News: The Ports Deal Is All Politics

Two stories that may shed light on this issue:

1. Democrats are using the Dubai Ports World deal to refute Republican accusations that Democrats are soft on national security, the Boston Globe reported on Tuesday. Read the whole story here.

2. An additional 45-day government review of the controversial bid by a Dubai-owned company to operate some terminals at six U.S. ports will do nothing to change the minds of congressional Democrats like U.S. Rep. Nancy Pelosi, the House minority leader.

NO foreign nation should be handling our ports. The Bible says that when God curses a people "your enemies will control your gates.' Certainly ports are 'gates' to a nation. Even a very friendly nation should not be responsible for so much of our security.

I realize the Port Authority will still be handling 'security' for us, but imagine if Moslems (whose religion commands them to kill us) get control of the cargo Manifests and Invoices! I can just picture them talking with the Port Authority one January morning: "What? That ship that's GLOWING out there? Oh that's just a new style paint Syria is using these days. Here, look; the manifest says it's just hauling kipper snacks!"

The Port Authority bureaucrat--realizing it's 19 degrees and sleeting with 40 MPH winds--decides this is a good morning to just put his rubber stamp on the Invoice without going outside to look in the cargo hold......

It's about them writing checks to our guys for off-loading their cargo. Even Bill Frist has changed his mind on the deal. I don't think we, as Americans, need to be so fearful.

C'mon.....this is a legitimate concern. The company is anti-Israel and has people working for it that are anti-American. The only "politics" involved here are the die-hard republicans who think Bush is Christ incarnite.

It's not ridiculous at all. Look at how some people react to what he does. THey act as if though Bush is never wrong. Guess what, on this port deal, he is wrong. There is no such thing as a "Muslim Ally." All Muslims, like it or not, are our enemies becaues that is where their religion puts them. Bush can be wrong people, I know that might suprise everyone, but he is actually fallible!

It's just that I see Israel supporters saying, "Oh Bush has his reasons for what he's doing with Israel" and now this.....Bush is fallible and I wish people would see that.
