I was wondering if anyone would to share a song of which has encouraged them in some way, God has used, or touched you heart. I guess I coudl start with one that has become a favorite of mine...

"We Preach Christ"

We are the church - the chosen bride of Christ

We have the imprint of His cross upon our lives

The highest price was paid

When the Lamb of God was made

The perfect and most holy sacrifice

We have one purpose, on mission

One reason to remain

To raise the cross of Jesus, and magnify His name

We preach Christ, who was crucified and risen from the grave

We preach Christ, the only one who has the strength to save

The message we proclaim is the power of His Name

We preach Christ

We are the voice that cries the truth today

And of this truth we shall never be ashamed

Though many doubters rise and reject the claims of Christ

God's unchanging Word will still remain

We have this moment, this hour

To seek and save the lost

To preach the name of Jesus, and point them to the cross

We preach Christ, who was crucified and risen from the grave

We preach Christ, the only one who has the strength to save

The message we proclaim is the power of His Name

We preach Christ

So we lift the cross of Jesus for all the world to see

The message of salvation to all who will believe

We preach Christ, who was crucified and risen from the grave

We preach Christ, the only one who has the strength to save

The message we proclaim is the power of His Name

We preach Christ

We preach Christ

We preach Christ!

God has truly used Casting Crowns' song "I'll Praise You in the storm" to speak to my heart as i heal from the season i have been in this past year of my life. I can honestly say that i have lifted my hands up to God, worshipped God and surrendered the "storm" to Him. Are we allowed to post lyrics? If yes, then i will modify post and include lyrics. Okay ~ All the credit goes to God for giving the author and musicians of this song the talent, and thank you Casting Crowns for having a desire to sing this song so that many would draw closer to our Saviour at ALL times. :)

"Praise You in this storm"

I was sure by now God You would have reached down and wiped our tears away, stepped in and saved the day. But once again, I say amen that it's still raining as the thunder rolls, i barely hear Your whisper through the rain. I'm with you and as Your mercy falls I raise my hands and praise the God who gives and takes away.

Chorus

And I'll praise You in this storm and I will lift my hands that You are who You are no matter where I am and every tear I've cried You hold in Your hand You never left my side and though my heart is torn I will praise You in this storm. I remember when I stumbled in the wind You heard my cry You raised me up again my strength is almost gone how can I carry on if I can't find You and as the thunder rolls I barely hear You whisper through the rain I'm with You and as Your mercy falls I raise my hands and praise the God who gives and takes away.

Chorus

I lift my eyes unto the hills where does my help come from? My help comes from the LORD, the Maker of heaven and earth. I lift my eyes unto the hills where does my help come from? My help comes from the LORD, the Maker of heaven and earth.

Yeah, I'm pretty sure we're allowed to post lyrics, so long as credit is given where it's due and the lyrics themselves are not offensive.

One that touched me recently (OK, since the album came out) is U2's song "Yahweh" on the album How to Dismantle an Atomic Bomb:

"Take these shoes

Click clacking down some dead end street

Take these shoes and make them fit

Take this shirt

Polyester white trash made in nowhere

Take this shirt and make it clean, clean

Take this soul

Stranded in some skin and bones

Take this soul and make it sing, sing

Yahweh, Yahweh

Always pain before a child is born

Yahweh, Yahweh

Still I

"I can only imagine" speaks to me.

I really wonder what it will be like when we first see Jesus.

Mathew West~ Only Grace

There is no guilt here

There is no shame

No pointing fingers

There is no blame

What happened yesterday has disappeared

The dirt has washed away

And now it's clear

Chorus: There's only grace

There's only love

There's only mercy and believe me it's enough

Your sins are gone

Without a trace

There's nothing left now

There's only grace

You're starting over now

Under the sun

You're stepping forward now

A new life has begun

Your new life has begun

(chorus)

And if you should fall again

Get back up, get back up

Reach out and take my hand

Get back up, get back up

Get back up again

repeat chorus

~This song really spoke to me today cuz I've been having trouble with actually beleiveing that I am forgiven so this song was awesome today. I really like the U2 song too~

The song i chose to have at my baptism after i had come out of the water was "Beautiful Saviour" i chose this song as it spoke of the way the lord had showed himself to me. it was a song that brought me out of the darkness i use to live in. overwhelmed everytime i hear it xxx, find it and listen to it, its fab

Stuart Townend - Beautiful Saviour

All my days i will sing this song of gladness

give my praise to the fountain of delights

for in my helplessness you heard my cry

and waves of mercy poured down on my life

i will trust in the cross of my redeemer

i will sing of the blood that never fails

of sins forgiven, of consience cleansed

of death defeated and life without end

Beautiful saviour, wonderful councellor,

clothed in majesty lord of history,

your the way the truth the life, star of the morning

gloriess in holiness your th risen one, heavens champion,

and you reign, u reign over all

i will trust in the cross of my redeemer

i will sing of the blood that never fails

of sins forgiven of concience cleansed

of death defeated and life without end

your the beautiful saviour....

singing songs of love

join with the angels

join with the saints

he is our lord

i long to be where the praise is never ending

yearn to dwell where the glory fails,

i long to be where the praise is never ending

yearn to dwell where the gloary never fails

where countless worshippers will share one song

and cries of worthy will honour the lamb

your the beautiful saviour....

