Respectfully, your last reply on the Catholicism was nowhere close to the realm of debate. This kind of sarcasm and mean-spiritedness has no place in polite discussion; nor does it have any meaningful place in "debate." There is nothing funny about it. I sincerely doubt that any non-Catholic reading it would take it as "sarcastic humor."

Speaking of division, however, are you aware that the Nicolaitans (followers of Nicolas) were a divisive sect amongst the early church, who held the doctrine of Balaam? Take about division! These were ones who infiltrated the church with the doctrines of demons - teaching that it was lawful to eat things sacrificed to idols, and to commit fornication. I find it odd that you use such a name as a Catholic on this forum.

Nevertheless, the Lord Jesus was in no way a divisive person. Rather, He brought all men unto Himself, uniting Jew and Greek, Barbarian and Scythian, slave and free man into one new man, making peace between all men! The only divisiveness the Lord had was to man's corrupt and insufficient religion.

IN any case, I will discuss the issue no further. Even this course of discussion leads us further down into the quagmire of dissention and division. Do you love the Lord Jesus? So do I. Let's move on.

I believe i did not contribute to proper behavior either, getting caught up in the "discussion"

we are also warned about such things, about bringing the Word of God down to a level of debate....... questioning Gods Holy Word, just as satan did with Eve, caused her to question the commandment, and then in doing so, even got her to change it.... which then satan was able to deceive her into going against what she even knew was the command, and she ate.....

the command was not to eat of it, but satan bringing it down to a level of discussion, she added to it, and said that they were not to eat of it and not even touch it ....

then the full blown deception came in....

and we pretty much are doing the same thing, bringing the Lords Word down to our level, and below.....

I apologize for offending you, nicholas. It was never my intention to compare you with anyone - neither a Satan worshipper nor Santa Clause. I assumed - wrongly - that you took the nickname as a joke, or because of Pope Nicholas II. Incidentally, the Greek definition is "victor of the people" as in "victor over the people." The name indicates one who is victorious over a people, not a people who are victorious.

First off, however, I pulled the thread not because of your posts or anyone else's. I don't recall where I made the distinction, perhaps you could help? I pulled the thread because overall the course became more and more divisive.

Second, I have a very good reason for my nickname. You should read the thread on this forum where everyone gave reasons behind their nickname. "God-man" is not reserved for anyone. But the reality of God living in me, and His living out of me is the reality behind my nickname.
