:x: Seriously my pastor got home like Saturday last week from a 2 week cruise. He left again today. Gone for the weekend. Once again our shepherd is out gallivanting. He preforms a wedding Sunday afternoon I know that. I am not sure where they are but he arrived safely. Comments? He left after complaining about money shortage in the church (form a man with a $40,000 salary). Says we can't run our van ministry as much as we need to. Also word is the elders are complaining that we have the kids away from their parents too much. We used to have them 6 hours a week now we only have them 4.

I started to write my on person thoughts on this... but decided not to. Maybe theres more behind the story...than what you are aware of! If there is wrong doing, it should be bought up by your deacons and board members, they should address the situation.

We had a similar situation in my former church. But alot of the problems were not discovered until the pastor and his staff had left. I still am un sure about the complete truth behind it....Guess it's in the Lord's to handle.

I agree it's in the Lords hands. Funny thing he leaves and the strife and stress comes back cause no one will do anything without the pastors ok, and he's gone again!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! :suspect:

It sounds as if it is time to do something...... Talk dont seem to be working.......

If the church is one the pastor started, devoloped, built ( the building ) and such, then you may have a different problem......

if the pastor just moved in and took over when the previous pastor moved on, with out a vote, then that can be a problem....

if the pastor is the church, the one in charge of the building, equipment and such, owning it or renting it under his name as being the guarenteer, then he might have a problem if when he comes back some time and no one is in the church anymore......

a flock with out a shepherd will wonder and get lost, or find another shepherd to provide for them.....

a shepherd with a rebellous flock, will have a hard time keeping the flock together, moving in the same direction.

a body where one part is not functioning, but is also causing problems with the rest of the body, such as a leg that has died, or turned gangreen, must be separated from the body, lest the entire body dies......

you may or may not have seen it, but some diabetics, have problems with circulation, to the point that they end up loosing a limb because it dies from lack of blood flow...

if that limb is not removed, it will cause the rest of the body to die..... literally.....

the body of the church is the same way.... if you have a dead member to the body, it either has to be REVIVED, OR REMOVED..... if it can not be revived, then removal is the next step, for if it stays, it will effect the rest of the body, and it also will die......

some things that kill parts of the body......

strife, jealousy, envy, anger, bitterness, laziness, gossip, pride, selfcenteredness, and more.......

as has been mentioned, this must be taken before the Lord, and I mean in prayer and fasting...... bring the elders together and stay in seasion until God has revealed His desire.......

the elders need to also take responsibility for the flock when the pastor is not availible.... and the Deacons, and then the rest of the congregation....

from what i have seen and experienced in my life, thru self and thru observation, probably about 90 % of things that happen to a person, is of their own doing....

meaning, out of every thing that happens to you , 90% you caused, not some one else.......

i have seen people that would claim that 100% was other people doing it to them.... no, wrong, they were not taking responsibility for their own actions...... with those, it would be more like every thing that happened to them was of their own doings, their own actions, or maybe inaction......

seek the Lord on this, if a person is not willing to speak out what is needed or willing to step out and do something, i believe it best not to even say anything.....

just like voting..... if you do not vote, you do not have the privilage to complain about the administration...... so vote.... if you are not willing to take action, then do not speak against those that are taking action, or trying to do something.....

inaction is just as wrong as the wrong action, actually, i feel it is worse.....

very respectfully,

your friend and brother...

mike

My heart is heavy. I know there's wonderful pastors out there and they should be paid for their work. They deserve vacations and $40,000 isn't that much money...it's reasonable in most regions, although in some areas it wouldn't barely make it....

It'd be enough in Florida but Illinois...no chance. It costs a fortune to live up north...winter clothing, snow tires, extra maintainance costs for your cars, the cost of heating fuel...etc.

Here in Florida...we dress the same most the year, no snow tires or tows to worry with...and our utility bills are always low. I think our highest and hottest month was $120, and we have a big house (and I like air conditioning... a lot).

So, it's hard to say if his salary is very high depending on where in the country you live. To me, that's not a lot of money. It's somewhere in the middle.

If the wife doesn't work, it's not much at all. He has to feed the whole brood.

But if he loves his work, that should be the focus, right? Does he have medical and dental care? That can cost a bundle!!! Then there's the cost of prescriptions.

It costs a lot to feed a family these days.

    • You are coming up higher in this season – above the assignments of character assassination and verbal arrows sent to manage you, contain you, and derail your purpose. Where you have had your dreams and sleep robbed, as well as your peace and clarity robbed – leaving you feeling foggy, confused, and heavy – God is, right now, bringing freedom back -- now you will clearly see the smoke and mirrors that were set to distract you and you will disengage.

Right now God is declaring a "no access zone" around you, and your enemies will no longer have any entry point into your life. Oil is being poured over you to restore the years that the locust ate and give you back your passion. This is where you will feel a fresh roar begin to erupt from your inner being, and a call to leave the trenches behind and begin your odyssey in your Christ calling moving you to bear fruit that remains as you minister to and disciple others into their Christ identity.

This is where you leave the trenches and scale the mountain to fight from a different place, from victory, from peace, and from rest. Now watch as God leads you up higher above all the noise, above all the chaos, and shows you where you have been seated all along with Him in heavenly places where you are UNTOUCHABLE. This is where you leave the soul fight, and the mind battle, and learn to fight differently.

You will know how to live like an eagle and lead others to the same place of safety and protection that God led you to, which broke you out of the silent prison you were in. Put your war boots on and get ready to fight back! Refuse to lay down -- get out of bed and rebuke what is coming at you. Remember where you are seated and live from that place.

Acts 1:8 - “But you will receive power when the Holy Spirit has come upon you, and you will be my witnesses … to the end of the earth.”

    • Understanding the Enemy!

I thought I write about the flip side of a topic, and how to recognize the attempts of the enemy to destroy lives and how you can walk in His victory!

For the Apostle Paul taught us not to be ignorant of enemy's tactics and strategies.

2 Corinthians 2:112  Lest Satan should get an advantage of us: for we are not ignorant of his devices.

So often, we can learn lessons by learning and playing "devil's" advocate.  When we read this passage,

Mar 3:26  And if Satan rise up against himself, and be divided, he cannot stand, but hath an end.
Mar 3:27  No man can enter into a strong man's house, and spoil his goods, except he will first bind the strongman; and then he will spoil his house.

Here we learn a lesson that in order to plunder one's house you must first BIND up the strongman.  While we realize in this particular passage this is referring to God binding up the strongman (Satan) and this is how Satan's house is plundered.  But if you carefully analyze the enemy -- you realize that he uses the same tactics on us!  Your house cannot be plundered -- unless you are first bound.   And then Satan can plunder your house!

    • Abraham and Issac: Pictures of the Resurrection, Part 2
      Shalom everyone,

As we continue this series the next obvious sign of the resurrection in the Old Testament is the sign of Isaac and Abraham.

Gen 22:1  After these things God tested Abraham and said to him, "Abraham!" And he said, "Here I am."
Gen 22:2  He said, "Take your son, your only son Isaac, whom you love, and go to the land of Moriah, and offer him there as a burnt offering on one of the mountains of which I shall tell you."

So God "tests" Abraham and as a perfect picture of the coming sacrifice of God's only begotten Son (Yeshua - Jesus) God instructs Issac to go and sacrifice his son, Issac.  Where does he say to offer him?  On Moriah -- the exact location of the Temple Mount.
