I hope they win and have this sale cancelled. Its not an issue of who is "responsible" but of who is physically running security. Thats all we need to do is to give the terrorists a back door to smuggle weapons, among things, into our country.

Comon' folks...give me a break! This is a bipartisan concern...not Repubs vs Dems. Both are taking an INTELLIGENT stand against this pathetic and ridiculous assault on our security.

Why on earth are we fighting terrorism in Iraq (where they never even participated in 9/11) on the presumption that they had WMD, and we:

1. Have our borders WIDE OPEN (I know, I live on the Mexican/New Mexican border and see this outside my own house...I live 1/2 mile from the Rio Grande)

and...

2. We're outsourcing our PORT SECURITY to Muslims.

Sorry...but some things that make you go..."Hmmmmm"......

BTW, I AM Republican and DID vote for Bush and DID support the war initially. I've just had to do some serious soul searching...

I dunno. I was agains this, until I heard from all sides, now I am thinking there is a whole lot of grandstanding from both sides. Here's an interesting story:

Wow! Bush has never vetoe'd a single bill!! First president since Harding to not veto anything during a term in office, and it's particularly telling as Harding DIED 6 months into his term!!!

Bush must be really digging in his heals for his Saudi, Emirates and other OPEC buddies!

Cats: Although they are taking (as you accurately point out) an intelligent stand, it has only been done after they've clearly seen the way public opinion is going. I'd rather have seen them take a 'principled' stand........

Being a hardcore Bush supporter, I have no clue what he was thinking although this story is still young and I never rely on our media to tell the whole story. But as of now I'm against this action by Bush.

Also, why the heck do we have foreign nations controlling OUR ports?

Hmm.... I heard about it about a week ago, maybe a little more. And I was wondering for several days why it wasn't THE big story. Seems that until the groundswell started, most of the media wanted to ignore it, in favor of the 'nothing' story of V.P. Cheney accidentally spraying a friend with bird shot! In short, the forces in the media WANT Moslem control of our ports!!!

If Bush vetos any bill meant to stop the port deal he may find himself looking at impeachment. Some democrats have been pushing for this, over the wire tapping thing, and this may be reason enough for for more to support his removal on these grounds.
