And I could care less if he's Born Again! Born into what? He's a murderer!!!!!!!!!! He killed the man, but he did'nt kill the dream. And I hope he reads this in his cell. What say you?

Wasn't it you who mentioned he was born again?

It seemed like you were saying he was a christian who killed Lennon "for God" or something?

What say I?

"Ye shall reap what you sew"

He can find forgiveness for his soul but he will still have to pay the price for sin in this life.

That hilarious website "Demonizing" John Lennon was the funniest thing I ever saw!!! I only have one response to it.....The goat is just a symbol of the "devil" like so many others..How do you connect that to an album cover with Paul McCartney? You were ripping into John, Right? Leave Paul McCartney alone!!!!

This forum isn't about John Lennon and Paul McCartney. And did I say again that your use of his name is disrespectful? You seem to be upset. And about what? Something someone said about Paul McCartney? There are message boards for that and this isn't one of them.

Fair enough..I was indeed defending John Lennon being demonized. I mean, that is ridiculous that's all. This is just people debating something they don't agree on. To state that John Lennon..for all his faults, equates to Satan is a bit extreme. Don't you agree?

If you want to "imagine" what the world would be like without religion then look to those places who's governments did away with religion such as the Former USSR and China. Imagine the love and peace that was felt by all the people murdered for this system. Imagine the portait of man's love and kindness that was splashed all over the news and the minds of those who saw one young Chinese student standing to face his destruction by the tank. I think we do not have to "imagine" it is there for all to see.

Further if you are willing to see the truth instead of imagination then i challenge you to read "Tortured For Christ" by Richard Wurmbrand. An autobiography that shows this non religious man made system challenging the love of Christ of a true believer.

Firstly, you have not once addressed the use of his name being disrespectful. I agree only that JL had a gift for music and in the music industry will go down as a legend as well as the rest of the Beatles. I don't judge the living or respectfully the dead so in a way, yes I can agree with you that we have some very enthusiastic Christians. Perhaps it was extreme without any back up but let's not let this thread turn in to whether or not JL was a satanist. I don't really care. He is dead. I'm alive, you are alive, why waste your energy in getting angry on a theory? Now, are you idolizing him by using his name or is it some kind of joke? I'm seriously curious and wish you would address that question. I also need to add that his love for yoko was amazing kind of love as if they truly belonged together. I always admired that about the couple.

With all due respect and I speak from the heart, I think John has been misinterpreted. As Christians we need to speak our of understanding and love. Christians are challenged all the time and have been for centuries and will be in time to come. If we want to get the truth to John it isn't through an antagonists point of view but through scripture and our own testimony. Please do not take offense Rebekah for I am not speaking to you alone.

This thread has turned in to posting on one person because of the lyrics of a song writen a long time ago. Can we focus on what this forum is about and attempt to show compassion and love in the face of insults and off the origional topic? These things can get out of hand and I for one don't want to belong to a forum where there is behavior towards non believers (as obnoxious as they may be  ) Are we to not love them as Jesus loved? Some of these posts come across as very combative and there is no reason for it. This is the world and everyone has their own opinions. It's great that we can give them narratives and websites and articles, etc... but do those things really plant seeds? No, we do.

John  So you think you will read it John so i can get your opinion of it?

CJ :emot-handshake: -"Tortured for Christ "is a very clear picture of Jesus" love in action through a man not sure why you would object to that or find that lacking love? Where is it lacking in love to show what man is like without religion since that is the premise of the song? I do not follow how this is in anyway unloving for it is pointing to the truth as viewed through fairly recent history. Real love does show truth and the entire premise of this posting is the lyrics of a song that decry reality.

I think you now misinterpret me. It's now what you say but how you say it. It isn't that I disagree with you, but it's just a song that are just words, worldly words of a muscian who may have been on drugs at the time. I do not see why so much emphasis is placed on this subject.

I just felt that the Holy Spirit was telling me to speak to him from a loving standpoint as it seems that everyone is yelling at him on other posts, not you, just generally.

I don't think I am getting my point across and it's very late or very early lol I am just trying to get this forum to a place of Christs Spirit where we don't let the non believers and athiests hit a nerve. Again, not saying he did with you but I felt something negative there and had to jump in. If you have read my posts you know I am a lover of Jesus Christ and I have no agenda except that what once drew me away from these boards, the disagreements and arguements, are the same reason I have come back, to remind us all that we need to speak from the spirit. And oh this isn't sounding like I want it to.

