Are we really training up our children???

are we really being a mentor to the youth???

how are we training them? are we teaching them that we are ok, as long as we go to church on Sunday morning? and as long as we get home in time to watch the ball game, that it is ok? but if the game starts earlier then church lets out, we make an excuss not to go?

do we allow a game that is in over time to keep us from attending Sunday evening service?

what about wednesday service?

are we really teaching our kids right?

do we teach them that if they make the three services each week that every thing will be great? or are we teaching them to spend time with the Lord each and every day????

are we teaching them that God will follow them where ever they go??? or are we teaching them that they are to follow God where He goes?

are we teaching them to pick on other kids because they are a bit different? or are we teaching them to be a magnet for the Lord, to draw people into church, to draw others closer to the Lord....

are we teaching them to be gossips ( but it is true, so and so did say that about such and such and well, they wouldnt lie ) even if it is true, it is still gossip.... or are we teaching them to lift their fellow man up.....

are we teaching them to gloat over a victory of the enemy? teaching them to gloat over a non-believer falling? or are we teaching them to lift up the wounded and minister to them, nurse them back to health....

are we teaching them to be cheats and thiefs?? calling in sick to work when we really are not, getting more back on taxes then what is right? (BUT UNCLE SAM GETS MORE THEN HE NEEDS AND SQUANDERS IT, WHAT WILL IT HURT) it is cheating and stealing......

or are we teaching them that what belongs to Uncle Sam is what we are to give uncle sam, and what is Gods give to God.....or are we cheating God???? in the long run, we are cheating ourselves.......

Are our children ready to meat this Brand New World??? have we given them the knowledge to be able to use the Weapons that God has given us, can your children use the Sword, the Word of God... are your children able to do what God has asked us all to do...

are we training our children to be ambassidors for Christ? or are we showing them that we have kindness only for those that love us first....

are we training our children to be snobs? or bullies????? or are we training them to be Christlike?

are we showing them that they only have to be friends with those that we like??? or those of certain colour or creed or denomination???

or

are we teaching them that we all can meet at the cross and worship with each other in one accord ( and not a honda accord either )

are we being a mentor to our wonderful children? or are we allowing the world to raise them up in ways that do not appeal to God?

are we being a mentor of God for all the children?

are we following the ways God has directed us to follow, by teaching the younger men and women? or are we too busy to be bothered?

are we teaching our children that there is values in this world that matter, are we teaching them that there is right from wrong, are we teaching them that being politically correct is being mostly wrong? that sin is sin and rightous is rightous? that black is black and white it white, that gray is not white nor black..... that hot is hot and cold is cold and anything else is just luke warm, and will be spewed out of Gods mouth....

are we teaching our children that sin is ok as long as the world dont call it sin? are we teaching our children that stealing is ok? or that adultry is ok? that using the Lords name in vain is ok? that dishonoring our mothers and fathers is ok? that we can do every thing and anything we want to do... even if it means that we have to kill some one to get it?

is that what we are teaching our children?

are we teaching them to tear some one else down, to slander them, so that we can feel better about cheating them?????

what exactly are we teaching our children????

are we teaching them to become the Leaders that Christ wants ???? or to be leaders that the world wants???

what are we teaching?

This one was my favorite of all... I call it burying the wounded.

Great post, Mr, Mike...loved it!

I didn't perceive your post as being legalistic; it examines the motives of the heart, which is what God does.

It doesn't say you're doomed for non-attendance. It does say if your motive for non-attendace is based on other distractions, (television), check your heart.

The one about cheating is also excellent! How very true. When we go to work, are we stealing from our boss or giving him what he's paying us to do.

Open and honest...without being harsh or rigid. Very nicely done!

Thanks Mike.

You caught me on one of those points.

I won't say which one, but I might print the whole thing out as a reminder in the future.

    • You are coming up higher in this season – above the assignments of character assassination and verbal arrows sent to manage you, contain you, and derail your purpose. Where you have had your dreams and sleep robbed, as well as your peace and clarity robbed – leaving you feeling foggy, confused, and heavy – God is, right now, bringing freedom back -- now you will clearly see the smoke and mirrors that were set to distract you and you will disengage.

Right now God is declaring a "no access zone" around you, and your enemies will no longer have any entry point into your life. Oil is being poured over you to restore the years that the locust ate and give you back your passion. This is where you will feel a fresh roar begin to erupt from your inner being, and a call to leave the trenches behind and begin your odyssey in your Christ calling moving you to bear fruit that remains as you minister to and disciple others into their Christ identity.

This is where you leave the trenches and scale the mountain to fight from a different place, from victory, from peace, and from rest. Now watch as God leads you up higher above all the noise, above all the chaos, and shows you where you have been seated all along with Him in heavenly places where you are UNTOUCHABLE. This is where you leave the soul fight, and the mind battle, and learn to fight differently.

You will know how to live like an eagle and lead others to the same place of safety and protection that God led you to, which broke you out of the silent prison you were in. Put your war boots on and get ready to fight back! Refuse to lay down -- get out of bed and rebuke what is coming at you. Remember where you are seated and live from that place.

Acts 1:8 - “But you will receive power when the Holy Spirit has come upon you, and you will be my witnesses … to the end of the earth.”

    • Understanding the Enemy!

I thought I write about the flip side of a topic, and how to recognize the attempts of the enemy to destroy lives and how you can walk in His victory!

For the Apostle Paul taught us not to be ignorant of enemy's tactics and strategies.

2 Corinthians 2:112  Lest Satan should get an advantage of us: for we are not ignorant of his devices.

So often, we can learn lessons by learning and playing "devil's" advocate.  When we read this passage,

Mar 3:26  And if Satan rise up against himself, and be divided, he cannot stand, but hath an end.
Mar 3:27  No man can enter into a strong man's house, and spoil his goods, except he will first bind the strongman; and then he will spoil his house.

Here we learn a lesson that in order to plunder one's house you must first BIND up the strongman.  While we realize in this particular passage this is referring to God binding up the strongman (Satan) and this is how Satan's house is plundered.  But if you carefully analyze the enemy -- you realize that he uses the same tactics on us!  Your house cannot be plundered -- unless you are first bound.   And then Satan can plunder your house!

    • Abraham and Issac: Pictures of the Resurrection, Part 2
      Shalom everyone,

As we continue this series the next obvious sign of the resurrection in the Old Testament is the sign of Isaac and Abraham.

Gen 22:1  After these things God tested Abraham and said to him, "Abraham!" And he said, "Here I am."
Gen 22:2  He said, "Take your son, your only son Isaac, whom you love, and go to the land of Moriah, and offer him there as a burnt offering on one of the mountains of which I shall tell you."

So God "tests" Abraham and as a perfect picture of the coming sacrifice of God's only begotten Son (Yeshua - Jesus) God instructs Issac to go and sacrifice his son, Issac.  Where does he say to offer him?  On Moriah -- the exact location of the Temple Mount.
