If you wish to justify what you do to your body by smoking cigarettes or have other habits that are proven to cause certain death...that is your business. But please make sure that if you call a person a hypocrite that you are not doing it to help in the justification to your own personal life choices.
Because I think smoking is not a sin doesn't mean I smoke.

I think there is a large difference between condemnation and loving rebuke. I guess attitude is what makes all the difference.

If you wish to justify what you do to your body by smoking cigarettes or have other habits that are proven to cause certain death...that is your business.

And because I think drinking wine is not a sin does not mean I drink wine.

tell me...when I say the things that I have said in this thread you make the judgement that what I am saying is condemning? How can you judge my heart? My intentions? My thoughts?

Have you read everything that I have said in this thread? And if you did when did you consider that I was making judgement on others and not talking from experience and Truth?

I read post #66 and understood your heart. I apologize.

It is hard to know when you can't hear the inflection in a voice over the internet. I just feel that there are a lot of people out there that bring unecessary condemnation to people who are already feeling low about themselves because of something they may be doing. As recovered addicts we both know that self esteem is very low and self condemnation is very high when you are in bondage to something. We know we need to change it and people telling us we need to change it and calling us a sinner only adds to the pain. Please do not judge my heart, intentions and thoughts either. :emot-hug:

Just so you know...I was making a statement about condemnation and loving rebuke...I was not accusing you.

thank you Avodah...God's love makes all things complete.

We are human and we are far from complete. We make mistakes. I hold nothing against anyone and love you with a Christ like heart.

You can't see facial expression, or body language on the computer. You haven't posted here as much as most of us has, so we don't "know" you yet like we kinda know each other. We have all read each other enough to get a general idea of how that person, thinks/post. Just give us time, just like we'll give you! We'll all get there together!

thank you for your kindness Silentprayer....I was here for a long time and posted a lot you would have known me as jckduboise..people still did the same as they do now. I can accept that really I can. I am really not here to make a bunch of buddies but to share the Truth of God for He has taught me many things that I was not able to learn by man, as I am sure many here have experienced themselves. And those who truly know God know that Life in Him is not all fluffy love...Life with God is about cold hard facts. God's love is completely honest and God's love does not shy away from speaking the Truth even when the words are not cotton candy sweet.

I am okay with not being accepted, for as it is with Christ, it is not man that I choose to please but my Father in Heaven. It is only Him, Christ and the Holy Spirit that I seek to be testified of.

With the Love of Christ in my heart for you all, blessings.

Well I'm gonna argue with you alittle more (kinda), just with love this time I promise. You are here to make buddies, your meeting and greeting your brothers and sisters in Christ, people you will embrace and acknowledge in heaven, when we all get there. Christ brought you here for lots of reasons, to teach, and to learn. I do remember you, and I don't ever remember ever having any problems with your postings before. Sometimes we react more forcefully when something is said that adds more conviction to what the Spirit is already showing us. Like I said, we'll all meet in heaven and I hope I remember to thank you for caring!

Nevin said:

Guys are you telling me that when three men rape a domestic worker and put a sock in a 5 year old childs mouth to make her suffocate - or when 6 men rape a 6 month old child (true stories) it is the same as me smoking a cigarette or lying to my wife that i have a headache when all i want is a massage. Please give me some practical advise here i am sure i am not the only one wondering about this!

Practically speaking, if the wages of all sin is death, Nevin...what does it really matter if there should be different degrees of consequence for the sins we commit. If I am not saved, don't believe in Christ and I sin...it doesn't matter if it is a little white lie or murder, if I sin I die..perish! I also perish for not having belief in Christ. Bottom line is it all constitutes the death sentence.

If I do believe in Christ and am saved and I sin...doesn't matter which sin it is, I still must seek forgiveness and possibly pay the consequences by having to face the law of the land for it. And I must repent, I must turn my back on the behavior that causes the sin. Bottom line is I have still sinned and must seek the Lord in order to be forgiven.

Christ said that there is only one sin that is unforgivable and that is to sin against the Holy Spirit.

    • You are coming up higher in this season – above the assignments of character assassination and verbal arrows sent to manage you, contain you, and derail your purpose. Where you have had your dreams and sleep robbed, as well as your peace and clarity robbed – leaving you feeling foggy, confused, and heavy – God is, right now, bringing freedom back -- now you will clearly see the smoke and mirrors that were set to distract you and you will disengage.

Right now God is declaring a "no access zone" around you, and your enemies will no longer have any entry point into your life. Oil is being poured over you to restore the years that the locust ate and give you back your passion. This is where you will feel a fresh roar begin to erupt from your inner being, and a call to leave the trenches behind and begin your odyssey in your Christ calling moving you to bear fruit that remains as you minister to and disciple others into their Christ identity.

This is where you leave the trenches and scale the mountain to fight from a different place, from victory, from peace, and from rest. Now watch as God leads you up higher above all the noise, above all the chaos, and shows you where you have been seated all along with Him in heavenly places where you are UNTOUCHABLE. This is where you leave the soul fight, and the mind battle, and learn to fight differently.

You will know how to live like an eagle and lead others to the same place of safety and protection that God led you to, which broke you out of the silent prison you were in. Put your war boots on and get ready to fight back! Refuse to lay down -- get out of bed and rebuke what is coming at you. Remember where you are seated and live from that place.

Acts 1:8 - “But you will receive power when the Holy Spirit has come upon you, and you will be my witnesses … to the end of the earth.”

    • George Whitten, the visionary behind Worthy Ministries and Worthy News, explores the timing of the Simchat Torah War in Israel. Is this a water-breaking moment? Does the timing of the conflict on October 7 with Hamas signify something more significant on the horizon?

    • Understanding the Enemy!

I thought I write about the flip side of a topic, and how to recognize the attempts of the enemy to destroy lives and how you can walk in His victory!

For the Apostle Paul taught us not to be ignorant of enemy's tactics and strategies.

2 Corinthians 2:112  Lest Satan should get an advantage of us: for we are not ignorant of his devices.

So often, we can learn lessons by learning and playing "devil's" advocate.  When we read this passage,

Mar 3:26  And if Satan rise up against himself, and be divided, he cannot stand, but hath an end.
Mar 3:27  No man can enter into a strong man's house, and spoil his goods, except he will first bind the strongman; and then he will spoil his house.

Here we learn a lesson that in order to plunder one's house you must first BIND up the strongman.  While we realize in this particular passage this is referring to God binding up the strongman (Satan) and this is how Satan's house is plundered.  But if you carefully analyze the enemy -- you realize that he uses the same tactics on us!  Your house cannot be plundered -- unless you are first bound.   And then Satan can plunder your house!

    • Daniel: Pictures of the Resurrection, Part 3

      Shalom everyone,

As we continue this study, I'll be focusing on Daniel and his picture of the resurrection and its connection with Yeshua (Jesus).

    • Abraham and Issac: Pictures of the Resurrection, Part 2
      Shalom everyone,

As we continue this series the next obvious sign of the resurrection in the Old Testament is the sign of Isaac and Abraham.

Gen 22:1  After these things God tested Abraham and said to him, "Abraham!" And he said, "Here I am."
Gen 22:2  He said, "Take your son, your only son Isaac, whom you love, and go to the land of Moriah, and offer him there as a burnt offering on one of the mountains of which I shall tell you."

So God "tests" Abraham and as a perfect picture of the coming sacrifice of God's only begotten Son (Yeshua - Jesus) God instructs Issac to go and sacrifice his son, Issac.  Where does he say to offer him?  On Moriah -- the exact location of the Temple Mount.
