Ok, I must have read your first post wrong, it seemed like you were going around trying to shove it in people faces. Sorry.

...and religion I should have said, but you can't deny that the environment you live in doesnt have a huge effect on it. What if your parents were atheists? this most likely will lead you to despise religion.

In some societies all of those things are condoned.

Your morals are based on your environment, so they are not absolute.

So if you are digusted with someone, you're telling me you're going to go right ahead and tell them? what about Jesus? all of his teachings on kindness? do they mean nothing to you? acceptance?

I like this picture.

Hey everyone!

Once again, I am back with another treasure of the public school system of this corrupted world  tehe This isn't meant for a debate is to whether or not homosexuality is right or wrong.. however, this post is based on the fact that homosexuality is a sin.. and in my opinion(no offense to anyone... ) is very disgusting...

However, here is the situation. There are two girls within the program at my school(IB.. or International Baccalaurette) where the whole idea of the program is tolerance. Hence, it seems as though I am fighting a losing battle. However, someone posted on one of the threads that tolerance isn't believing that everyone's belief is just as right as your own, but rather, accepting that everyone has a different belief and getting along with them... maybe this has nothing to do with the topic, and yet, it may have everything(the first idea of tolerance is constantly shoved down our throats.. actually, daily). Well.. there are two girls within this program, of whom will remian anonymous, who I recently saw today holding hands in the hallway. I thought nothign of it the first time, but at the end of the day when I saw it again, I asked one of them(the other girl had a different class). She asked me why, and I said I was just curious. Then she said that she was her girlfriend...

help??? These are girls that I have known for the past two years, one of which just had a boyfriend that previous week, and I dont' know what to think. It seems one thing to imagine a guy and a guy or a girl and a girl together.. it is another to see it.. and it is a whole nother story when these two are really close to your heart and you fully diagree with it. It turns my stomach upside down...

I don't know how to act around them anymore.. my initial reaction is disgust.. but what can i do? These are people that I have been and will be forced to work with in groups for the next two and half years. I don't know how to feel around them.. what to think.. or what they say.. they have heard the gospel and openly deny its truths.. actually.. one of them claimed salvation aroudn the beginnnign of last year.. and yet still asked me why I acted a certain way...

I am confused, stunned, and sickened all at the same time.. any ideas?

~Crystal

crystal,

i don't think i have any good advice except to pray for these girls that you have known and cared about. tolerance should mean that we do not fight over our differences...not that we ignore them. obviously you disagree and rightly so. i don't think you have to hide your beliefs. i do think that we ought to treat others respectfully and love our neighbors. it is GOD Himself that draws us to Himself. unfortunately we cannot change or save our friends. the power of prayer however, is huge. if you hold these girls up to the Father and leave it in His hands, you have done no wrong. you can probably talk with them and tell them your concerns, but be careful if it turns into arguing. try to love them while you hate what they are doing.

again, that may be completely unhelpful, but it seems realistic. i hope they come around.

amber.

Hey, thanks Amber  That was really inspiring an encouraging.. especially after a long day.. thankyou so much for your words and your kindness

Hey Twilightki, lol, I am sorry for the confusion as I am not the best with words and I can see how it woudl sound that way. It's alright, I am sorry.

*cough cough* If ym parenst were athiest??:):t2: tehe lol

Sorry, my dad is athiest, but claims to be a born-again Hindu as a jock and a mockery of God. My mom claims to have gone to church when she was little, and she will claim she is saved, but wants nothing to do with church. My brother is a professed athiest, and it has taken seven long years at church.. the Lord has been working on him, I know, because he has been asking variosu questions about God. I didn't grow up going to to church, a firend invited me when I was 8 to VBS. Trust me... my environmetn has nothign to do with it

Well, for most people then. Everyone is different.

If you tell someone they are gay and its wrong, they're not going to listen to you. Whethre you believe it or not, being gay is not a choice, theyre not going to just change. Just think what you think, fine. Everyone is entitle to have their views. Keep your mouth shut about it. You'll eventually get used to it as long as you stop pushing it away.

