The sons of God; be they angels, or be they men?

There are few references to the sons of God in the Bible.

There are two in Genesis 6 that refer to the sons of God taking the daughters of men for wives.

There are three in Job, two occurring on two separate days when the sons of God presented themselves before the Lord with Satan among them; the third occurring at the laying of the foundations of the world when the morning stars sang together, and all the sons of God shouted for joy.

All these references to the sons of God in the Old Testament are thought to refer to angels.

There are six in the New Testament, one in John chapter 1, two in Romans chapter 8, one in Philippians chapter 2, and two in 1 John chapter 3.

These references all refer to the saved of mankind.

There are 47 occurrences of the phrase Son of God. These all refer to Jesus, with the exception of one occurrence. That single occurrence is referring to Adam. But in the reference to Adam, the son is not capitalized.

The question that comes up in my mind is this. What is the difference between Man and Angel, with the obvious exception that angels dwell in heaven and men dwell on earth.

There is a second difference in that Man is separated as male and female, while Angel is not.

But when we get to heaven both distinctions are removed.

In heaven we are as the angels.

And before Adam was separated into Adam and Eve, Adam was like the angels with the exception of dwelling on the earth. The one became two, and the two shall be as one.

Man and Angel are the same except for these two things.

Man and Angel can even procreate; they are of the same species.

The difference is merely the world in which we live.

I believe there is much difference between Man and Angel. One are the capability of performing miracles and doing great wonders. Benny Hinn may be the only exception  But seriously the power they move in is not of the flesh. 2 Peter 2:11 yet even angels, although they are stronger and more powerful, do not bring slanderous accusations against such beings in the presence of the Lord. THis is a difference when compared to the human. THey are also immortal.

We and the angels are made in God's image. You can put an image on most any substrate, that doen't make the substrate the image it portrays.

When we die and the dead are risen we will be like the angels.

Are not all angels ministering spirits sent to serve those who will inherit salvation?

Colossians 2:18

Do not let anyone who delights in false humility and the worship of angels disqualify you for the prize. Such a person goes into great detail about what he has seen, and his unspiritual mind puffs him up with idle notions.

All angels are ministering spirits sent to serve those who will inherit salvation? Then what of the fallen angels that decieve humanity?

What of Satan?

2 Corinthians 11:14 And no marvel; for Satan himself is transformed into an angel of light. 15 Therefore it is no great thing if his ministers also be transformed as the ministers of righteousness; whose end shall be according to their works.

Yes, the angels are more powerful and do not die, and we shall also be more powerful and shall not taste of death again when we become as the angels in heaven. So those distinctions are again dependant on the world in which we live, here or in heaven.

Don't forget, not all shall die before we all are changed.

Ok , I'll bite. If the only difference is the world we live in, then what is you point!

Essentially the same point I have been trying to make with the serpent thread and the thread about Lucifer.

That when referring to the sons of God, the serpent, the devil, Satan, Man, angels, the Bible is referring to us.

But it is referring to us from different points of our existance in the overall scheme of things. From a view outside of time, so to speak.

All you have to do is change the viewpoint from either here or heaven, before or after the fall, etc.

Well excuse me!

For your information all your posts have been censored and trashed. I don't have them available for reference. My apologies. I guess you will have to remind me of your points if the MOD team seems incapable of letting things lay where they fall.

Well, give me a bit of time, as I am at work and actually have some work to do today. And I have not saved any of my previous stuff.

I too think it is a shame that they kill posts just as we are getting into a discussion, but my ideas seem go against what they have been taught for so many years. They see me more as a disrupting influence, than someone that may shed any light of Truth.

So your saying that the sons of God, serpent, devil ,satan, man, and angels all share the same biology namely all humanoid. The only difference is their residence.

Duane Duane Duane - now you're going for the front door again. Front door, side door, back door. Are windows next?

I don't think your considered disruptive Duane. You are spreading false doctrine. That's worse.