Me again!! :) Another song i want to share, just cos i think its a great contemporary song with very simple words, yet a very good message in it. thats my view anyway. makes me remember that i need to remember that god is in charge, whether i like it or not and i need to let go of the wheel and let him take control, cos without him i will fail time and time again and when i do let him take control my life will be blessed in a way i could never imagine xx

Newsboys - Lord i don't know

You are the author of knowledge

You can redeem what's been done

You hold the present and all that's to come

Until your everlasting kingdom

chorus:

Lord I don't know where all this is going

or how it all works out

lead me to peace that is past understanding

A peace beyond all doubt

You are the God of tomorrow

Turning the darkness to dawn

Lifting the hopeless with hope to go on

You are the rock of all salvation

chorus

Ohh Lord, you are the author

Redeeming what's been done

You hold us in the present

And all that is to come

Lord we don't know where all this is going

Or how it all works out

Lead us to peace that is past understanding

A peace beyond all doubt

(3x til fade)

    • You are coming up higher in this season – above the assignments of character assassination and verbal arrows sent to manage you, contain you, and derail your purpose. Where you have had your dreams and sleep robbed, as well as your peace and clarity robbed – leaving you feeling foggy, confused, and heavy – God is, right now, bringing freedom back -- now you will clearly see the smoke and mirrors that were set to distract you and you will disengage.

Right now God is declaring a "no access zone" around you, and your enemies will no longer have any entry point into your life. Oil is being poured over you to restore the years that the locust ate and give you back your passion. This is where you will feel a fresh roar begin to erupt from your inner being, and a call to leave the trenches behind and begin your odyssey in your Christ calling moving you to bear fruit that remains as you minister to and disciple others into their Christ identity.

This is where you leave the trenches and scale the mountain to fight from a different place, from victory, from peace, and from rest. Now watch as God leads you up higher above all the noise, above all the chaos, and shows you where you have been seated all along with Him in heavenly places where you are UNTOUCHABLE. This is where you leave the soul fight, and the mind battle, and learn to fight differently.

You will know how to live like an eagle and lead others to the same place of safety and protection that God led you to, which broke you out of the silent prison you were in. Put your war boots on and get ready to fight back! Refuse to lay down -- get out of bed and rebuke what is coming at you. Remember where you are seated and live from that place.

Acts 1:8 - “But you will receive power when the Holy Spirit has come upon you, and you will be my witnesses … to the end of the earth.”

    • Understanding the Enemy!

I thought I write about the flip side of a topic, and how to recognize the attempts of the enemy to destroy lives and how you can walk in His victory!

For the Apostle Paul taught us not to be ignorant of enemy's tactics and strategies.

2 Corinthians 2:112  Lest Satan should get an advantage of us: for we are not ignorant of his devices.

So often, we can learn lessons by learning and playing "devil's" advocate.  When we read this passage,

Mar 3:26  And if Satan rise up against himself, and be divided, he cannot stand, but hath an end.
Mar 3:27  No man can enter into a strong man's house, and spoil his goods, except he will first bind the strongman; and then he will spoil his house.

Here we learn a lesson that in order to plunder one's house you must first BIND up the strongman.  While we realize in this particular passage this is referring to God binding up the strongman (Satan) and this is how Satan's house is plundered.  But if you carefully analyze the enemy -- you realize that he uses the same tactics on us!  Your house cannot be plundered -- unless you are first bound.   And then Satan can plunder your house!

    • Abraham and Issac: Pictures of the Resurrection, Part 2
      Shalom everyone,

As we continue this series the next obvious sign of the resurrection in the Old Testament is the sign of Isaac and Abraham.

Gen 22:1  After these things God tested Abraham and said to him, "Abraham!" And he said, "Here I am."
Gen 22:2  He said, "Take your son, your only son Isaac, whom you love, and go to the land of Moriah, and offer him there as a burnt offering on one of the mountains of which I shall tell you."

So God "tests" Abraham and as a perfect picture of the coming sacrifice of God's only begotten Son (Yeshua - Jesus) God instructs Issac to go and sacrifice his son, Issac.  Where does he say to offer him?  On Moriah -- the exact location of the Temple Mount.
