An Atheist recently asked how anyone could believe in God; pointing out the various meanings of the word atheist he or she produced a variety of arguments in support of the contention that there is no God.

One of the strongest arguments which I have encountered over the years is the lack of

Trying to prove something does not exist is essentially impossible.

For instance, I could say that there is a teapot orbiting the sun. How would we disprove that?

No matter how long we would search with telescopes, there could always be places the teapot would be.

Since your God is invisible and inaudible, cannot be observed, etc, it would be just a tad harder to disprove it, don't you think?

What would evidence of nonexistance consist of? What could possibly show you that your God does not exist?

The difference about your 'teapot obiting the sun', is that you just made it up and your theory would be shot down in seconds after a few probing questions. You would either be given medication or given a wide berth for future claims, and your credibilty would be zero.

Just because G-d is invisible etc does not mean He has left us with no means of contact, to stumble blindly in the dark, and when many people have looked for Him with all their hearts...they have found Him....hence rebirth through the Holy Ghost ...and a sudden new awakening and awareness that we are more than flesh and blood.

Tea Pot orbiting the sun...!!!

Oh well lets look on the bright side....You'd never need to worry about bringing it to the boil again... :emot-questioned::emot-highfive::blink::blink::o

Silly atheist..

The problem, Ask An Atheist, is that say 5 years from now, we will both have forgotten this conversation ever took place. I will quite probably have never given you a second thought, or you, me. Yet we will both still be thinking about your 'nonexistent' God, and we will both still know Who He is. So you tell me, who's more real; you , me, or God?

A man who holds atheism close to his heart is a man that cannot concieve of a being such as God. An atheist is seeking answers, or holding resentment the likes of which are the nature of his non-belief. The concept of an atheist is hard to comprehend by most believers. Likewise the concept of God is hard to comprehend by an atheist.

I don't get involved in atheism argument and debates anymore because they are pointless. Both sides walk away holding onto their beliefs even stronger than they started. I am a believer and as a believer the bible says not to get involved in petty arguments such as these.

Jesus doesn't try to change those who refuse God, but rather those who don't know him. It is said that if you are not accepted into a town then shake the dust off your feet. Usually when your not accepted into a town it means they know who you are, and if you are a man of God they don't want God there.

Even Jesus had enemies, even Jesus had people that didn't believe him when they lived in the same age as him. If Jesus himself cannot take out the worlds disbelief then what chance have I got? Not a very good one I can tell you that.

Exactly! Athesists' hearts are stony ground, and no Seed can live there. The evil one takes it and brings confusion. We believers need to purvey the message of Christ to fertile soil, and not spend our precious and limited time on such as these confirmed refusers of God. When we stand before the throne one day, what will be our response to the question, "Whom have you brought with you to the Kingdom?" Will it be, "No one, Lord, but I wasted my time on those who refused to hear."??

Maybe you guys should look at what is written instead of looking at who wrote it.

He is right.

No one can prove that God does not exist. He's not argueing to point...he's making it.

The physical existance of God can not be proven. That is what he is saying.

God's existence is proven over and over again to me! When I look around me all I see is His hand. He is a creative God and a careful orchestrator of matter!

I have a relationship with the Living God...that is proof for me also!

He is alive and we interact together! That is prrof for me!

He speaks to me through His Word, and He has spoken to me audibly! That is proof for me!

He has healed me when I ask Him. That is proof for me!

He has kept all His promises to me. That is proof for me!

That is right--He is a personal God! That is my point, honey. :)

    • You are coming up higher in this season – above the assignments of character assassination and verbal arrows sent to manage you, contain you, and derail your purpose. Where you have had your dreams and sleep robbed, as well as your peace and clarity robbed – leaving you feeling foggy, confused, and heavy – God is, right now, bringing freedom back -- now you will clearly see the smoke and mirrors that were set to distract you and you will disengage.

Right now God is declaring a "no access zone" around you, and your enemies will no longer have any entry point into your life. Oil is being poured over you to restore the years that the locust ate and give you back your passion. This is where you will feel a fresh roar begin to erupt from your inner being, and a call to leave the trenches behind and begin your odyssey in your Christ calling moving you to bear fruit that remains as you minister to and disciple others into their Christ identity.

This is where you leave the trenches and scale the mountain to fight from a different place, from victory, from peace, and from rest. Now watch as God leads you up higher above all the noise, above all the chaos, and shows you where you have been seated all along with Him in heavenly places where you are UNTOUCHABLE. This is where you leave the soul fight, and the mind battle, and learn to fight differently.

You will know how to live like an eagle and lead others to the same place of safety and protection that God led you to, which broke you out of the silent prison you were in. Put your war boots on and get ready to fight back! Refuse to lay down -- get out of bed and rebuke what is coming at you. Remember where you are seated and live from that place.

Acts 1:8 - “But you will receive power when the Holy Spirit has come upon you, and you will be my witnesses … to the end of the earth.”

    • Understanding the Enemy!

I thought I write about the flip side of a topic, and how to recognize the attempts of the enemy to destroy lives and how you can walk in His victory!

For the Apostle Paul taught us not to be ignorant of enemy's tactics and strategies.

2 Corinthians 2:112  Lest Satan should get an advantage of us: for we are not ignorant of his devices.

So often, we can learn lessons by learning and playing "devil's" advocate.  When we read this passage,

Mar 3:26  And if Satan rise up against himself, and be divided, he cannot stand, but hath an end.
Mar 3:27  No man can enter into a strong man's house, and spoil his goods, except he will first bind the strongman; and then he will spoil his house.

Here we learn a lesson that in order to plunder one's house you must first BIND up the strongman.  While we realize in this particular passage this is referring to God binding up the strongman (Satan) and this is how Satan's house is plundered.  But if you carefully analyze the enemy -- you realize that he uses the same tactics on us!  Your house cannot be plundered -- unless you are first bound.   And then Satan can plunder your house!

    • Abraham and Issac: Pictures of the Resurrection, Part 2
      Shalom everyone,

As we continue this series the next obvious sign of the resurrection in the Old Testament is the sign of Isaac and Abraham.

Gen 22:1  After these things God tested Abraham and said to him, "Abraham!" And he said, "Here I am."
Gen 22:2  He said, "Take your son, your only son Isaac, whom you love, and go to the land of Moriah, and offer him there as a burnt offering on one of the mountains of which I shall tell you."

So God "tests" Abraham and as a perfect picture of the coming sacrifice of God's only begotten Son (Yeshua - Jesus) God instructs Issac to go and sacrifice his son, Issac.  Where does he say to offer him?  On Moriah -- the exact location of the Temple Mount.
