Shalom,

All scripture references are from the KJV unless otherwise annotated.

Have you ever noticed the windows of the church?

The church closed itself off from the world!

It shut the doors so that what is going on inside cannot be observed from the outside.

It dressed itself up so much that comfortable or casual dare not come in.

It took the Law that was fulfilled in The CHRIST and redressed it to become CHRISTian Law of "Do this and don't do that" thus negating the life, death and resurrection of The CHRIST.

The world said to the church, "Shhhh!" And the church listened to the world.

To reestablish trust and develop an interest that will draw the world to the church we must;

1) Take the beam out of your own eye and quit looking for the splinter in everyone else!

2) Quit eating our own! Quit pointing fingers at others simply because they minister the Gospel (1 Cor 2:2 is ALL there is to the Gospel) differently than you. Simply because their lifestyle is different than is yours! Simply because they have a jet or expensive house or lay hands on the sick or speak in tongues or whatever.... Quit eating your own!

Mar 9:38 And John answered him, saying, Master, we saw one casting out devils in thy name, and he followeth not us: and we forbad him, because he followeth not us.

Mar 9:39 But Jesus said, Forbid him not: for there is no man which shall do a miracle in my name, that can lightly speak evil of me.

Mar 9:40 For he that is not against us is on our part.

3) Be open! Admit your humanity. You are not perfect!

Quit pretending you are and quit looking for others to be.

Drop the "Holier than thou" act!

2Sa 6:20 Then David returned to bless his household. And Michal the daughter of Saul came out to meet David, and said, How glorious was the king of Israel to day, who uncovered himself to day in the eyes of the handmaids of his servants, as one of the vain fellows shamelessly uncovereth himself!

2Sa 6:21 And David said unto Michal, [it was] before the LORD, which chose me before thy father, and before all his house, to appoint me ruler over the people of the LORD, over Israel: therefore will I play before the LORD.

2Sa 6:22 And I will yet be more vile than thus, and will be base in mine own sight: and of the maidservants which thou hast spoken of, of them shall I be had in honour.

2Sa 6:23 Therefore Michal the daughter of Saul had no child unto the day of her death.

The "church" has become Michal.

It has become barren, bringing forth no offspring because of its "Holy" superior attitude.

Let get real?

2Sa 6:21 ...therefore will I play before the LORD.

When was the last time you "played" in church?

When was the last time the world saw the church "play"?

2Sa 6:21 ...therefore will I play before the LORD.

The Hebrew word for "play' is sachaq {saw-khak'}

The meaning of this word is just what one might think;

1) to laugh, play, mock

a) (Qal)

1) to laugh (usually in contempt or derision)

2) to sport, play

b) (Piel)

1) to make sport

2) to jest

3) to play (including instrumental music, singing, dancing)

c) (Hiphil) to laugh mockingly

In some churches today we play instruments, in some we don't. In some we sing hymns while in others we may sing contemporary or Hebrew or Country Gospel. Some sing sitting, some standing, and some standing with their hands raised or spread while yet others dance and maybe twirl and sing. Why is it at a sporting event the world goes nuts! They dance, they jump all around, and they paint their faces or wear unique outfits. They are willing to play before anyone about their team but what happened to the church?

Act 2:12 And they were all amazed, and were in doubt, saying one to another, What meaneth this?

Act 2:13 Others mocking said, These men are full of new wine.

Act 2:14 But Peter, standing up with the eleven, lifted up his voice, and said unto them, Ye men of Judaea, and all [ye] that dwell at Jerusalem, be this known unto you, and hearken to my words:

Act 2:15 For these are not drunken, as ye suppose, seeing it is [but] the third hour of the day.

Act 2:16 But this is that which was spoken by the prophet Joel;

Act 2:17 And it shall come to pass in the last days, saith God, I will pour out of my Spirit upon all flesh: and your sons and your daughters shall prophesy, and your young men shall see visions, and your old men shall dream dreams:

Act 2:18 And on my servants and on my handmaidens I will pour out in those days of my Spirit; and they shall prophesy:

Act 2:19 And I will shew wonders in heaven above, and signs in the earth beneath; blood, and fire, and vapour of smoke:

Act 2:20 The sun shall be turned into darkness, and the moon into blood, before that great and notable day of the Lord come:

Act 2:21 And it shall come to pass, [that] whosoever shall call on the name of the Lord shall be saved.