I disagree. even if you want to use the copout "i was born that way" its still a choice to continue to live that way

Would you say that to a mentally retarded person?

lol, we meet again Twilightki :)

A person with a mental disability is born that way and that cannot be changed because it is a physical ailment. However, they attempt to learn how to get along in this world. Are you saying that homosexuality is a mental disability? I never thought of that

Let's try a different approach. We are all born as sinners because "by one man sin entered into the world". However, Jesus died on the cross and the bible says that are now free from the bondages of sin. We, as sinners, live a sinful lifestyle. However, God is constantly stayign by us, helping us to grow, pruning us, and guiding us in the right path in order to rid that sin in our lives(Jesus cleansed us from sin, but we still continue in sin.. becasue we are flesh). Homosexuality, as said in the bible that it is an abomination for man to lay with mankind as with womankind." Born with homosexuality or not, it can be escaped through the blood of Christ.

No, im not saying it's a mental disability. I'm saying that gay people cannot change. You can't change what someone is sexually and emotionally attracted to. And anyone who claims to have been a gay person, and changed, is a liar trying to support their belief that homosexuality is wrong.

    • You are coming up higher in this season – above the assignments of character assassination and verbal arrows sent to manage you, contain you, and derail your purpose. Where you have had your dreams and sleep robbed, as well as your peace and clarity robbed – leaving you feeling foggy, confused, and heavy – God is, right now, bringing freedom back -- now you will clearly see the smoke and mirrors that were set to distract you and you will disengage.

Right now God is declaring a "no access zone" around you, and your enemies will no longer have any entry point into your life. Oil is being poured over you to restore the years that the locust ate and give you back your passion. This is where you will feel a fresh roar begin to erupt from your inner being, and a call to leave the trenches behind and begin your odyssey in your Christ calling moving you to bear fruit that remains as you minister to and disciple others into their Christ identity.

This is where you leave the trenches and scale the mountain to fight from a different place, from victory, from peace, and from rest. Now watch as God leads you up higher above all the noise, above all the chaos, and shows you where you have been seated all along with Him in heavenly places where you are UNTOUCHABLE. This is where you leave the soul fight, and the mind battle, and learn to fight differently.

You will know how to live like an eagle and lead others to the same place of safety and protection that God led you to, which broke you out of the silent prison you were in. Put your war boots on and get ready to fight back! Refuse to lay down -- get out of bed and rebuke what is coming at you. Remember where you are seated and live from that place.

Acts 1:8 - “But you will receive power when the Holy Spirit has come upon you, and you will be my witnesses … to the end of the earth.”

    • Understanding the Enemy!

I thought I write about the flip side of a topic, and how to recognize the attempts of the enemy to destroy lives and how you can walk in His victory!

For the Apostle Paul taught us not to be ignorant of enemy's tactics and strategies.

2 Corinthians 2:112  Lest Satan should get an advantage of us: for we are not ignorant of his devices.

So often, we can learn lessons by learning and playing "devil's" advocate.  When we read this passage,

Mar 3:26  And if Satan rise up against himself, and be divided, he cannot stand, but hath an end.
Mar 3:27  No man can enter into a strong man's house, and spoil his goods, except he will first bind the strongman; and then he will spoil his house.

Here we learn a lesson that in order to plunder one's house you must first BIND up the strongman.  While we realize in this particular passage this is referring to God binding up the strongman (Satan) and this is how Satan's house is plundered.  But if you carefully analyze the enemy -- you realize that he uses the same tactics on us!  Your house cannot be plundered -- unless you are first bound.   And then Satan can plunder your house!

    • Abraham and Issac: Pictures of the Resurrection, Part 2
      Shalom everyone,

As we continue this series the next obvious sign of the resurrection in the Old Testament is the sign of Isaac and Abraham.

Gen 22:1  After these things God tested Abraham and said to him, "Abraham!" And he said, "Here I am."
Gen 22:2  He said, "Take your son, your only son Isaac, whom you love, and go to the land of Moriah, and offer him there as a burnt offering on one of the mountains of which I shall tell you."

So God "tests" Abraham and as a perfect picture of the coming sacrifice of God's only begotten Son (Yeshua - Jesus) God instructs Issac to go and sacrifice his son, Issac.  Where does he say to offer him?  On Moriah -- the exact location of the Temple Mount.
