absolutely fine.

Have you ever seen the way a cat will play with a cornered mouse? Now that is a wee bit mean, IMHO.

You mean to say that burning an animal to death is not animal abuse? If he had to get rid of the mouse he should have stepped on it which would be almost instant like with the fly or the mosquito. I have watched a cat play with a mouse, a killer whale with a sea lion and even saw a person put a bottle rocket in the mouth of a frog to see what it would do. I don't think that neither the mouse, sea lion or frog thought it was fun or fair in the least.

Bottom line, causing another creature unnecessary pain and suffering is wrong and taking pleasure in the pain of another creature, human or not, is simply evil.

Well, I for one, would have a most difficult time stepping on or squeezing the life out of a mouse.

I used to work in a small local candy and nut shop. We had a a few mouse traps set up. I couldn't even bring myself to empty them. The older women would sometimes drown the mouse in water.

While I agree that enjoying the suffering of animals is repugnant, I do not think throwing the mouse in the fire is much more friendly than squeezing or drowning it. I think that if you see fit to dispose of the pesty mouse in this manner, that is fine. Probably would of been nice to squeeze it first, but I would not of been able to bring myself to do that.

Thanks,

Mrs. SE

Ever had lobster?

In the end, it might have been a bit excessive. HOwever, let's be honest here....how many of us have set out mouse traps (which break their necks) or used poison (which makes them choke to death on their own vomit)?

And if we all get what we deserve, what do you suppose that might be?

It's a mouse. He was trying to dispose of it. Should he have employed another method? Would it change the fact that the mouse may suffer some? I wouldn't object on the grounds that it is not much more cruel than other methods of extermination and disposal.

If he enjoyed tormenting the poor mouse, then I would find that repugnant, not his method.

I actually find satisfaction from ridding the world of as many mosquitoes as I possibly can. No mercy to the mosquitoes. :)

Let's not get carried away with our sympathy for the mouse. The poor fellow's whole house and home was destroyed! I actually feel bad for the guy. He probably should of just let it go or squished or squeezed it to death. He paid dearly for his lack of foresight and all some of you want to do is accuse the man of thoughtless cruelty. Just cruel.

Does anyone actually know if he did this for enjoyment? I see no indication from the story that he did.

This is rather ridiculous.

Thanks,

Mrs. SE

    • You are coming up higher in this season – above the assignments of character assassination and verbal arrows sent to manage you, contain you, and derail your purpose. Where you have had your dreams and sleep robbed, as well as your peace and clarity robbed – leaving you feeling foggy, confused, and heavy – God is, right now, bringing freedom back -- now you will clearly see the smoke and mirrors that were set to distract you and you will disengage.

Right now God is declaring a "no access zone" around you, and your enemies will no longer have any entry point into your life. Oil is being poured over you to restore the years that the locust ate and give you back your passion. This is where you will feel a fresh roar begin to erupt from your inner being, and a call to leave the trenches behind and begin your odyssey in your Christ calling moving you to bear fruit that remains as you minister to and disciple others into their Christ identity.

This is where you leave the trenches and scale the mountain to fight from a different place, from victory, from peace, and from rest. Now watch as God leads you up higher above all the noise, above all the chaos, and shows you where you have been seated all along with Him in heavenly places where you are UNTOUCHABLE. This is where you leave the soul fight, and the mind battle, and learn to fight differently.

You will know how to live like an eagle and lead others to the same place of safety and protection that God led you to, which broke you out of the silent prison you were in. Put your war boots on and get ready to fight back! Refuse to lay down -- get out of bed and rebuke what is coming at you. Remember where you are seated and live from that place.

Acts 1:8 - “But you will receive power when the Holy Spirit has come upon you, and you will be my witnesses … to the end of the earth.”

    • Understanding the Enemy!

I thought I write about the flip side of a topic, and how to recognize the attempts of the enemy to destroy lives and how you can walk in His victory!

For the Apostle Paul taught us not to be ignorant of enemy's tactics and strategies.

2 Corinthians 2:112  Lest Satan should get an advantage of us: for we are not ignorant of his devices.

So often, we can learn lessons by learning and playing "devil's" advocate.  When we read this passage,

Mar 3:26  And if Satan rise up against himself, and be divided, he cannot stand, but hath an end.
Mar 3:27  No man can enter into a strong man's house, and spoil his goods, except he will first bind the strongman; and then he will spoil his house.

Here we learn a lesson that in order to plunder one's house you must first BIND up the strongman.  While we realize in this particular passage this is referring to God binding up the strongman (Satan) and this is how Satan's house is plundered.  But if you carefully analyze the enemy -- you realize that he uses the same tactics on us!  Your house cannot be plundered -- unless you are first bound.   And then Satan can plunder your house!

      Shalom everyone,

    • Abraham and Issac: Pictures of the Resurrection, Part 2
      Shalom everyone,

As we continue this series the next obvious sign of the resurrection in the Old Testament is the sign of Isaac and Abraham.

Gen 22:1  After these things God tested Abraham and said to him, "Abraham!" And he said, "Here I am."
Gen 22:2  He said, "Take your son, your only son Isaac, whom you love, and go to the land of Moriah, and offer him there as a burnt offering on one of the mountains of which I shall tell you."

So God "tests" Abraham and as a perfect picture of the coming sacrifice of God's only begotten Son (Yeshua - Jesus) God instructs Issac to go and sacrifice his son, Issac.  Where does he say to offer him?  On Moriah -- the exact location of the Temple Mount.
