Unless words don't mean what they say, EVERLASTING salvation must indeed refer to the LENGTH of one's salvation thru the blood of the cross. If one can lose EVERLASTING salvation, one never possessed it in the first place! If an individual is an AMERICAN, how can that individual NOT be an American AT THE SAME TIME?

And, of course, if one can indeed lose EVERLASTING salvation (which is the ONLY kind offered by Jehovah God), then the Lord Jesus Christ will have to CHANGE what He said re NEVER having known us......IE, "Depart from Me, ye workers of iniquity, I NEVER knew you" - which would have to be radically altered to read, "Depart from Me, ye workers of iniquity. I ONCE KNEW YOU, but I don't know you now!" Hmm.

And, then, too, if one was saved, then lost again, wouldn't THAT involve being born THRICE, rather than the twice of John Chapter 3? Yup. So where in all the Holy Bible do we have ONE example of anyone at any time being saved, then re-lost, then re-saved? Verrry interesting, no? Yes, quite poignant to say the least.

The Apostle Paul does tell us in his epistle to the Romans that because the Lord has saved us DOESN'T mean we can return to living a life of sin in order to "better" prove God's tremendous grace over & over again.

Have a GREAT Sunday in the House of the Lord! Thank You, Jesus!

A BLESSED Christmas to one and all.....thru our matchless Saviour!

God bless America!

P.S. Now off to Starbucks for an expresso & a small rice biscuit. Say it isn't so.

Paul also said that he wasn't saved, that we aren't to know until we stand before the Almighty.

You must be R.C. or a cult member to think that twice-born individuals die as dogs or pussy cats......relegated to nothingness until Jehovah God makes up His mind re our eternal destiny. What do you do with "IS passed from death unto life"? The PRESENT tense is quite succinct.

And further, of course one can move elsewhere, but he can't be an American residing in America, move to Australia and then assert that he was never an American and an American resident at any time! Your "everlasting" leaves much to be desired. I'm glad it's not mine.

I'm also fairly sorry that you chose not to apply yourself to the pertinent points raised. Whatever.........

Have a GREAT Lord's Day!

God bless America!

Human beings live on Earth to fight against evil.

We have to fight because Adam sinned against God and that's why the fight lasts our entire human life.

We can persevere thanks to God's grace.

If we persevere until the last moment, our reward is eternal salvation.

The rules of salvation are "pretty simple" so we must never fall aspleep during our trial.

Arthur, don't pretend you don't know Douay is a catholic. I know that you know because he has a thread about the papacy in here and you read all the threads about it because you are absolutely against it.

I believe you pretended that was just to have the opportunity to slam his as a "member of a cult".

I remind you that there are objective differences between Churches, Sects and Cults so it does not depend on the "respect" you might have for an institution. For example, even if I don't agree with what the Anglican Church stands for, I can't call them "a cult" because they have the objective requirements needed to be a Church like a specific creed and so on.

If you don't like the Catholic Church at all, that's a respectable opinion but when you criticize it don't call it a "cult" because it is not. It is a Church.

P.S. Please turn the "caps lock" off :P

Arthur Durnan, with all due respect, you seem to be using nothing more than a human argument. You quoted only one passage of Scripture and failed to read Matthew 25:1-13 which clearly states the same thing you denied that Jesus can say. It talks about the virgins that are ready and the virgins that are not ready when Jesus comes back. To 5 he is pleased and lets them in heaven, to the other 5 he says:

I don't know you.

That is exactly what you denied early on in your post. You failed to read the rest of Scripture when you quoted it. We need to accept ALL of what the Bible teaches, not just parts that fit our pre-conceived theology.

It is pretty much in line with what Arthur said. If Jesus said "Depart from Me workers of iniquity, I never knew you."

It would be the same thing as what you quoted: "I don't know you."

There is nothing to imply that He ever knew them. That must mean that they were never His to begin with, because Jesus states that He knows ALL of His children. Even the disobidient ones.

Just asking a question......

2 Peter 2:15 Which have forsaken the right way, and are gone astray, following the way of Balaam the son of Bosor, who loved the wages of unrighteousness; 16 But was rebuked for his iniquity: the dumb ass speaking with man's voice forbad the madness of the prophet. 17 These are wells without water, clouds that are carried with a tempest; to whom the mist of darkness is reserved for ever. 18 For when they speak great swelling words of vanity, they allure through the lusts of the flesh, through much wantonness, those that were clean escaped from them who live in error. 19 While they promise them liberty, they themselves are the servants of corruption: for of whom a man is overcome, of the same is he brought in bondage. 20 For if after they have escaped the pollutions of the world through the knowledge of the Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ, they are again entangled therein, and overcome, the latter end is worse with them than the beginning. 21 For it had been better for them not to have known the way of righteousness, than, after they have known it, to turn from the holy commandment delivered unto them.

