I also fully believe in partaking of the Lord's Body and Blood. We are to do this in remembrance. His blood washes us clean as snow and by His broken body you were healed.

In cultural context, not discerning the Body did have something to do with the Body of Christ, as in the Church, not mass/communion per se.  I Cor. 11:18 ff. talk about divisions, haughty cliques, and some having 'hotdogs' while others had 'steak' at the meal before the Lord's Supper.

Tatie: I went forward at church in proxy for you and my wife (MS) as the Pastor called us to a point of contact to meet the Healer. The presence of God was palpable.

Heb. 11:6 "And without faith it is impossible to please God, because anyone who comes to him must believe that he exists, and that he rewards those who earnestly seek him."

James 5:13-18  There is more than one way that God brings healing (e.g. we pray, others pray, laying on of hands, elders, spit in the eye, command, etc.)

godrulz,

"In cultural context" is a meaningless statement. The context of the passage is clear.

"I went forth at church in proxy" is not Biblical.

Tatie,

I am a physician. I hear and understand your fear. Having faced both disease and my wife needing emergency surgery its terrifying not having the answers. But I would not rely upon any magical formulas. God's grace is free. Grace is God's favor and He gives it liberally to all freely. God favors and loves you as much as His own Son. There is nothing you need do in an attempt to get His attention. You have His attention. In my practice I have walked to the end with some glorious warriors of the faith. God's grace was sufficient, no matter what His ultimate answer was to their prayers.

I would strongly recommend that you get a good...and preferably Christian Family Physician or Internist that can pray and guide you through your next steps. I completely agree with the advice previously given regarding nutrition. Your physician can help guide you as you make these life changes. The Lord may use physicians and nurses to work with your body in healing. This too is a miracle that we should all consider precious.

This world is a broken place where our weaknesses only grow stronger as our flesh begins to break down. The good news for us all is that these fleshly, earthly bodies are not our futures!!! We will be free from the stain of sin!! We will be free from death, decay and disease!!! We will walk in the freedom from sin, death and disease because the cross purchased that freedom for us!!!

"Our earthly bodies, which die and decay, will be different when they are resurrected, for they will never die. Our bodies now disappoint us, but when they are raised, they will be full of glory. They are weak now, but when they are raised, they will be full of power. They are natural human bodies now, but when they are raised, they will be spiritual bodies. For just as there are natural bodies, so also there are spiritual bodies." 1 Corinthians 15:42-44.

"Yet what we suffer now is nothing compared to the glory he will give us later. For all creation is waiting eagerly for that future day when God will reveal who his children really are. Against its will, everything on earth was subjected to God's curse. All creation anticipates the day when it will join God's children in glorious freedom from death and decay. For we know that all creation has been groaning as in the pains of childbirth right up to the present time. And even we Christians, although we have the Holy Spirit within us as a foretaste of future glory, also groan to be released from pain and suffering. We, too, wait anxiously for that day when God will give us our full rights as his children, including the new bodies he has promised us. Now that we are saved, we eagerly look forward to this freedom. For if you already have something, you don't need to hope for it. But if we look forward to something we don't have yet, we must wait patiently and confidently." Romans 8:18-25

We will be free from sin, death, pain and disease!! Until our complete redemption we must stand on His promises and feel the power of His grace. The miracle is sometimes not a flashy external manifestation that we all so desperately seek. Sometimes its that silent whisper that "My grace is sufficient for you" as we take the Lord's hand and walk through those mundane details of daily life that ultimately give true meaning and happiness.

Tatie, take a few moments to look at that website listed at the bottom of my post.

Journey, thank you for a such a comforting post, but I am not ready to die yet! I want to believe God will heal me. When I know it's my time to go, I will not be afraid (at least I hope I won't be), it's the living and trying to recover and believing against all odds that I need help with.

Tatie,

Please do not take my posts as a post about death!! Its about LIFE!!!

Its about healing from sin, death and disease!!

I just think we need to understand the full message from the Word of God. Many want to control God. Make all kinds of demands and use Him like a rich daddy in the sky. With just the right words and acting like the perfect child maybe just maybe Daddy will do what we want.

