To atheist here's an input I would like to give you, because I am honestly tired of getting your question, ''If there is A God, then why do all those poor people dying of hunger each day, or all those disasters happening in the world.

A man went into a barbershop to get haircut , when He was having his harcut and having th usual conversations people have with barbers, they eventually got into the religion topic in the discussion if there is A God, the guy getting the haircut was christian, while the barber was an atheist, so the barber tells the guy,'' look the reason I don't think there is a God is I just can't believe that if there was 1, He would let people die because of hunger and let natural disasters happen aswell let all thoses wars happen, I just cannot believe it'', the guy getting the haircut just sat quiet avoiding getting into a heavy argument., after a bit the barber ended cutting his hair and so the guy left the barbershop, as he left he saw a man with a lot of hair, so when the guy that just had the haircut saw this, he went back into the barbershop and ask the barber, ''Do you believe that barbers exist?'' and the barber inmediatly answer,'' of course barbers exist!I am a berber myself, so barbers do exist, why would you think otheriwise!'' and the guy answered back'' well I just went outside an saw a man with a lot of hair so and you haven't cutted it so I don't believe barbers exist'' and the barber again answer'' of course I would cut his hair, but first his has to come and look for me and find me!'' '' and the guy replied'' exactly, that's why you have to go and seek for God! "

In overview, God can fix the world, just the world has to seek God, God has done the most allready, all we got to do is, open our eyes and look :emot-hug: .

The world would be a lot better if we all looked for God, unfortunately we don't so we are mostly not protected from disasters and thing, but yet God still protects us from many that we don't notice. :noidea:

Note: The article I posted was a quick translate from spanish to english, so there might be some errors on the sentences :24:

It helps to understand that by sin entering the world alot of the 'bad stuff' happens as a ripple effect of that, we do also have a thing called FREEWILL, which some people do not like to acknowledge that sin has resulted from their freewill choices. LNJ

Wanna know why that doesn\'t work? Because a man going into a barbershop can get his hair cut, but a starving african will not suddenly be fed by believing in God.

Exactly, Arialia. I mean, who needs to fix any of the endemic social problems on Earth when it doesn't matter anyway- when the whole point is to go to heaven? If we thought this world was all we had, though, maybe we'd stand up and try and protect it a little more. I know there's a lot of Christian aid agencies out there doing the world of good- and secular ones, too- but there's also a lot of people who think it doesn't matter what happens here, what parts of the planet they stuff up, because they've got somewhere to go to when Earth goes to hell.

You are right in some point many people don't care about others since as some maybe christian or act like so, they still refuse to follow what Jesus said in The Bible to love on another like brothers and sister.

But unfortunately some people still don't get the point of love, but as for most christians, we do follow this principles.

Sigh here is a example.

My father, 56 or 57 years old, goes every week or so to prison to talk to people about God, he sometimes brings them gifts and things, and the funny and wonderfull fact is, killers and rapist and all protect him from other criminals since they have seen the love of God in my father, God has given him grace uppon man, he goes places were even the police in the prison are afraid to enter, but you can see that he is sharing God's lovee to others.

The problem is that most of the people who believe this are often believing an ancient form of heresy called "Gnosticism." The point of Christianity isn't to get to Heaven...in fact, Heaven is a very minor point in the Christian faith (or Biblically it should be). The point of Christianity is the redemption of culture. This means we want a few things:

1) We want to see people come to Christ so He gains glory

2) We want social justice for all people, this means eradication of hunger, poverty, and providing peace when we can

3) We want a culture that brings glory to God in every aspect...the only way to fully redeem culture is to work to bring people to Christ and to live a Christ-like life.

As for the problem of evil and pain in the world...though unfortunate, they are necessary. Evil is necessary because it provides an option, something to choose between. If there was only good, then we could not possibly choose evil which would in turn negate limited will. Likerwise, if there was no pain, there would be no need for God's grace to get us through the pain.

Even if these are unacceptable, the fact is, we are all suffering from a sinful world and there is going to be pain. God can stop it, but it would serve no good use if He did and would utlimately cause more harm.

If even one starving African converted and was fed for it, I think most people would catch on and do likewise. Aprt from that, logic.

Cellshade, your last post brings into play a lot of Evolutionary Psychology.

The cell mates depend on him for gifts? Where does the protection come from? The two seem related to me.

