Psalm 18:2...The LORD is my rock, my fortress and my deliverer; my God is my rock, in whom I take refuge. He is my shield and the horn of my salvation, my stronghold.

Psalm 25:2...in you I trust, O my God. Do not let me be put to shame, nor let my enemies triumph over me.

Psalm 30:2...O LORD my God, I called to you for help and you healed me.

There are COUNTLESS scriptures where God is called "My God"! He is MY GOD and He wants me to call Him MY GOD!

Maybe scripture just isn't your thing.....

All of these are refering to the characteristics of God and how they apply to the person. In other words, it is in reference to "my master" more than someone to thank. "I thank my God"....why? Because He provided what you wanted?

Anytime we see "my God" used in scripture, it is in a subservient role crying out for help or declaring Him as surpreme....not as some wish giver that gives us "scholars" to help twist His Word into whatever we want it to be.

I mean, really, all I have been asking is that you use evidence when responding and you respond to the evidence I have. What I have gotten is rhetoric and the whiney "you're arrogant!" accusation which really holds no weight in the discussion. Great, wonderful, I'm arrogant...not respond to what I said. Arrogance, humility, wrong spirit, right spirit, joy, depression......none of that changes the facts in a discussion....facts you've yet to respond to.

First...Trio, you're not helping legitimize your case at all. When someone responds to what you have to say you aren't responding back...you're only bringing up more objections. It provides a form of a moving target....you claim this, claim that, and claim some more, but never come back to defend your claims.

Yes, I gathered that is the way you were approaching "discussion".

It's a term in commucations, specifically in debate. It doesn't actually indicate the person is a literal target but more that the argument itself is the target and that by shifting it you are avoiding the responsibility of actually responding to it. The conclusions drawn is that this is either done without the person realizing it, it is done as a tactic to tired out the person you are debating, or it's done to avoid having to substantiate claims and therefore being put on the defensive end of the argument, which could prove to be disasterous if the person doesn't have solid evidence to back the claim.
