So I am curious as to some demographics here.

Since I believe being a Godly woman is for everyone, I think the answers given very much reflect ones situation in life. A single woman will be learning a few different things from a married woman, that say a divorced woman could have perspective on. See what I mean?

I am studying the ever increasing need to be a Godly woman, not just in life, but in today's culture/society/generation. If/when I get the privilege of being married and having children, I want to be the best wife and mother God would have me be. If I get to remain single, I need to be gifted and used the way God would have me.

Either way, what does being a Godly woman mean to you!!

Guys - I welcome your opinions! You will be my next topic! ;)

Hi HisGirl,

Well I clicked on 'separated/divorced' because that is what I am about to be. Divorced for the 2nd time ;)

The Lord is teaching me much in being godly. Some may say, "well how can you be godly if you have been/will be divorced 2x"?

Well we can be. By learning at the feet of Christ. I am a great believer in Romans 8:28 and I have learnt much from my trials failures pain and hurt and I have much more to learn Amen!

I use to think that being godly meant that you did not sin and you did everything the 'right way' and of course that is true God desires us not to sin against Him and our fellow man/woman. However I also believe now that godliness starts from within, which will as we learn be manifested without.

It surely is not my intention to be divorced 2x but every person has the freedom to choose and make a decision and we are to respect anothers choice.

Sheeeeeesh what's wrong with her being divorced 2x she must have a problem...I have heard this said about me, yet I leave those kinda comments to our Father. He knows me and He knows all the details of what happened and He desires me to continue on looking to Him the Author and Finisher of my Faith. Amen

In Christ

Well, I am not a woman, so I don't have too much to say I suppose, but if you are really searching this out, you would do well to read Proverbs 31. It deals exclusively with what a godly woman looks like. Though the proverb deals with a married woman, I believe there are tremendous principles to learn as a single woman in that proverb. My fiancee' would probably be able to answer you better, but she doesn't post on these things.

(she is like me in that she gets frustrated and is prone to lose her temper when people post silly things like what has been going around lately!)

I love her with all my strength (as I love Christ, and He loves the church). Though I have to admit that I don't always know the best, most loving way to show her. I suspect that is what growing together is all about though.

I commend you in your quest to better reflect Christ in your life. I pray that He will bless your search.

Yes sagz,

Proverbs 31 is a great place to read no matter what your marital situation, because it shows a woman who loves God, loves her family, is industrious in her home, and is a smart busines woman. Another simple statement which packs a punch is in 1 Peter 3:4...a meek and quiet spirit , which is in the sight of God of great price. Remember meek doesn't mean being a doormat. Meek means "strength under control." In our lives, it should be under the control of the Holy Spirit.

This is great guys! I was really wondering more for the younger ones who view this, as I find so many girls struggle with the same old questions and there are getting to be fewer Godly influences thru the generations who can speak into these girls lives and encourage them on to being in the likeness of Christ. I can give my opinions and bible verses (Proverbs 31 is of course a solid point for women to learn from), but there is something to be said for personal experiences.

I am just looking for perspectives here. Your triumphs (and failures) are the grounds for which others can learn and grow. I have married couples asking me for advice and I think to myself - what has qualified me to answer these questions? I have never even dated someone!

But, I have had friendships, heartache, losses and gains. I have made the observation of people a learning tool, not just something that happens. And I have observed my parents. If you look around, you will find all kinds of situations to learn from. So that's what I am looking for. If you want to share......

(thanks for all who have shared so far!! )

i've really tried to avoid this thread.

most of the time, my definition of what a godly woman should be is everything that i'm not. i'm not meek, i'm not quiet, i'm not industrious around the house, i'm not business minded. in fact, i only became modest in appearance when i began getting flabby! i don't set the greatest example for my daughters.

but i do love my Lord, and i do love my family, and i do try to be submissive to my husband in a Godly manner.

"Therefore, since we have been justified through faith, we have peace with God through our Lord Jesus Christ, through whom we have gained access by faith into this grace in which we now stand."

that just about sums me up.... thank God for His grace!

    • You are coming up higher in this season – above the assignments of character assassination and verbal arrows sent to manage you, contain you, and derail your purpose. Where you have had your dreams and sleep robbed, as well as your peace and clarity robbed – leaving you feeling foggy, confused, and heavy – God is, right now, bringing freedom back -- now you will clearly see the smoke and mirrors that were set to distract you and you will disengage.

Right now God is declaring a "no access zone" around you, and your enemies will no longer have any entry point into your life. Oil is being poured over you to restore the years that the locust ate and give you back your passion. This is where you will feel a fresh roar begin to erupt from your inner being, and a call to leave the trenches behind and begin your odyssey in your Christ calling moving you to bear fruit that remains as you minister to and disciple others into their Christ identity.

This is where you leave the trenches and scale the mountain to fight from a different place, from victory, from peace, and from rest. Now watch as God leads you up higher above all the noise, above all the chaos, and shows you where you have been seated all along with Him in heavenly places where you are UNTOUCHABLE. This is where you leave the soul fight, and the mind battle, and learn to fight differently.

You will know how to live like an eagle and lead others to the same place of safety and protection that God led you to, which broke you out of the silent prison you were in. Put your war boots on and get ready to fight back! Refuse to lay down -- get out of bed and rebuke what is coming at you. Remember where you are seated and live from that place.

Acts 1:8 - “But you will receive power when the Holy Spirit has come upon you, and you will be my witnesses … to the end of the earth.”

    • George Whitten, the visionary behind Worthy Ministries and Worthy News, explores the timing of the Simchat Torah War in Israel. Is this a water-breaking moment? Does the timing of the conflict on October 7 with Hamas signify something more significant on the horizon?

    • Understanding the Enemy!

I thought I write about the flip side of a topic, and how to recognize the attempts of the enemy to destroy lives and how you can walk in His victory!

For the Apostle Paul taught us not to be ignorant of enemy's tactics and strategies.

2 Corinthians 2:112  Lest Satan should get an advantage of us: for we are not ignorant of his devices.

So often, we can learn lessons by learning and playing "devil's" advocate.  When we read this passage,

Mar 3:26  And if Satan rise up against himself, and be divided, he cannot stand, but hath an end.
Mar 3:27  No man can enter into a strong man's house, and spoil his goods, except he will first bind the strongman; and then he will spoil his house.

Here we learn a lesson that in order to plunder one's house you must first BIND up the strongman.  While we realize in this particular passage this is referring to God binding up the strongman (Satan) and this is how Satan's house is plundered.  But if you carefully analyze the enemy -- you realize that he uses the same tactics on us!  Your house cannot be plundered -- unless you are first bound.   And then Satan can plunder your house!

    • Abraham and Issac: Pictures of the Resurrection, Part 2
      Shalom everyone,

As we continue this series the next obvious sign of the resurrection in the Old Testament is the sign of Isaac and Abraham.

Gen 22:1  After these things God tested Abraham and said to him, "Abraham!" And he said, "Here I am."
Gen 22:2  He said, "Take your son, your only son Isaac, whom you love, and go to the land of Moriah, and offer him there as a burnt offering on one of the mountains of which I shall tell you."

So God "tests" Abraham and as a perfect picture of the coming sacrifice of God's only begotten Son (Yeshua - Jesus) God instructs Issac to go and sacrifice his son, Issac.  Where does he say to offer him?  On Moriah -- the exact location of the Temple Mount.