Sighs, that's not evolutionary Psychology, that's human psycology and nature but then again, never said all gifts were material, this people are people that no one loves or cares of, the fact that someone goes there each week to tell them about how someone loved them so much that He died in the cross for them is a gift big enought.

Besides for them it's not only material, as you may think otherwise.

While yes he has given them sometimes gifts, but not gifts as in chocolates or tv's gift as of Bible's and other recreational things that change their life's, tv's money or chocolate don't do this.

For a fact again I say, even police some of them gift crack and drugs to this guys as gifts, and yet this cellmates don't try to protect this cops.

One thing I do give you, here were I live gangsters are horrible, worst then the one in USA or UK or wherever you are from, so my father mades a deal with them, he will sometimes gift them a soccerball for 30 minutes Bible teaching, the result after this happen? some 50 cellmates or more give their life to Christ, and the 30 min teaching lasting 2 hours because they want him to stay on to talk about God.

Another result is you this people each other day for 6 months and more to gift an example still going to he's teaching about God and this without him having to gift anything more.

CellShade,

My thoughts to tell someone who doesn't believe in a God for that reason is the following.

God didn't mess things up, people did.

God created everything to work perfect and if we would have followed directions it would have stayed that way.

It only takes a few people trying to make the world work their own way to disrupt everything for everyone.

Now you multiply that by billions of people trying to make the world work their own way instead of God

    • You are coming up higher in this season – above the assignments of character assassination and verbal arrows sent to manage you, contain you, and derail your purpose. Where you have had your dreams and sleep robbed, as well as your peace and clarity robbed – leaving you feeling foggy, confused, and heavy – God is, right now, bringing freedom back -- now you will clearly see the smoke and mirrors that were set to distract you and you will disengage.

Right now God is declaring a "no access zone" around you, and your enemies will no longer have any entry point into your life. Oil is being poured over you to restore the years that the locust ate and give you back your passion. This is where you will feel a fresh roar begin to erupt from your inner being, and a call to leave the trenches behind and begin your odyssey in your Christ calling moving you to bear fruit that remains as you minister to and disciple others into their Christ identity.

This is where you leave the trenches and scale the mountain to fight from a different place, from victory, from peace, and from rest. Now watch as God leads you up higher above all the noise, above all the chaos, and shows you where you have been seated all along with Him in heavenly places where you are UNTOUCHABLE. This is where you leave the soul fight, and the mind battle, and learn to fight differently.

You will know how to live like an eagle and lead others to the same place of safety and protection that God led you to, which broke you out of the silent prison you were in. Put your war boots on and get ready to fight back! Refuse to lay down -- get out of bed and rebuke what is coming at you. Remember where you are seated and live from that place.

Acts 1:8 - “But you will receive power when the Holy Spirit has come upon you, and you will be my witnesses … to the end of the earth.”

    • Understanding the Enemy!

I thought I write about the flip side of a topic, and how to recognize the attempts of the enemy to destroy lives and how you can walk in His victory!

For the Apostle Paul taught us not to be ignorant of enemy's tactics and strategies.

2 Corinthians 2:112  Lest Satan should get an advantage of us: for we are not ignorant of his devices.

So often, we can learn lessons by learning and playing "devil's" advocate.  When we read this passage,

Mar 3:26  And if Satan rise up against himself, and be divided, he cannot stand, but hath an end.
Mar 3:27  No man can enter into a strong man's house, and spoil his goods, except he will first bind the strongman; and then he will spoil his house.

Here we learn a lesson that in order to plunder one's house you must first BIND up the strongman.  While we realize in this particular passage this is referring to God binding up the strongman (Satan) and this is how Satan's house is plundered.  But if you carefully analyze the enemy -- you realize that he uses the same tactics on us!  Your house cannot be plundered -- unless you are first bound.   And then Satan can plunder your house!

    • Abraham and Issac: Pictures of the Resurrection, Part 2
      Shalom everyone,

As we continue this series the next obvious sign of the resurrection in the Old Testament is the sign of Isaac and Abraham.

Gen 22:1  After these things God tested Abraham and said to him, "Abraham!" And he said, "Here I am."
Gen 22:2  He said, "Take your son, your only son Isaac, whom you love, and go to the land of Moriah, and offer him there as a burnt offering on one of the mountains of which I shall tell you."

So God "tests" Abraham and as a perfect picture of the coming sacrifice of God's only begotten Son (Yeshua - Jesus) God instructs Issac to go and sacrifice his son, Issac.  Where does he say to offer him?  On Moriah -- the exact location of the Temple Mount.