I'm sorry, Duane, but yout posts do not shed any light of truth. They lack solid Biblical foundation and are, for the most part, presumptuous. The Bible enever says that angels are human, or that Adam was the serpent, or that Satan is a man, etc.

The reason your posts have been deleted is not because they stir up controversy, but that they are a means of spreading falsities about the Bible. You are not merely asking questions here, but asserting your error, and calling it truth. If you wish to read, learn and ask questions, fine. But please do not attempt to spread such falsities under the guise of merely asking questons. Most folks here are more intelligent than that. And to be truthful, many folks here are just tired of arguing. If you refuse to accept correction from fellow believers and instead chose to argue, why even bother in the first place? Seeking the truth to these issues is ultimately up to you - it is between you, God, and the Bible. It is not up to us. We are merely defending the truth.

Much Grace

    • You are coming up higher in this season – above the assignments of character assassination and verbal arrows sent to manage you, contain you, and derail your purpose. Where you have had your dreams and sleep robbed, as well as your peace and clarity robbed – leaving you feeling foggy, confused, and heavy – God is, right now, bringing freedom back -- now you will clearly see the smoke and mirrors that were set to distract you and you will disengage.

Right now God is declaring a "no access zone" around you, and your enemies will no longer have any entry point into your life. Oil is being poured over you to restore the years that the locust ate and give you back your passion. This is where you will feel a fresh roar begin to erupt from your inner being, and a call to leave the trenches behind and begin your odyssey in your Christ calling moving you to bear fruit that remains as you minister to and disciple others into their Christ identity.

This is where you leave the trenches and scale the mountain to fight from a different place, from victory, from peace, and from rest. Now watch as God leads you up higher above all the noise, above all the chaos, and shows you where you have been seated all along with Him in heavenly places where you are UNTOUCHABLE. This is where you leave the soul fight, and the mind battle, and learn to fight differently.

You will know how to live like an eagle and lead others to the same place of safety and protection that God led you to, which broke you out of the silent prison you were in. Put your war boots on and get ready to fight back! Refuse to lay down -- get out of bed and rebuke what is coming at you. Remember where you are seated and live from that place.

Acts 1:8 - “But you will receive power when the Holy Spirit has come upon you, and you will be my witnesses … to the end of the earth.”

    • Understanding the Enemy!

I thought I write about the flip side of a topic, and how to recognize the attempts of the enemy to destroy lives and how you can walk in His victory!

For the Apostle Paul taught us not to be ignorant of enemy's tactics and strategies.

2 Corinthians 2:112  Lest Satan should get an advantage of us: for we are not ignorant of his devices.

So often, we can learn lessons by learning and playing "devil's" advocate.  When we read this passage,

Mar 3:26  And if Satan rise up against himself, and be divided, he cannot stand, but hath an end.
Mar 3:27  No man can enter into a strong man's house, and spoil his goods, except he will first bind the strongman; and then he will spoil his house.

Here we learn a lesson that in order to plunder one's house you must first BIND up the strongman.  While we realize in this particular passage this is referring to God binding up the strongman (Satan) and this is how Satan's house is plundered.  But if you carefully analyze the enemy -- you realize that he uses the same tactics on us!  Your house cannot be plundered -- unless you are first bound.   And then Satan can plunder your house!

    • Abraham and Issac: Pictures of the Resurrection, Part 2
      Shalom everyone,

As we continue this series the next obvious sign of the resurrection in the Old Testament is the sign of Isaac and Abraham.

Gen 22:1  After these things God tested Abraham and said to him, "Abraham!" And he said, "Here I am."
Gen 22:2  He said, "Take your son, your only son Isaac, whom you love, and go to the land of Moriah, and offer him there as a burnt offering on one of the mountains of which I shall tell you."

So God "tests" Abraham and as a perfect picture of the coming sacrifice of God's only begotten Son (Yeshua - Jesus) God instructs Issac to go and sacrifice his son, Issac.  Where does he say to offer him?  On Moriah -- the exact location of the Temple Mount.
