Just today I was listening on the raido interview with a reproter from the Independent. (englands paper I think)

anway, saying how that the USA news is 6 months behind, consistantly, concerning Iraq. Said that the govt is Shiate (excuse sp please) in Iraq and most others have left and the lesser voted ones will have no power given them by the Shiate Muslim leaders,who were voted in and Iran is going to profit from this becuase they are Shiate, too. He says-So, we are building a strong Shiate in Iraq for Iran to have, seems to say we ware just strengthening Iran by al this.

Said this is the first war he ever covered where the other said won't tell anything to them because they will get killed.

Most others who could left Iraq. That Bhagdad is the most violent city in the entire world with a thousand dead bodies per month showing up and many in the morgue still with handcuffs on. Said when parent don't find their kids immediately after school they go into panics thinking they have been kidnapped and killed etc...Said there is essentially no govt there that the Iraq are driving about in old trucks that used to carry cabages becasue the govt money for the army was stolen. Said it is the most terrorist place there is. Ok, hearing all this, WHY build a strrong Shiate Musim Iraq to propser Iran soon??? IS the US strengtheing Iran anyway??what?! (just what I heard on radio, what have you heard or thought)

Any thoughts, no I don't want to debate, just hear any thought.

Somehow I don't see where keeping the American people in the dark about Iraq would do any good. This administration has enough troubles without the rest of the world saying we are clueless and lagging behind on current events. This administration/government knows full well what is going on at it is more likely that our news agencies are not giving some events/news the publicity needed. But I don't think anyone here can accuse American news agencies of risking anything to bring us the truth. These days the news is not about news, but ratings instead.

but this administration strives to keep news agencies from knowing whats going on. How many times has the administration expresssed its distrust/hatred of reporters. Remember when we were storming iraq, they set up a "press" office, and olcked the reporters in there and never told them a thing. the point was to keep them away from the action.

The government responds to public opinion. The key is to craft public opinion to do what they want.
