"If you preach the Gospel, this story is for you"

And for any of you who have ever felt like you are wasting your time,

This is a reminder that when you are obedient to what God would have you do, your living will NOT be in VAIN.

THE PREACHER

This is a true story: I heard that one of our preachers was going to a

City to preach a message.

He was traveling at night on near deserted

Highway and praying to God to help him with the message for the next

day. He was driving to the city that night to spend the night and would

be speaking the next day.

He was driving along the highway when the voice of God shook him. And

God spoke to him:

"Stop this car and preach."

He slowed down and said,

"God there is no one anywhere near here. I've only met 2 cars in the hour

I've been on this highway."

God shouted at him,

"Stop the car NOW, and

get out and preach your message here, now."

The preacher pulled over and stopped the car. He got his Bible and his

flashlight and went to the front of his car.

He laid his Bible on the

hood of the car and began reading his text, all the while wondering what

God thought He was doing. He preached about the "depth and height of the

Love of God."

He talked about how far God would reach just to save one

soul. He gave the illustration of the one lost sheep, and how the

Shepherd left the 99 to go to rescue the one lost sheep.

A couple of minutes into his message, and the anointing came. He preached

As if he was preaching to a thousand people. He was preaching along, and

A car came by slowly, slowed down ahead, almost came to a stop, then went

slowly on.

A second car came by before he finished his message, slowed

down, rolled the car window down as if to ask if he needed help, then

drove on again.

The minister finished his message, crawled back into his car and drove

on. "Lord, I do not know what You were trying to prove, but if it was

practice I needed, I thank You."

Approximately three months later, this same minister was preaching in a

small church in that same area.

He had almost forgotten the ordeal. But

God quickened him to again preach the same message this night. He

preached with anointing and power.

At the end, he asked if anyone

wanted to come home to the sheepfold as he gave the altar call.

A young man sitting on the second row immediately got up from his seat

and came forward.

But instead of kneeling down he came on up on the

platform and threw his arms around the minister, crying loudly. The

minister prayed for him.

After a few moments the young man said, "So, you are the minister who

stopped on the side of the road and preached that message about three

months ago!"

The minister nodded his head and asked, "Were you in one of the cars that

came by and almost stopped?"

The young man shook his head and said, "No, I was in the culvert

underneath your car.

I was hooked on cocaine, my parents had washed their

hands of me, I was in trouble with the law for stealing to support my

habit. I had tried to commit suicide that day, but I was still alive.

I

had no home, no clothes, no money and was hungry. I prayed as I found

the culvert and made myself a bed for the night, "If there is a God, see

if You can find me here!"

"I got out of the culvert and sat on the grass out of your sight. I

listened to you tell the story about the lost sheep and the love of a

shepherd who would not sleep until He found him. Something got a hold of

me that night.

The next morning, I started walking to try to find a

church to see if I could find this God who had answered my carelessly

flung prayer that night.

I had not walked far, when a man picked me up and took me to his church.

His minister is up there sitting in that chair (he pointed at the pastor

of the church).

He talked to me, took me to his home, fed me, cleaned me

up and bought me some new clothes. Then he told me about Jesus. I

repented, was baptized in His name that night.

The next night I received

the baptism of the Holy Ghost. Man, am I glad you practiced your sermon

on the side of the highway that night! See all those people on that

second row? I've brought all of them to this church and my family too."

What is the length and the depth of the love of God?

It is never ending,

for He will go out of His way to find a lost soul who has flung a

helpless and careless prayer His way.

this story was sent to me by a dear brother and minister of the gospel for 40 years. i hope u were as blessed by reading it as i was.

Thank You, for that Wonderful story, isn't our God great. How can so many, stand so far off and not desire Him. He Loves us so much, I'm so thankful my name is written in the lambs Book of Life. I believe that he is going to manifest Himself in the True body of Christ, soon. We are so close to His coming, I pray none of us will miss any oppertunity, to be His witnesses, by the Power of His Holy Spirit.

Dare - What a wonderful story, my heart was just leaping for joy while reading it.

God always has a reason and purpose for everything He does even if we dont know what it is at the time and however strange we may think it is.

Surely His ways are not our ways and His thoughts are not our thoughts Amen!