How different was the attitude of Christ. He taught us to pray focused on our servanthood to the Father and our brothers and sisters. Not on what I can get. I want I want I want. I want wealth. I want health. I want I want I want...OK now I demand I demand I demand. DO IT!!!! It just saddens the Master because none of these things bring fulfillment. Oh that the Church would stop all this foolishness and learn to store up treasures in heaven.

We are all servants to the Master. We are tools. We must have the attitude that I want to be used by you Lord. If it must be in sickness then pour your Grace upon me and lets get to the business of the Kingdom. If its healing then pour out your Grace and lets get to the business of the Kindgom. Your will Father...not what I want but what you want. WOW!!! it seems revolutionary in todays ME ME ME Americanized Church.

I think we discussed on this board before, that we can safely assume that God want everyone to be healed. By his stripes we are healed, we just need to accept it by faith like salvation. It is ours. We must believe it, otherwise we cannot recover. Yes, sometimes peole do not heal, why? We don't know. No one knows. BUT can you find a verse in the bible where it says sometimes God will heal and sometimes not?

Yes the cross redeems us from sin, death and disease. But we are still in flesh and we still sin. We still bear the consequences of being part of the broken dying world. Our redemption is past, present and future.

I will pray that the Lord gives you clarity of thought and that he fills and empowers you with His Holy Spirit. I will seek the Lord's face that He would free you from this physical disease and that it would be a testimony bringing others into the Kingdom of Light!

Tatie, Believe the bible and not those that would try to take healing away from God's children! They are wrong. Please don't let the devil talk you out of believing God for healing.

Jesus healed all that came to Him, and He is the same yesterday today and forever. By his stripes we are healed. He has already bore our pains and diseases and was brutally beaten for our healing.

On two occasions in the gospels people were not healed. In Jesus home town where he could do "no mighty works" because of THEIR unbelief. And when the disciples were given the power to heal all manner of diseases they could not heal the little boy Jesus said "because of their unbelief". So don't listen to those who would try to seed you with unbelief. Believe the word of God.

Matthew 9:35:

And Jesus went about all the cities and villages, teaching in their synagogues, and preaching the gospel of the kingdom, and healing every sickness and every disease among the people.

Jesus did not make exceptions and tell people they had to keep their sickness for a reason. Peter and Paul did not make exceptions and tell people they had to glorify God in their sickness. The Bible pattern is simple. You cannot be an exception. Don't let the devil lie to you and tell you that there is some reason you can't get healed. You CAN get healed!

The last thing you need though is religious minds putting doubt in your head about God's willingness to heal you. They would want to turn this forum topic into a circus like the other ones they are on. So if they start that kind of silliness, please report them to the moderators.

God Bless You, and Only Believe. If your child was sick and it was in your power to heal and comfort your child, to do anything less would be abusive. God is not abusing His children. That is the devils job. God is the Healer and it is His will to heal all. Just remember to forgive all, worship and adore the Father, and keep the word on healing in your heart.

Tatie, here is an article that I found helpful. God healed me and he is no respecter of persons.

Objection: "Claiming" your healing is an arrogant attempt to twist God's arm

Then shame on you for "making" God renew your spirit and let you into heaven, which he did when you claimed the forgiveness that was available to you. God did not do a new sacrificial work for you. You just claimed something that was waiting for you. You arm-twister, you.

There is nothing arrogant about receiving something that is already yours as far as God is concerned. Peter writes that your healing is in the past tense (1 Peter 2:24). In God's eyes, it is rightfully yours because you are a Christian. You are simply receiving something that God has already decided to give you.

Suppose I walk into my bank. I tell the teller that I want to withdraw some money from my account. Then the teller says, "You're mighty arrogant, aren't you? Trying to twist my arm?" The tellers don't say that at my bank! They were a little bit like that at my former bank. The ATM had a better personality than they did. They acted inconvenienced that a customer would appear at their windows, but even they never called me arrogant or accused me of arm-twisting when I made a withdrawal. I was simply getting what was already mine.

Why do you think God provided healing for you by the stripes of Jesus? So that you could sit there and act fake-o-humble and stay sick? Of course not! Jesus was not wasting his time when he was lashed! His body was torn up so that your body would not have to be torn up. He has deposited healing into your heavenly bank account. You have the right to make a withdrawal at any time. That's why God put it there!

