What you need to be studying is your Bible. You have a flawed, rather unbiblical view of God. Seems you prefer to hang on to your percptions at the expense of the truth.

So, do you not take God at His Word when He says that lists the 7 sins he hates? The word used in Proverbs 6:16 and is used as the opposite of love. Here we have a picture of the sins that God hates, (abhors, detests). It is up to you to demonstrate that it doesn't mean what it says.

Shilo, I can assure you I have many more flaws. I would like to say that I take God's word as the truth but that would just be politically correct and not exactly the truth. I do want to be in a place where I trust God completely. And it does sound great when one says it but I am not there, unfortunatly.

Would you rather I say the "correct" things or would you rather have me say the turth of where I'm at?

Maybe I could fool some people, some of the time but there is no way I can fool God.

When I said I should study "hate" and it's meanings, I meant studying in the Bible. So I will eventually get there :emot-questioned:

So, yes, my view of God may be flawed but that is where I'm at. Sorry.

Shalom Hupo,

After meeting you and your lovely wife here in Israel, I cannot fathom why you have to apologize for posting what you believe. I appreciate your honesty and your willingness to study the Bible and learn. I wish more of us were like you in our fervor and passion fof learning the Scriptures and applying them to our lives.

G-d bless you and I hope you are enjoying your visit with your family.

Guess what? I was baptized in the Jordan River today!! And later on we are going to Jeruslam and we will see what all the hub-bub is about with the excavations we are talking about in this thread. Have they re-started or not? :P I am excited to see Jerusalem!

I would rather that you told the truth. If you are not completely "on board" so to speak and in process of growing spiritually, I can understand and appreciate that. However, it would have been nice to have that information up front. It's always helpful when people explain at the outset that they have problems and issues to work through.

My beef here, is not with you, and you have nothing to apologize for. I have nothing but patience for those who have genuine questions and are actually searching for the truth.

Hey Vickilynn! It is strange writing to you here after meeting you in person. It was a great meeting and I see you did manage the next day even though you must have been exhausted. Sounds like you had a great time today. We were discussing the baptism and were sorry we couldn't be there with you.

Yes we are having a great time with our family but i'll leave this as it's a bit off-topic here.

As for apologizing.... I'm not apologizing for the way I am. I'm just sorry it is causing discomfort here, if it is.

Shilo was pointing out what he saw as a flaw, and I can well understand the point. He was right to be honest about the way he feels if he posts about it. I know I have a big flaw which is lack of total trust in the Lord. I pray some day I will get there. Was it Peter who sank while trying to walk on water? It was for lack of faith and I would sink like a rock.

Many a time I've aproached the Lord in prayer to give me thirst for His word. I'm in the desert now, as it is a great place to get thirsty in :21: .

Anyway, this forum is a warm place, as you mentioned. I can only thank Shilo for mentioning what he saw. Shilo, I see your post as a mirror and the best mirrors are those that reflect the real image (even when I don't quite like it  )

I'll say one thing "When the saints go marching in, I wanna be in that number" (L.Armstrong 17:56) :24:

God bless you Vickilynn, and you Shilo and this forum in general :)

Yes I can see now, that would have made things clearer, Sorry if I gave the wrong impression.

Just a few more words to clarify this: I was brought up studying the OT as compulsory in school. Also grew up with the idea that "Christians" are those who did all the bad things to us throughout history, including the holocaust. The NT was a "no-no" and Yeshua was THE enemy of the Jewish people. With all this as a background, it has taken me all of my 10 years as a believer to even get to reading the NT, let alone understand it. There is plenty of stuff I don't know and I guess it reflects in what I post.

My beef here, is not with you, and you have nothing to apologize for. I have nothing but patience for those who have genuine questions and are actually searching for the truth.

Shilo, I realize there is nothing personal in your post. I have no problem being enlightned by those who know more than I, and i'm not saying this cynically. Someone told be something that kind of stuck in my mind. When you teach your kids, they learn history, when you learn from them, you are learning about the future :noidea: and in other words, we can learn from anyone.

Thanks Shilo and I appreciate your response to my posts.

God bless :whistling:

I can appreciate that more than you realize.