??? Something to ponder?

In His Love,

Suzanne

Hi Sagz! I trust that everything is going well with you!

It would be the same thing as what you quoted: "I don't know you."

I see what you are getting at, but remember that ALL of the people in question are refered to as "virgins". These are people who are saints according to Christ. They have to be because we are the bride of Christ, thereby making us virgins.

There is nothing to imply that He ever knew them.  That must mean that they were never His to begin with, because Jesus states that He knows ALL of His children.  Even the disobidient ones.

Explain to me again how this doctrine is not a license to sin? :x: :t2:

Charles Stanley has in his book on eternal security that there will be a place in heaven where there will be a fiery furnace in the outer darkness where there will be weeping and gnashing of teeth. Isn't that a strange intrepretation? He says this because he knows all of the parables where a servant of Christ is sent to the lake of fire due to various reasons, including not being a good steward and violence towards other believers.

    • You are coming up higher in this season – above the assignments of character assassination and verbal arrows sent to manage you, contain you, and derail your purpose. Where you have had your dreams and sleep robbed, as well as your peace and clarity robbed – leaving you feeling foggy, confused, and heavy – God is, right now, bringing freedom back -- now you will clearly see the smoke and mirrors that were set to distract you and you will disengage.

Right now God is declaring a "no access zone" around you, and your enemies will no longer have any entry point into your life. Oil is being poured over you to restore the years that the locust ate and give you back your passion. This is where you will feel a fresh roar begin to erupt from your inner being, and a call to leave the trenches behind and begin your odyssey in your Christ calling moving you to bear fruit that remains as you minister to and disciple others into their Christ identity.

This is where you leave the trenches and scale the mountain to fight from a different place, from victory, from peace, and from rest. Now watch as God leads you up higher above all the noise, above all the chaos, and shows you where you have been seated all along with Him in heavenly places where you are UNTOUCHABLE. This is where you leave the soul fight, and the mind battle, and learn to fight differently.

You will know how to live like an eagle and lead others to the same place of safety and protection that God led you to, which broke you out of the silent prison you were in. Put your war boots on and get ready to fight back! Refuse to lay down -- get out of bed and rebuke what is coming at you. Remember where you are seated and live from that place.

Acts 1:8 - “But you will receive power when the Holy Spirit has come upon you, and you will be my witnesses … to the end of the earth.”

    • Understanding the Enemy!

I thought I write about the flip side of a topic, and how to recognize the attempts of the enemy to destroy lives and how you can walk in His victory!

For the Apostle Paul taught us not to be ignorant of enemy's tactics and strategies.

2 Corinthians 2:112  Lest Satan should get an advantage of us: for we are not ignorant of his devices.

So often, we can learn lessons by learning and playing "devil's" advocate.  When we read this passage,

Mar 3:26  And if Satan rise up against himself, and be divided, he cannot stand, but hath an end.
Mar 3:27  No man can enter into a strong man's house, and spoil his goods, except he will first bind the strongman; and then he will spoil his house.

Here we learn a lesson that in order to plunder one's house you must first BIND up the strongman.  While we realize in this particular passage this is referring to God binding up the strongman (Satan) and this is how Satan's house is plundered.  But if you carefully analyze the enemy -- you realize that he uses the same tactics on us!  Your house cannot be plundered -- unless you are first bound.   And then Satan can plunder your house!

    • Abraham and Issac: Pictures of the Resurrection, Part 2
      Shalom everyone,

As we continue this series the next obvious sign of the resurrection in the Old Testament is the sign of Isaac and Abraham.

Gen 22:1  After these things God tested Abraham and said to him, "Abraham!" And he said, "Here I am."
Gen 22:2  He said, "Take your son, your only son Isaac, whom you love, and go to the land of Moriah, and offer him there as a burnt offering on one of the mountains of which I shall tell you."

So God "tests" Abraham and as a perfect picture of the coming sacrifice of God's only begotten Son (Yeshua - Jesus) God instructs Issac to go and sacrifice his son, Issac.  Where does he say to offer him?  On Moriah -- the exact location of the Temple Mount.