You aren't twisting God's arm because you aren't even asking God to make a decision. He made the decision to heal you before he sent Jesus to bear the curse written in the law (which includes all diseases). You are not asking God to do anything. You really aren't as much claiming a promise as you are acting on a fact. 1 Peter 2:24 does not promise anything. It is a statement of a historical fact concerning your healing. You are acting on the facts of your covenant, not asking God to do something special for you. God already did all he needs to do. Healing is in your account waiting for you to make a withdrawal.

God is faithful to his Word. You don't have to "twist his arm" to get him to honor it!

St. John,

This is very easy theology.

Sin=death and disease.

Sarx=flesh=part of this sinful broken diseased world under the curse of God.

Ergo.....you stop sinning....you stop dying...you would have no sarx and would live forever as Adam and Eve in the garden.

Did Christ bear our disease on the cross. Yes, he bore our sins...disease..death on the cross. But our redemption is not complete. Let me state that again, our redemption is not complete!

Will will be redeemed from sin, death and disease. His body was the cost and the Holy Spirit is the guarantee. But it has not happended yet.

This sarx is not the final summation of God's wonderful plan. It puzzles me why some would want so many treasures here on the Earth.

End of soteriology 101.

    • You are coming up higher in this season – above the assignments of character assassination and verbal arrows sent to manage you, contain you, and derail your purpose. Where you have had your dreams and sleep robbed, as well as your peace and clarity robbed – leaving you feeling foggy, confused, and heavy – God is, right now, bringing freedom back -- now you will clearly see the smoke and mirrors that were set to distract you and you will disengage.

Right now God is declaring a "no access zone" around you, and your enemies will no longer have any entry point into your life. Oil is being poured over you to restore the years that the locust ate and give you back your passion. This is where you will feel a fresh roar begin to erupt from your inner being, and a call to leave the trenches behind and begin your odyssey in your Christ calling moving you to bear fruit that remains as you minister to and disciple others into their Christ identity.

This is where you leave the trenches and scale the mountain to fight from a different place, from victory, from peace, and from rest. Now watch as God leads you up higher above all the noise, above all the chaos, and shows you where you have been seated all along with Him in heavenly places where you are UNTOUCHABLE. This is where you leave the soul fight, and the mind battle, and learn to fight differently.

You will know how to live like an eagle and lead others to the same place of safety and protection that God led you to, which broke you out of the silent prison you were in. Put your war boots on and get ready to fight back! Refuse to lay down -- get out of bed and rebuke what is coming at you. Remember where you are seated and live from that place.

Acts 1:8 - “But you will receive power when the Holy Spirit has come upon you, and you will be my witnesses … to the end of the earth.”

    • Understanding the Enemy!

I thought I write about the flip side of a topic, and how to recognize the attempts of the enemy to destroy lives and how you can walk in His victory!

For the Apostle Paul taught us not to be ignorant of enemy's tactics and strategies.

2 Corinthians 2:112  Lest Satan should get an advantage of us: for we are not ignorant of his devices.

So often, we can learn lessons by learning and playing "devil's" advocate.  When we read this passage,

Mar 3:26  And if Satan rise up against himself, and be divided, he cannot stand, but hath an end.
Mar 3:27  No man can enter into a strong man's house, and spoil his goods, except he will first bind the strongman; and then he will spoil his house.

Here we learn a lesson that in order to plunder one's house you must first BIND up the strongman.  While we realize in this particular passage this is referring to God binding up the strongman (Satan) and this is how Satan's house is plundered.  But if you carefully analyze the enemy -- you realize that he uses the same tactics on us!  Your house cannot be plundered -- unless you are first bound.   And then Satan can plunder your house!

      Shalom everyone,

    • Abraham and Issac: Pictures of the Resurrection, Part 2
      Shalom everyone,

As we continue this series the next obvious sign of the resurrection in the Old Testament is the sign of Isaac and Abraham.

Gen 22:1  After these things God tested Abraham and said to him, "Abraham!" And he said, "Here I am."
Gen 22:2  He said, "Take your son, your only son Isaac, whom you love, and go to the land of Moriah, and offer him there as a burnt offering on one of the mountains of which I shall tell you."

So God "tests" Abraham and as a perfect picture of the coming sacrifice of God's only begotten Son (Yeshua - Jesus) God instructs Issac to go and sacrifice his son, Issac.  Where does he say to offer him?  On Moriah -- the exact location of the Temple Mount.