Just know I respect you and love you and do not mean anything harsh in anyway or accuse you anything.

Going to bed now  Thanks for understanding.

Dear Cj hope you sleep well and are refreshed and renewed.I copied the original post so that you could see the topic the OP(John Lennon) wrote:

"One of the songs that inspired me growing up was Imagine by John Lennon..it was a song that crystalized his vision for the world. Imagine no heaven...no hell below us..above us only sky. I think of the song as a benign view that he developed as a result of things he had read and derived from comparative religion theories of Joseph Campbell and the Beatles' visits with the Maharishi. The dream Lennon had of people living in peace and simply sharing the world is what the song implies as if religion had never existed in the first place. A common goal that I would hope most people generally seek. Religion has driven people apart and caused division and intolerance in the world and the search for God and truth seems to have been lost in the confusion. Imagine a world that got it right and never invented religion but lived in virtual harmony! Is'nt that was Jesus would have wanted for the world anyway?-He was just a guy like Ghandi who spoke of brotherhood and loving one and other. Those are concepts even an atheist can grasp! This whole idea of being "saved" is up to us..we can save ourselves!

and i did stay on topic with my reply

    • You are coming up higher in this season – above the assignments of character assassination and verbal arrows sent to manage you, contain you, and derail your purpose. Where you have had your dreams and sleep robbed, as well as your peace and clarity robbed – leaving you feeling foggy, confused, and heavy – God is, right now, bringing freedom back -- now you will clearly see the smoke and mirrors that were set to distract you and you will disengage.

Right now God is declaring a "no access zone" around you, and your enemies will no longer have any entry point into your life. Oil is being poured over you to restore the years that the locust ate and give you back your passion. This is where you will feel a fresh roar begin to erupt from your inner being, and a call to leave the trenches behind and begin your odyssey in your Christ calling moving you to bear fruit that remains as you minister to and disciple others into their Christ identity.

This is where you leave the trenches and scale the mountain to fight from a different place, from victory, from peace, and from rest. Now watch as God leads you up higher above all the noise, above all the chaos, and shows you where you have been seated all along with Him in heavenly places where you are UNTOUCHABLE. This is where you leave the soul fight, and the mind battle, and learn to fight differently.

You will know how to live like an eagle and lead others to the same place of safety and protection that God led you to, which broke you out of the silent prison you were in. Put your war boots on and get ready to fight back! Refuse to lay down -- get out of bed and rebuke what is coming at you. Remember where you are seated and live from that place.

Acts 1:8 - “But you will receive power when the Holy Spirit has come upon you, and you will be my witnesses … to the end of the earth.”

    • Understanding the Enemy!

I thought I write about the flip side of a topic, and how to recognize the attempts of the enemy to destroy lives and how you can walk in His victory!

For the Apostle Paul taught us not to be ignorant of enemy's tactics and strategies.

2 Corinthians 2:112  Lest Satan should get an advantage of us: for we are not ignorant of his devices.

So often, we can learn lessons by learning and playing "devil's" advocate.  When we read this passage,

Mar 3:26  And if Satan rise up against himself, and be divided, he cannot stand, but hath an end.
Mar 3:27  No man can enter into a strong man's house, and spoil his goods, except he will first bind the strongman; and then he will spoil his house.

Here we learn a lesson that in order to plunder one's house you must first BIND up the strongman.  While we realize in this particular passage this is referring to God binding up the strongman (Satan) and this is how Satan's house is plundered.  But if you carefully analyze the enemy -- you realize that he uses the same tactics on us!  Your house cannot be plundered -- unless you are first bound.   And then Satan can plunder your house!

    • Abraham and Issac: Pictures of the Resurrection, Part 2
      Shalom everyone,

As we continue this series the next obvious sign of the resurrection in the Old Testament is the sign of Isaac and Abraham.

Gen 22:1  After these things God tested Abraham and said to him, "Abraham!" And he said, "Here I am."
Gen 22:2  He said, "Take your son, your only son Isaac, whom you love, and go to the land of Moriah, and offer him there as a burnt offering on one of the mountains of which I shall tell you."

So God "tests" Abraham and as a perfect picture of the coming sacrifice of God's only begotten Son (Yeshua - Jesus) God instructs Issac to go and sacrifice his son, Issac.  Where does he say to offer him?  On Moriah -- the exact location of the Temple Mount.
