Selling your soul

If you make a promise to Jesus to stop sinning and say "Send me to hell if I continue sinning" and sin afterwards will you automatically go to hell? Or can you break that.

If you make a promise to the Holy Spirit, would the outcome differ because it is the Holy Spirit.

When I was young I believe I did something like this whether it be to God/Jesus/Holy Spirit, please inform me and let me know what you guys think.

Thanks alot

These are things you should ask the Lord. He won't play games w/ you.

Well I don't 'hear' god as strongly as I wish I could, so the answers don't seem to strong coming from him, since well, I don't hear him.

But it makes me wonder, even though I agreed to it, does someone as good as God or even the Holy Spirit accept something as foolish as that?

If you have been genuinly washed in the Lord's blood and regenerated with the life of God in your spirit, then you are saved. You cannot "sell your soul" to the devil because you have already given ownership to the Lord Jesus. Your soul is no longer yours to sell - you've already given it away.

if you have been saved then you CANNOT sell your soul to anyone. the Bible says that NO ONE can pluck you out of God's hand.

If you have brought and placed your sins under the cleansing power of the Blood of Christ, then they have been placed as far as the east is from the west.

"for I will forgive their sins and remember them NO MORE." God doesnt even say that he has forgotten them because you need to remember them to realise you had forgotten in the first place... NO, God goes a step further to say that he will "remember" them no more.

If your past sins are tormenting you again, and you are battling with whether or not this is conviction or condemnation, then let me put your heart at rest.

"There is therefore NOW no condemnation to them that are in Christ Jesus, for the Law of the Spirit has set me free from the Laws of sin and death."

There is only ONE who will try to accuse you again and again and again by reminding you of your failures. His name is Satan and he is a LIAR. His mission is simply to steal to kill and to destroy YOU.........I can only say to you that you MUST be saved. Why else would the devil be trying to tell you that you aren't..???

It is intimidation by the devil, he is very good at it because we are very good at giving him the power through our disobedience.

I would suggest though in future that you give a little more thought to your vows or promises before you speak them. How much trouble would we be in if God held us to all of our foolish requests...??? I'm thankful that he only answers prayer according to HIS will. We can often be stupid. Thank God that he is always faithful.

" If we will confess our sins, he is faithful and just to forgive us and CLEANSE us from ALL unrighteousness." It is a thorough cleansing work that cannot be added to. The atonement was a PERFECT exchange. ALL of Gods righteousness in exchange for ALL of our sins.

Besides, if you were serving the devil you would not care for the things of God. It appears that you do care..

What remains now is the walk from Justification to Glorification which is where God refines us and MAKES us Holy as he is Holy.

Regards,

Ben.

Well Ovedya said that my soul is no longer mine to sell... so I'm not sure if a deal like that would even matter if it isn't 'mine'... Thanks for all the replies, if anyone has more to say I'd be glad to hear it.

We cannot bargain with God in this way. He simply is not interested. As Overdya said our soul is no longer ours if we have faith in Christ. We do not bargain for or bargain away salvation. God is not Donald Trump!

Hello,

If you are not saved by accepted Jesus Christ as the sacrifice for your sins. Then you do not belong to God and there is no need to sell your soul to the devil for it already belongs to him.

If you are a believer then you belong to God as the blood of Christ has bought you back from the curse of the law. For Christ was the ransom price that was paid for us as Christ gave His body to pay the awful price to redeem us back. And as long as you keep trusting in that the devil has no claims to your soul and death will have no sting for the sting has been taken away through our lord Jesus Christ. O grave where is thy victory oh death where is thy sting. blessings

    • You are coming up higher in this season – above the assignments of character assassination and verbal arrows sent to manage you, contain you, and derail your purpose. Where you have had your dreams and sleep robbed, as well as your peace and clarity robbed – leaving you feeling foggy, confused, and heavy – God is, right now, bringing freedom back -- now you will clearly see the smoke and mirrors that were set to distract you and you will disengage.

Right now God is declaring a "no access zone" around you, and your enemies will no longer have any entry point into your life. Oil is being poured over you to restore the years that the locust ate and give you back your passion. This is where you will feel a fresh roar begin to erupt from your inner being, and a call to leave the trenches behind and begin your odyssey in your Christ calling moving you to bear fruit that remains as you minister to and disciple others into their Christ identity.

This is where you leave the trenches and scale the mountain to fight from a different place, from victory, from peace, and from rest. Now watch as God leads you up higher above all the noise, above all the chaos, and shows you where you have been seated all along with Him in heavenly places where you are UNTOUCHABLE. This is where you leave the soul fight, and the mind battle, and learn to fight differently.

You will know how to live like an eagle and lead others to the same place of safety and protection that God led you to, which broke you out of the silent prison you were in. Put your war boots on and get ready to fight back! Refuse to lay down -- get out of bed and rebuke what is coming at you. Remember where you are seated and live from that place.

Acts 1:8 - “But you will receive power when the Holy Spirit has come upon you, and you will be my witnesses … to the end of the earth.”

    • Understanding the Enemy!

I thought I write about the flip side of a topic, and how to recognize the attempts of the enemy to destroy lives and how you can walk in His victory!

For the Apostle Paul taught us not to be ignorant of enemy's tactics and strategies.

2 Corinthians 2:112  Lest Satan should get an advantage of us: for we are not ignorant of his devices.

So often, we can learn lessons by learning and playing "devil's" advocate.  When we read this passage,

Mar 3:26  And if Satan rise up against himself, and be divided, he cannot stand, but hath an end.
Mar 3:27  No man can enter into a strong man's house, and spoil his goods, except he will first bind the strongman; and then he will spoil his house.

Here we learn a lesson that in order to plunder one's house you must first BIND up the strongman.  While we realize in this particular passage this is referring to God binding up the strongman (Satan) and this is how Satan's house is plundered.  But if you carefully analyze the enemy -- you realize that he uses the same tactics on us!  Your house cannot be plundered -- unless you are first bound.   And then Satan can plunder your house!

    • Abraham and Issac: Pictures of the Resurrection, Part 2
      Shalom everyone,

As we continue this series the next obvious sign of the resurrection in the Old Testament is the sign of Isaac and Abraham.

Gen 22:1  After these things God tested Abraham and said to him, "Abraham!" And he said, "Here I am."
Gen 22:2  He said, "Take your son, your only son Isaac, whom you love, and go to the land of Moriah, and offer him there as a burnt offering on one of the mountains of which I shall tell you."

So God "tests" Abraham and as a perfect picture of the coming sacrifice of God's only begotten Son (Yeshua - Jesus) God instructs Issac to go and sacrifice his son, Issac.  Where does he say to offer him?  On Moriah -- the exact location of the Temple Mount.
