It's about the fact that you took the direct words, that this man is passing around the internet "The leaven of Paul", which is FALSE DOCTRINE and you "Unknowingly" and "Unintentionally" PASSED IT AROUND ALSO. I know that you had every good and pure motive by doing so, but...

You took the direct words, "The leaven of Paul", that he started on other boards, then you posted it here, so now he doesn't even have to come to this board to post it because now you have did it for him!

 Well, since you are bringing up this issue about how to present information, may I ask what you would suggest doing then?

Consider: Someone reads something that grieves him (or her -but I'll keep it simple and use the generic "him), but he himself does not know how to respond, and so he wants to share this with his fellowship (the people on this board are a fellowship, too, you know). So, he shares this information as both a warning and a plea for help.

Now, he has two immediate options. He can show the exact words or he can paraphrase what was said. The advantage of showing the exact words are that there is no question to the hearer what is going on. The disadvantage to the paraphrase is that a person's paraphrase may be biased, incomplete, unclear, etc. So, the poster may find himself having to provide a link to the page containg the statement anyway - because more often then not people will either be confused or want to understand better to judge for themselves or refute the claims for themselves. So, either way, the heretical claims are presented on this board.

So, if you were unable to (or didn't have the confidence to) make a stand against the false claims directly, and you wanted to present this concern to the body of belieivers here for warning and assistance, how would you have gone about doing it?

Ok Nebula

Is it our job as a believer IN CHRIST to find FALSE DOCTRINE to refute?

Or are we to be focused on encouraging and edifying one another WITH TRUTH?

We are instructed to dwell on these things..

Whatever is TRUE

Whatever is HONORABLE

Whatever is RIGHT

Whatever is PURE

Whatever is LOVELY

Whatever is of GOOD REPORT

... not whatever is false, wrong, of bad report, etc.

I said it before on another thread..."There are more consumed with looking for the false to refute and dispute, then looking for the true. That is not what we are called to do.

Jesus never looked for the false to refute..... He already KNEW the false. And we, that are IN Christ will KNOW them too!

Sometimes it is our job to edify and encourage one another with truth BY REFUTING that which is false. Sometimes the building up process requires a little tearing down first. You wouldn't always remodel a house without doing a little demolition to remove the worn out, broken items first. You sometimes need to rip and tear a little and get rid of the bad in order to put in place the good.

In this day and age, false teachings and false prophecies are a dime a dozen. Believers need to be able to spot them, and correct them...and yes even sometimes make others in the body aware so they do not fall into the same traps.

Edification comes in many ways. Yes, we are to follow Philippians 4:8 in our thinking...but there are other scriptures talking about "rightly handling the Word of truth" and "destructive heresy" too. And we live in a world filled with heresy, even in the so-called Christian camps.

We must strive for balance in our belief...not so aloof and removed thinking that everything is fine so long as we spend all our waking hours in prayer and study, yet not so far to the other extreme that we become known as heresy hunters, cracking back on all sorts and causing more harm to ourselves and others with a judgemental attitude.

I agree - but Cats wasn't looking for false doctrines to refute. She was reading a board and SPLAT! there it was.

Jesus never looked for the false to refute.....

But Jesus did refute the false that came His way. ("You have heard it said . . . . But I say . . . ." "Do you think these men were worse sinners than everyone else? . . ." "Woe to you, Pharisees/Scribes/ Teachers of the Law . . . .")

Likewise, the Epistles contain several passages refuting false doctrines.

He already KNEW the false. And we, that are IN Christ will KNOW them too!

Am I hearing you correctly in that you are claiming that once a person is in Christ he is immune to deception? Voice, please, if you believe you are immune to deception, I must warn you, "take heed lest you fall." Pride has a nasty way of leaving your back exposed to the enemy, and you never recognize you have been hit. We are told to "work out [our] salvation with fear and trembling," and to "take up [our] cross daily." There is no such thing as our arriving at perfection here on Earth, else we would not be told these things. "There is none righteous, no not one." Please don't let yourself fall prey to this lie that you have "all knowledge" and "all understanding" just because you have been "given the mind of Christ." That's a dangerous misinterpretation of the passage. You need brothers and sisters watching your back just as much as everyone else, for we all still live in this body of flesh and are prone to its weaknesses.

Grace!

We must strive for balance in our belief...

I think I must've said this to VOG a dozen or more times in previous posts...balance. That's not something he is able to hear right now.

... not whatever is false, wrong, of bad report, etc

VOG's quote above here is ironic because from his first post on, he has not ceased in bringing bad reports and accusations against the people at Worthy Boards.

He's filled with criticisms and biting reports about what's wrong with us...and how God's going to deal with us accordingly. NOTHING but negative reports.

When I insist that we have a loving, tightknit community of believers, he insists that God told him the opposite.