Why is it that the world no longer sees this joy overflowing?

Why is it that they no longer see us as if we are drunk or intoxicated on the things of YHVH?

Act 2:26 Therefore did my heart rejoice, and my tongue was glad; moreover also my flesh shall rest in hope:

Act 2:27 Because thou wilt not leave my soul in hell, neither wilt thou suffer thine Holy One to see corruption.

Act 2:28 Thou hast made known to me the ways of life; thou shalt make me full of joy with thy countenance.

Act 2:29 Men [and] brethren, let me freely speak unto you of the patriarch David, that he is both dead and buried, and his sepulchre is with us unto this day.

Act 2:30 Therefore being a prophet, and knowing that God had sworn with an oath to him, that of the fruit of his loins, according to the flesh, he would raise up Christ to sit on his throne;

Act 2:31 He seeing this before spake of the resurrection of Christ, that his soul was not left in hell, neither his flesh did see corruption.

Act 2:32 This Jesus hath God raised up, whereof we all are witnesses.

Act 2:33 Therefore being by the right hand of God exalted, and having received of the Father the promise of the Holy Ghost, he hath shed forth this, which ye now see and hear.

Act 2:34 For David is not ascended into the heavens: but he saith himself, The LORD said unto my Lord, Sit thou on my right hand,

Act 2:35 Until I make thy foes thy footstool.

Act 2:36 Therefore let all the house of Israel know assuredly, that God hath made that same Jesus, whom ye have crucified, both Lord and Christ.

This occurred when the HOLY SPIRIT descended upon the people.

If this reaction is missing in your fellowship!

If this reaction is missing in you then HE, the HOLY SPIRIT, must be quenched or missing!

Where is the HOLY SPIRIT today?

Why is HE not manifest in HIS people the "church"?

Why is no one playing before the LORD?

This bothered the people in Jerusalem that day!

Act 2:37 Now when they heard [this], they were pricked in their heart, and said unto Peter and to the rest of the apostles, Men [and] brethren, what shall we do?

Act 2:38 Then Peter said unto them, Repent, and be baptized every one of you in the name of Jesus Christ for the remission of sins, and ye shall receive the gift of the Holy Ghost.

Act 2:39 For the promise is unto you, and to your children, and to all that are afar off, [even] as many as the Lord our God shall call.

What is the HOLY SPIRIT saying to you today?

Is HE able to get through your "religion"?

Who is that Michal sitting in that pew?

Is it you?

.

Very interesting, yah I have heard there are 3 gospels and most people won't read the first 2. The other is you, and people will watch and pay attention to us, so we have to make sure we are good whitnesses and seeking God daily.

Well, I see that people are the cause of the joy killing. I attend a church that is very much into giving a love of joyful praise to our Father. By singing, playing instruments and dancing in the isles if we feel the need..nothing wrong with it..in fact I kinda think God basks in this and has joy in His heart for those who are not ashamed to show their excitement in the Lord..

Many people have different ideas about worship and praise, they also have different ideas about reverence and how it should be displayed..

what I am always curious about is the fact that we were made in the image (mirrored) of God. His angels play the harp but we are not to use instruments in church?..there are many disturbing things that occur because of "religion" . I do not believe in religion...I believe in God, I believe in Jesus and I believe in the Holy Spirit. I do not beleive in man made rules and notions regarding what God sees as appropriate worship.

Joy is a good thing and God wants to see our joy. :)

When we go to church if the people as a whole would go to "Worship the lord" then more people would go to church than today.

Because if we went there to "worship the lord" Then all the rest to get others in would follow.

Ah, one post and we see the newbie defending the lives of super rich "preachers" who will stoop to anything to make a buck. The Apostle Paul had no trouble calling heresy "heresy" and I don't either; it is not "eating my own" when I point out the theological errors of money hungry "preachers" like Benny Hinn and Fred Price. The Bible says that you will know them by their fruits and when you start looking at their fruits, it appears that the only "fruit" they're interested in is a money tree fruit!

:noidea: Err, Ron -

Where did you get that he was speaking of WOF?