The Lord has a reason for all things He has us do, no matter how silly they may seem....

the closer you draw to the Lord, the easier it is for Him to whisper to you what He wants you to do, and the easier it is to Hear Him talk to you....

if you receive a Word from God, dont be afraid to share it, even in the message boards, you may get some ridicule, you may not get any replys, but if only one person views it, then it may have been for that one person, or it may have been just for you alone, that you were the one being spoken too.

even if it was just for you, there may be some one else that needs it, and in a round about way, it gets to them... even thru a copy and paste forward thru email.... who knows...... God Does.....

God knows why He is asking you to do something, all we have to do is listen and obey........

Brother Mike...what you say makes sense......but some people think God is speaking to them and we've had some real doozies lately...

Eeeks...real oddballs who post things like they were told by God that He has a wife, God is really a woman, and well...you get the idea.

We have a recently deleted post which is called, "God has a wife"...

We really do get some people who are convinced they hear God and yes, the boards throw tomatoes because what we hear is so outrageous, it has to be deleted out.

Again, you've added some strong, balanced feedback - biblically sound, without being overly rigid...

We do have some real concerns within the church. I especially loved the one post you did that talked briefly about the witness of our lives, including 'stealing time from our employers' by not working.

That's so true..and well received.

But trust me, we get those who aren't very balanced, may be on some kind of medication and really believe they hear voices. You really wonder about some of these people.

amen sis cat...i spoke to a man not long ago that ried his best to convince me that Jesus was here on earth now, that He had returned....i gave him the scriptures that shows this will happen , God warns us about this....that man would NOT believe God's word . rather he chose to be a devils lie.... how sad.....many today are so deceived about so much.

satan has even sold the young a lie about hell.....how wonderful it will be.....what a good time a person will have when they get there.

i have even talked to girls 13-15 who have denouned God and have pledged their loyalty to that deceiver satan.....some even going as far as saying they are his, if u know what i mean.....my Lord and my God, what abominations hee in the last days....

blaspheming God's Holy name almost every breath.

like you have heard me say i truly beleive we are in the very last days....

in july of 200 on a saturday nite, i had just gotten home around 8;30 and i went into my bedroom and sat on the side of the bed and just started talking to the lord and telling Him how sick i was of sin and i hated the prescense of sin around me...

i wasnt expecting Him tosay amything....anytime He has ever spoken to me, i wasnt expecting it..

anyway these were His exact words.

"BE PATIENT SYLVIA(my first name) FOR THE FATHER IS SOON TO SEND HIS SON TO GATHER HIS CHILDREN HOME"

and only the father knows ....and thank you lord for that word of encouragement and word of knowledge..

one day i was over at my sisters house and we were just praising God, listening to christian music and that house was full of the prescense of the lord. anyway i saw a vision and the lord stood at a door and the door was part open .

and i knew in my spirit what he was telling me.

HE IS AT THE DOOR AND THE DOOR HAS BEEN OPENED AND ALL HE NEEDS DO IS STEP THRU IT..

THANK YOU LORD JESUS.I CAN FEEL THE SPIRIT BEARING WITNESS .

I THINK IF WE KNEW JUST HOW CLOSE TO THE LORD'S RETURN IT REALLY WAS, WE WOULD BE ONE HARD WORKING PEOPLE. WE WOULD BE CRYING OUT , REPENT REPENT THE KINGDOM OF GOD IS AT HAND.

GLORY I CAN STILL FEEL THE SPIRIT BEARING WITNESS. MY FLESH IS STANDING.

That is an excellent story, and should encourage us all that it goes right along with the parable of the sower. This sower planted seeds to several kinds of ground, and God cared for that planted in the fertile soil. We should like wise plant those seeds of eternal life at every opportunity, and alway obey The urgings of The Holy Spirit.

These cautions posted show the importance of knowing The Scriptures, and relying solely on The Holy Spirit to interpret them to you. God would never send a word to you, from anyone, that would disgree with The Bible. And then you can have a second witness that it is from God if you will ask The Holy Spirit to verify it for you. It has been my experience that in most instances when He sent someone to me with a word He prefaced it by letting me know that someone was coming.
