I'm the same way Sierra, my cycles began when I was 10 and they were always heavy and very painful, my mother would not allow me to use birth control to regulate the hormones so I suffered in pain.... My ovaries surrounded by cysts and overgrowth of uterine tissue, much misery could've been prevented by the regulation of hormones and cycles.

Mom had her reasons, mostly she did not condone the idea of sexual freedom 'the pill' suggested... She also did not condone the use of tampons, she wanted me to be able to 'prove my virginity'. It didn't matter that we were living in the 20th century or that I was very athetically involved in a competitive sport, that made the 'diaper' experience even worse or the fact that all my physical activities posed an equal amount of danger to the hymen... But that was a long time ago [the '80's] and she thinks differently about it now. She understands now, better late than never I suppose... And this is a woman with a medical degree.... She had attended a very strict Pentecostal church as a child/young woman, that contributed to that way of thinking.

It wasn't until I married that I was able to get everything back in sync with the help of 'the pill' it was also discovered that the polycystic ovarian disease and endometreosis helped to contribute to me being infertile. Perhaps if I had been treated earlier I may have been able to have at least one child, but... Only recently did I discover that an auto-immune disorder may also have contributed to infertility by the body attacking sperm and/or fetus, so maybe it didn't matter either way.

Stories like this sadden me because I can relate in a way, though I'm a guy, so not exactly, but I know what religious bondage is as it regards sex. I basicly grew up thinking it was a sin to even mention sex. I was never given any sort of "talk" like other boys seem to get while they are growing up. So I guess at least someone taught you a semi-christian perspective of sex. My parents were afraid to say anything about the subject, as I said. Maybe they had good intentions, but they were afraid to mention it at all in, other than "don't do it and don't talk about it." and you knew not to, or you'd get an ear full or told just not to ask that question. I'm glad they had a sex ed class in public school because that's about the closest thing I learned to the truth, because parents sure weren't going to discuss it. So a number of times it was get out the encyclopedia or a medical dictionary and read it for myself.

This still happens. In one case I know a girl was home schooled in a Christian home. Sex was not talked about . Now she is a unwed teenage mum. On the Christian radio station I'm hearing more that we as Christians need to talk to our children about it before they get the secular view on it.

I work in a secular secondary school where several Christian children are sent.

Birth Control is taught here. Some children are as young as 10 years when they are introduced to it. Sex education has now been put in the Science Curriculum (at this school not necessarily all schools) so parents do not need to be notified and so all children can benefit. This include showing how to put on condoms (explicitly). A cartoon is seen at yr 10 (14-15yr) which shows visually how to have sex including foreplay, positions etc... I don't think the parents have any idea.

Condoms and other contraceptions are given out without question by the school councillor. The school seem to think parents do not know what there children are up to so they must look after them in this area. There no parent consultation here at all. If the child becomes pregnant they are taken by a school councillor to have a termination. I've been told termination, abortion terms are not allowed to be said. The children are told they are going to a nurse who will get their periods back to normal.

Yikes...I don't know how they get away with that. When we did sex-ed it was all very medically-oriented and antiseptic. None of this graphic image and positions junk.

I don't think it happens at all schools here. I work as a teacher aide which is how I found out what is being taught and shown. All this is legal in NZ. It is sad.

There is a lot of emphasis of putting on a condom. They teach this because of the amount of sexually active children here. Sex outside marriage is never taught as being wrong. If someone doesn't want to have sex it is taught that is ok too. They want these children to keep themselves safe.

this is WAAAAAY beyond crossing the line. these teachers have no right whatsoever to do this. esp without the parents knowing. this just sounds like some freak cult.

These policies generally go through schools.

It is a government policy

I agree with you that it is not right.

    • You are coming up higher in this season – above the assignments of character assassination and verbal arrows sent to manage you, contain you, and derail your purpose. Where you have had your dreams and sleep robbed, as well as your peace and clarity robbed – leaving you feeling foggy, confused, and heavy – God is, right now, bringing freedom back -- now you will clearly see the smoke and mirrors that were set to distract you and you will disengage.

Right now God is declaring a "no access zone" around you, and your enemies will no longer have any entry point into your life. Oil is being poured over you to restore the years that the locust ate and give you back your passion. This is where you will feel a fresh roar begin to erupt from your inner being, and a call to leave the trenches behind and begin your odyssey in your Christ calling moving you to bear fruit that remains as you minister to and disciple others into their Christ identity.

This is where you leave the trenches and scale the mountain to fight from a different place, from victory, from peace, and from rest. Now watch as God leads you up higher above all the noise, above all the chaos, and shows you where you have been seated all along with Him in heavenly places where you are UNTOUCHABLE. This is where you leave the soul fight, and the mind battle, and learn to fight differently.

You will know how to live like an eagle and lead others to the same place of safety and protection that God led you to, which broke you out of the silent prison you were in. Put your war boots on and get ready to fight back! Refuse to lay down -- get out of bed and rebuke what is coming at you. Remember where you are seated and live from that place.

Acts 1:8 - “But you will receive power when the Holy Spirit has come upon you, and you will be my witnesses … to the end of the earth.”

    • George Whitten, the visionary behind Worthy Ministries and Worthy News, explores the timing of the Simchat Torah War in Israel. Is this a water-breaking moment? Does the timing of the conflict on October 7 with Hamas signify something more significant on the horizon?

    • Understanding the Enemy!

I thought I write about the flip side of a topic, and how to recognize the attempts of the enemy to destroy lives and how you can walk in His victory!

For the Apostle Paul taught us not to be ignorant of enemy's tactics and strategies.

2 Corinthians 2:112  Lest Satan should get an advantage of us: for we are not ignorant of his devices.

So often, we can learn lessons by learning and playing "devil's" advocate.  When we read this passage,

Mar 3:26  And if Satan rise up against himself, and be divided, he cannot stand, but hath an end.
Mar 3:27  No man can enter into a strong man's house, and spoil his goods, except he will first bind the strongman; and then he will spoil his house.

Here we learn a lesson that in order to plunder one's house you must first BIND up the strongman.  While we realize in this particular passage this is referring to God binding up the strongman (Satan) and this is how Satan's house is plundered.  But if you carefully analyze the enemy -- you realize that he uses the same tactics on us!  Your house cannot be plundered -- unless you are first bound.   And then Satan can plunder your house!

    • Abraham and Issac: Pictures of the Resurrection, Part 2
      Shalom everyone,

As we continue this series the next obvious sign of the resurrection in the Old Testament is the sign of Isaac and Abraham.

Gen 22:1  After these things God tested Abraham and said to him, "Abraham!" And he said, "Here I am."
Gen 22:2  He said, "Take your son, your only son Isaac, whom you love, and go to the land of Moriah, and offer him there as a burnt offering on one of the mountains of which I shall tell you."

So God "tests" Abraham and as a perfect picture of the coming sacrifice of God's only begotten Son (Yeshua - Jesus) God instructs Issac to go and sacrifice his son, Issac.  Where does he say to offer him?  On Moriah -- the exact location of the Temple Mount.