If anybody is specializes in neagative reports - it's the one who calls himself rather bodly, "The Voice of God"...

Scroll through his 13 official "messages" from God and find the continuous negativity that continues to find fault with a bunch of people he knew absolutely nothing about..(and still doesn't).

This seems the ultimate in hypocrisy...

This again is not true!

From the git go here on worthy boards, I have posted prophetic words and words to encourage us all here to BECOME CLOSER AND MORE INTIMATE with God. The words that I have post are designed to destroy the works of the devil and bring us all CLOSER to God. They also are designed to bring conviction to the hearer causing them to repent and forgive which will ultimately allow them to hear God more clearly and come into a deeper KNOWING OF GOD.

The problem is, the truth is something some just do not like to hear!

I invite everyone to go back over the 14 words that I have posted and find just exactly what negative reports were being said? If you read them again with an open heart and pure motive you shall hear the true word being relayed that will ultimately challenge and encourage us to get closer to God and to one another.

CONVICTION is actually a blessing to us. People that are CLOSE TO GOD are not easily offended!

Here is a great example of some recieving CONVICTION from a word God gave me, that I was also convicted on.. re-read all the posts in this thread.. Word #8

It's best you do that Cats. We don't want to argue with each other anymore.

It's not Christ-like. Good Decision. ;)

Ahhhh....

Thing is, there's a point of agreement here, but someone isn't seeing it.

Things like conviction, refuting of false teaching, etc., do a little tearing away in order to build up. It's like I said about a remodeling project, or it's like a fruit tree...pruning of dead branches, etc., to gain more and better fruit.

*sigh* dead horses are no fun to ride.

    • You are coming up higher in this season – above the assignments of character assassination and verbal arrows sent to manage you, contain you, and derail your purpose. Where you have had your dreams and sleep robbed, as well as your peace and clarity robbed – leaving you feeling foggy, confused, and heavy – God is, right now, bringing freedom back -- now you will clearly see the smoke and mirrors that were set to distract you and you will disengage.

Right now God is declaring a "no access zone" around you, and your enemies will no longer have any entry point into your life. Oil is being poured over you to restore the years that the locust ate and give you back your passion. This is where you will feel a fresh roar begin to erupt from your inner being, and a call to leave the trenches behind and begin your odyssey in your Christ calling moving you to bear fruit that remains as you minister to and disciple others into their Christ identity.

This is where you leave the trenches and scale the mountain to fight from a different place, from victory, from peace, and from rest. Now watch as God leads you up higher above all the noise, above all the chaos, and shows you where you have been seated all along with Him in heavenly places where you are UNTOUCHABLE. This is where you leave the soul fight, and the mind battle, and learn to fight differently.

You will know how to live like an eagle and lead others to the same place of safety and protection that God led you to, which broke you out of the silent prison you were in. Put your war boots on and get ready to fight back! Refuse to lay down -- get out of bed and rebuke what is coming at you. Remember where you are seated and live from that place.

Acts 1:8 - “But you will receive power when the Holy Spirit has come upon you, and you will be my witnesses … to the end of the earth.”

    • Understanding the Enemy!

I thought I write about the flip side of a topic, and how to recognize the attempts of the enemy to destroy lives and how you can walk in His victory!

For the Apostle Paul taught us not to be ignorant of enemy's tactics and strategies.

2 Corinthians 2:112  Lest Satan should get an advantage of us: for we are not ignorant of his devices.

So often, we can learn lessons by learning and playing "devil's" advocate.  When we read this passage,

Mar 3:26  And if Satan rise up against himself, and be divided, he cannot stand, but hath an end.
Mar 3:27  No man can enter into a strong man's house, and spoil his goods, except he will first bind the strongman; and then he will spoil his house.

Here we learn a lesson that in order to plunder one's house you must first BIND up the strongman.  While we realize in this particular passage this is referring to God binding up the strongman (Satan) and this is how Satan's house is plundered.  But if you carefully analyze the enemy -- you realize that he uses the same tactics on us!  Your house cannot be plundered -- unless you are first bound.   And then Satan can plunder your house!

    • Abraham and Issac: Pictures of the Resurrection, Part 2
      Shalom everyone,

As we continue this series the next obvious sign of the resurrection in the Old Testament is the sign of Isaac and Abraham.

Gen 22:1  After these things God tested Abraham and said to him, "Abraham!" And he said, "Here I am."
Gen 22:2  He said, "Take your son, your only son Isaac, whom you love, and go to the land of Moriah, and offer him there as a burnt offering on one of the mountains of which I shall tell you."

So God "tests" Abraham and as a perfect picture of the coming sacrifice of God's only begotten Son (Yeshua - Jesus) God instructs Issac to go and sacrifice his son, Issac.  Where does he say to offer him?  On Moriah -- the exact location of the Temple Mount.