My brother goes to a small church that rents a small room from another and has to meet later in the day to do so. This morning, they got so involved with ministering to each other with worship and prayers and tongues and interpreting tongues and prophecy that the sermon was never gotten to! My brother described it as a blast!

Simply because they have a jet or expensive house

Neb, the laying on of hands and tongues don't bother me-remember, I'm Pentecostal!!! The part about the jet and expensive house was what caught my attention. All that we ever hear in the WOF discussions is "touch mine anointed" type of thing and that we shouldn't focus on their lavish lifestyle, etc.

BTW, aren't those type of services great?

I see what you read and think the point is that what is being done by others is not our business really it is God's.."quit eating your own" is thrown into that because just as Jesus said...If I chose to keep him from seeing death what is it to you? it is not our business and God will deal with it we just need to stop judging..not our place.. :noidea:

Jackie,

The Apostle Paul had no problem with calling false teaching for what it was! We are called to rightly divide the word of truth and to me that means when we see heresy, we are called to stand up for what is right.

    • You are coming up higher in this season – above the assignments of character assassination and verbal arrows sent to manage you, contain you, and derail your purpose. Where you have had your dreams and sleep robbed, as well as your peace and clarity robbed – leaving you feeling foggy, confused, and heavy – God is, right now, bringing freedom back -- now you will clearly see the smoke and mirrors that were set to distract you and you will disengage.

Right now God is declaring a "no access zone" around you, and your enemies will no longer have any entry point into your life. Oil is being poured over you to restore the years that the locust ate and give you back your passion. This is where you will feel a fresh roar begin to erupt from your inner being, and a call to leave the trenches behind and begin your odyssey in your Christ calling moving you to bear fruit that remains as you minister to and disciple others into their Christ identity.

This is where you leave the trenches and scale the mountain to fight from a different place, from victory, from peace, and from rest. Now watch as God leads you up higher above all the noise, above all the chaos, and shows you where you have been seated all along with Him in heavenly places where you are UNTOUCHABLE. This is where you leave the soul fight, and the mind battle, and learn to fight differently.

You will know how to live like an eagle and lead others to the same place of safety and protection that God led you to, which broke you out of the silent prison you were in. Put your war boots on and get ready to fight back! Refuse to lay down -- get out of bed and rebuke what is coming at you. Remember where you are seated and live from that place.

Acts 1:8 - “But you will receive power when the Holy Spirit has come upon you, and you will be my witnesses … to the end of the earth.”

    • Understanding the Enemy!

I thought I write about the flip side of a topic, and how to recognize the attempts of the enemy to destroy lives and how you can walk in His victory!

For the Apostle Paul taught us not to be ignorant of enemy's tactics and strategies.

2 Corinthians 2:112  Lest Satan should get an advantage of us: for we are not ignorant of his devices.

So often, we can learn lessons by learning and playing "devil's" advocate.  When we read this passage,

Mar 3:26  And if Satan rise up against himself, and be divided, he cannot stand, but hath an end.
Mar 3:27  No man can enter into a strong man's house, and spoil his goods, except he will first bind the strongman; and then he will spoil his house.

Here we learn a lesson that in order to plunder one's house you must first BIND up the strongman.  While we realize in this particular passage this is referring to God binding up the strongman (Satan) and this is how Satan's house is plundered.  But if you carefully analyze the enemy -- you realize that he uses the same tactics on us!  Your house cannot be plundered -- unless you are first bound.   And then Satan can plunder your house!

    • Abraham and Issac: Pictures of the Resurrection, Part 2
      Shalom everyone,

As we continue this series the next obvious sign of the resurrection in the Old Testament is the sign of Isaac and Abraham.

Gen 22:1  After these things God tested Abraham and said to him, "Abraham!" And he said, "Here I am."
Gen 22:2  He said, "Take your son, your only son Isaac, whom you love, and go to the land of Moriah, and offer him there as a burnt offering on one of the mountains of which I shall tell you."

So God "tests" Abraham and as a perfect picture of the coming sacrifice of God's only begotten Son (Yeshua - Jesus) God instructs Issac to go and sacrifice his son, Issac.  Where does he say to offer him?  On Moriah -- the exact location of the Temple Mount.