Let me ask you this. You say you are believer, how do you excersize enough faith to be a believer in Yeshua, but cannot seem to believe the Bible from the Tenach when it reveals an aspect of God's character? Evidently, you have some faith in God's character, or you would not trust in Yeshua for salvation.

And if I might also ask, how did you become a believer? What does "believing in Yeshua" entail for you?

Yes I do have faith in Yeshua. If left to me I wouldn't have. I can only assume it was God's doing. He seemed to have my number and was slowly bringing me home. I never liked OT study as a kid, never had patience for reading it. Even today I am not "hot" about the bible. Wish I was. So my conclusion is that my having faith is a sign of what God is doing in my life.

And if I might also ask, how did you become a believer? What does "believing in Yeshua" entail for you?

I became a believer by decision. It didn't make any sense but I tried it and it worked. What I believe in is that Yeshua is the son of God and He died so I could live. I've been seperated from God by sin and Yeshua bridged that gap for me. Yeshua's sacrifice is from Love and by Grace. That is what salvation is all about, to my understanding.

God works through people. One of my daughters is God's angel in this process and so are two very special people from Alaska that I met on the internet. They have been 10 year spiritual companions.

The rest is history (in the making)

    • You are coming up higher in this season – above the assignments of character assassination and verbal arrows sent to manage you, contain you, and derail your purpose. Where you have had your dreams and sleep robbed, as well as your peace and clarity robbed – leaving you feeling foggy, confused, and heavy – God is, right now, bringing freedom back -- now you will clearly see the smoke and mirrors that were set to distract you and you will disengage.

Right now God is declaring a "no access zone" around you, and your enemies will no longer have any entry point into your life. Oil is being poured over you to restore the years that the locust ate and give you back your passion. This is where you will feel a fresh roar begin to erupt from your inner being, and a call to leave the trenches behind and begin your odyssey in your Christ calling moving you to bear fruit that remains as you minister to and disciple others into their Christ identity.

This is where you leave the trenches and scale the mountain to fight from a different place, from victory, from peace, and from rest. Now watch as God leads you up higher above all the noise, above all the chaos, and shows you where you have been seated all along with Him in heavenly places where you are UNTOUCHABLE. This is where you leave the soul fight, and the mind battle, and learn to fight differently.

You will know how to live like an eagle and lead others to the same place of safety and protection that God led you to, which broke you out of the silent prison you were in. Put your war boots on and get ready to fight back! Refuse to lay down -- get out of bed and rebuke what is coming at you. Remember where you are seated and live from that place.

Acts 1:8 - “But you will receive power when the Holy Spirit has come upon you, and you will be my witnesses … to the end of the earth.”

    • Understanding the Enemy!

I thought I write about the flip side of a topic, and how to recognize the attempts of the enemy to destroy lives and how you can walk in His victory!

For the Apostle Paul taught us not to be ignorant of enemy's tactics and strategies.

2 Corinthians 2:112  Lest Satan should get an advantage of us: for we are not ignorant of his devices.

So often, we can learn lessons by learning and playing "devil's" advocate.  When we read this passage,

Mar 3:26  And if Satan rise up against himself, and be divided, he cannot stand, but hath an end.
Mar 3:27  No man can enter into a strong man's house, and spoil his goods, except he will first bind the strongman; and then he will spoil his house.

Here we learn a lesson that in order to plunder one's house you must first BIND up the strongman.  While we realize in this particular passage this is referring to God binding up the strongman (Satan) and this is how Satan's house is plundered.  But if you carefully analyze the enemy -- you realize that he uses the same tactics on us!  Your house cannot be plundered -- unless you are first bound.   And then Satan can plunder your house!

    • Abraham and Issac: Pictures of the Resurrection, Part 2
      Shalom everyone,

As we continue this series the next obvious sign of the resurrection in the Old Testament is the sign of Isaac and Abraham.

Gen 22:1  After these things God tested Abraham and said to him, "Abraham!" And he said, "Here I am."
Gen 22:2  He said, "Take your son, your only son Isaac, whom you love, and go to the land of Moriah, and offer him there as a burnt offering on one of the mountains of which I shall tell you."

So God "tests" Abraham and as a perfect picture of the coming sacrifice of God's only begotten Son (Yeshua - Jesus) God instructs Issac to go and sacrifice his son, Issac.  Where does he say to offer him?  On Moriah -- the exact location of the Temple Mount.
