I realize that medical advice opens up a can of liability worms so any responses will be considered strictly suggestions and off the record.

Yesterday my husband woke up limping on one foot.

It progessed worse throughout the day.

He did not sprain it, it is not swollen, is not bruised.

We soaked it in very warm water.

We gave him a foot bath with epsom salts.

Took asprins.

Still no better.

This morning it was even worse.

We noticed that the veins on his ankle and shin looked raised more than normal.

Like what vericose veins look like.

They were not like that yesterday.

I told him he needed to go to the doctor to check it out but he refused because we dont have insurance.

Does anyone have ANY ideas as to what these symptoms could be?

I think if I can find information that shows him how serious it can be, I might be able to convince him to see the doctor.

Please pray too.

Try google. There's tons of medical sites out there.

Type in the symptoms and see what comes up.

You could even try calling the hospital. Tell them what the problem is and who knows...pay attention to whay they tell you, then check it out on the web. Call 2 or 3 places if you have to....and don't forget the clinics.

I'm sorry but that's about all I got.

Happened practically over night.

Going to get some benedryl pills, maybe it was a reaction to fire ant bites or spider bite.

Hi, sister

Based on your description it looks like a Deep Venous Thrombosis (DVT.) The ailment is caused by obstruction of the deep veins in the leg due to thrombi (packs of platelets and fibrinogen) initiated at a place of damaged venous valves or endothelium (the inner lining of the vessel), which results in impaired circulation (distended veins), inflammation (pain) and functional claudication (limping.) If you press the calf it will elicit pain. In the coming days he may develop sensation problems, swelling of the leg and bruising of the skin. He needs to see an Angiologist (Vascular Surgeon) in order to ascertain the diagnosis with special investigations (e.g. doppler) and define an appropriate treatment. The main danger of DVT lies in the possibility of embolism to the lungs as the thrombi may dislodge from the original site and be carried elsewhere. It is imperative that he sees a doctor. The initial treatment may consist of anti-coagulants and analgesics.

Hope this helps.

Take him to a doctor IMMEDIATELY to get it x-rayed. You may need to go to a walk-in, in fact.

Your husband could have fractures in his lisfranc joints. If those joint are not immobilized ASAP he could suffer long-term damage to his foot. I cannot emphasize this enough: GET HIM TO A DOCTOR.

Nah. It's pretty rare that a heel spur causes pain.

it may be hard to get him to see a doctor, but i believe it's important to do so. most hospitals will bill you for the ER visit, and those that won't should be able to point you to one that will. call around so you don't waste time going all over the place.

also, what about a quick care clinic? they're generally cheaper than the hospital ER, and some will bill you. especially if there is one run by any university.

where i live there's 'university medical center quick care' locations all over town. they're not very quick, but they do bill you. there's also another small clinic which requires payment up front, but only charges $45 to be seen by a doctor.

i don't know where you live, but i'm sure there are similar options in your neck of the woods.

by the way, benedryl may not be enough even if it's a spider bite. for instance, if he was bit by a brown recluse, it will continue to get worse. it rots your flesh slowly from the point of origin on out.

besides, it's really better to find out IF it was a spider bite, or something more serious like someone else described.

Feet swell for alot of reasons, none of them good.

Does anyone in his family have osteoarthritis?

He could have a severe allergic reaction to something

He could have tiny fractures in his ankle that he does not know about

He could have a blockage of some kind, like phebitis or something which doesn't allow fluids to drain properly

How is his heart? Congestive heart failure will cause swelling in the extremities. High blood pressure will also (is he having any headaches or hot flashes or nausea?)

How is his urine? Kidney failure can cause swelling too

What about his eyes, is any of them swollen or droopy? My mother had cancer of the brain, the first two symptoms was swelling in her feet and a droopy eye lid. By the time she died, less than a month later, her feet were in danger of being amputated due to gangrene.

    • You are coming up higher in this season – above the assignments of character assassination and verbal arrows sent to manage you, contain you, and derail your purpose. Where you have had your dreams and sleep robbed, as well as your peace and clarity robbed – leaving you feeling foggy, confused, and heavy – God is, right now, bringing freedom back -- now you will clearly see the smoke and mirrors that were set to distract you and you will disengage.

Right now God is declaring a "no access zone" around you, and your enemies will no longer have any entry point into your life. Oil is being poured over you to restore the years that the locust ate and give you back your passion. This is where you will feel a fresh roar begin to erupt from your inner being, and a call to leave the trenches behind and begin your odyssey in your Christ calling moving you to bear fruit that remains as you minister to and disciple others into their Christ identity.

This is where you leave the trenches and scale the mountain to fight from a different place, from victory, from peace, and from rest. Now watch as God leads you up higher above all the noise, above all the chaos, and shows you where you have been seated all along with Him in heavenly places where you are UNTOUCHABLE. This is where you leave the soul fight, and the mind battle, and learn to fight differently.

You will know how to live like an eagle and lead others to the same place of safety and protection that God led you to, which broke you out of the silent prison you were in. Put your war boots on and get ready to fight back! Refuse to lay down -- get out of bed and rebuke what is coming at you. Remember where you are seated and live from that place.

Acts 1:8 - “But you will receive power when the Holy Spirit has come upon you, and you will be my witnesses … to the end of the earth.”

    • Understanding the Enemy!

I thought I write about the flip side of a topic, and how to recognize the attempts of the enemy to destroy lives and how you can walk in His victory!

For the Apostle Paul taught us not to be ignorant of enemy's tactics and strategies.

2 Corinthians 2:112  Lest Satan should get an advantage of us: for we are not ignorant of his devices.

So often, we can learn lessons by learning and playing "devil's" advocate.  When we read this passage,

Mar 3:26  And if Satan rise up against himself, and be divided, he cannot stand, but hath an end.
Mar 3:27  No man can enter into a strong man's house, and spoil his goods, except he will first bind the strongman; and then he will spoil his house.

Here we learn a lesson that in order to plunder one's house you must first BIND up the strongman.  While we realize in this particular passage this is referring to God binding up the strongman (Satan) and this is how Satan's house is plundered.  But if you carefully analyze the enemy -- you realize that he uses the same tactics on us!  Your house cannot be plundered -- unless you are first bound.   And then Satan can plunder your house!

    • Abraham and Issac: Pictures of the Resurrection, Part 2
      Shalom everyone,

As we continue this series the next obvious sign of the resurrection in the Old Testament is the sign of Isaac and Abraham.

Gen 22:1  After these things God tested Abraham and said to him, "Abraham!" And he said, "Here I am."
Gen 22:2  He said, "Take your son, your only son Isaac, whom you love, and go to the land of Moriah, and offer him there as a burnt offering on one of the mountains of which I shall tell you."

So God "tests" Abraham and as a perfect picture of the coming sacrifice of God's only begotten Son (Yeshua - Jesus) God instructs Issac to go and sacrifice his son, Issac.  Where does he say to offer him?  On Moriah -- the exact location of the Temple Mount.
