Have any of you seen this film? While this was a very well made movie I found myself feeling insulted when it was all said and done. The begiining of the movie has a moment where the host of a talk show tells the views that the fall of the United States was the direct result of "Godlessness". The rampant spread of homosexuality and Islam along with abortions and similar sins were the cause for Gods "judgement" on the United States. I found myself nodding my head in agreement, thinking, "this guys understands" only to have him using foul language to close his segment. The entire movie seems to mock Christian beliefs and even seems to depict men as generally good but misguided, conformant and sheepish. Furthermore the movie is set in a time where the religious leaders run things with the same disregard and self importance as would a multi-billion dollar corporation. While I enjoyed the acting and storyline, I did not like what what being insinuated. What did you think?

I thought the movie was great. The guys foul language was offensive and was an example of absolute power corrupting absolutely.

I believe it was a warning against any type of religious extremism. Look how many Christians now would advocate genocide on all Moslems because it's "us or them?"

It also perfectly showed what can result from a people being willing to give up freedom for security.

V for Vendetta = Excellent

I saw it too.

Thought it was a stupid propoganda film....and a waste of life to endure

I'm not worried about it's message because it was so stupid that their philosophical ranting would backfire.

I really liked the movie, though it did scare me a little in that I can really see the British government being something like that in years to come.

This was one of the best movies I have seen in a long time. Anarchy and fun. I cannot put into exact words what was so great about the film. That is aside from the story of a man seeking revenge and to tear the veil from peoples faces. I LOVED THIS MOVIE!

Typical Hollywood. Seen it before.

I didn't see it as mocking Christianity but as pointing out the danger of religious extremism.

The leader of the nation seemed like a type of AC figure. He distorted the Christian Cross and expected total obedience as if he was Christ himself.

The part where Evey is set free because she no longer has fear is meaningful too. Her "God is in the rain" moment shows her realization that God does exist and there is no reason to fear.

seems like I remember a lot of homosexual-endorsement scenes and snipes at our current President as if he were a dictator...

it was Bush-hating, Christ-bashing, homo promoting propoganda at its subtle worst from what I can remember. Admittedly, I did try to forget it.

The rest of it was OK, I guess.. :o

It seems as though anyone that has attempted to write a review on this movie was ultimately left scratching their head or chin on paper. This movie was very indirect and very subtle. I'm sure each of us saw and heard something slightly different than the other. What it seemed to portray was a toltalitarian government masked in religion, like V was masked in his self perceived morality, in an attempt to justify their very existance. While there were instances where the writter or director takes jabs at societies whos people refuse to accept homosexuals, simply because they are perceived as different, rather than being viewed as unhealthy or wrong. I can't help but think about the parts where the government "agents" ride around in vans listening to the citizens conversations in order to monitor what they are thinking so they can spin headlines as part of some control measure. The whole story, while clever, is very sinister and leaves you scratching your head as you look over your shoulder.

It took place in 2020 in Great Britain. Where did you hear a reference to President Bush? And what was said that you consider Christ bashing?

Are you sure we are talking about the same movie?

Jesus spoke many parables set in other times/places and the intended audience understood exactly whom He was talking to.

This was liberal Hollywood with another attempt to portray Bush (who represents christian morality to them) as totalitarian and the homosexual agenda as victimized, innocent, and benign.

Luckily, it was so stupid and void of reality that not many people would have understood that.....thank God

We evidently saw different movies. Tell me, do you agree that all homosexuals should be put into concentration camps and exterminated?

no.

Do you think that is what "the christian right" is trying to do in America? I believe that was the implication this propoganda film was making. Look...it was stupid. Not even worth discussing anymore.

    • You are coming up higher in this season – above the assignments of character assassination and verbal arrows sent to manage you, contain you, and derail your purpose. Where you have had your dreams and sleep robbed, as well as your peace and clarity robbed – leaving you feeling foggy, confused, and heavy – God is, right now, bringing freedom back -- now you will clearly see the smoke and mirrors that were set to distract you and you will disengage.

Right now God is declaring a "no access zone" around you, and your enemies will no longer have any entry point into your life. Oil is being poured over you to restore the years that the locust ate and give you back your passion. This is where you will feel a fresh roar begin to erupt from your inner being, and a call to leave the trenches behind and begin your odyssey in your Christ calling moving you to bear fruit that remains as you minister to and disciple others into their Christ identity.

This is where you leave the trenches and scale the mountain to fight from a different place, from victory, from peace, and from rest. Now watch as God leads you up higher above all the noise, above all the chaos, and shows you where you have been seated all along with Him in heavenly places where you are UNTOUCHABLE. This is where you leave the soul fight, and the mind battle, and learn to fight differently.

You will know how to live like an eagle and lead others to the same place of safety and protection that God led you to, which broke you out of the silent prison you were in. Put your war boots on and get ready to fight back! Refuse to lay down -- get out of bed and rebuke what is coming at you. Remember where you are seated and live from that place.

Acts 1:8 - “But you will receive power when the Holy Spirit has come upon you, and you will be my witnesses … to the end of the earth.”

    • Understanding the Enemy!

I thought I write about the flip side of a topic, and how to recognize the attempts of the enemy to destroy lives and how you can walk in His victory!

For the Apostle Paul taught us not to be ignorant of enemy's tactics and strategies.

2 Corinthians 2:112  Lest Satan should get an advantage of us: for we are not ignorant of his devices.

So often, we can learn lessons by learning and playing "devil's" advocate.  When we read this passage,

Mar 3:26  And if Satan rise up against himself, and be divided, he cannot stand, but hath an end.
Mar 3:27  No man can enter into a strong man's house, and spoil his goods, except he will first bind the strongman; and then he will spoil his house.

Here we learn a lesson that in order to plunder one's house you must first BIND up the strongman.  While we realize in this particular passage this is referring to God binding up the strongman (Satan) and this is how Satan's house is plundered.  But if you carefully analyze the enemy -- you realize that he uses the same tactics on us!  Your house cannot be plundered -- unless you are first bound.   And then Satan can plunder your house!

    • Daniel: Pictures of the Resurrection, Part 3

      Shalom everyone,

As we continue this study, I'll be focusing on Daniel and his picture of the resurrection and its connection with Yeshua (Jesus).

    • Abraham and Issac: Pictures of the Resurrection, Part 2
      Shalom everyone,

As we continue this series the next obvious sign of the resurrection in the Old Testament is the sign of Isaac and Abraham.

Gen 22:1  After these things God tested Abraham and said to him, "Abraham!" And he said, "Here I am."
Gen 22:2  He said, "Take your son, your only son Isaac, whom you love, and go to the land of Moriah, and offer him there as a burnt offering on one of the mountains of which I shall tell you."

So God "tests" Abraham and as a perfect picture of the coming sacrifice of God's only begotten Son (Yeshua - Jesus) God instructs Issac to go and sacrifice his son, Issac.  Where does he say to offer him?  On Moriah -- the exact location of the Temple Mount.
