I think they are both equally suspect. The scientific community you trust in is made up of left-wing socialists with an agenda to harm industry. On the other hand, of course those in the oil companies are biased, and they are fighting back.

As to the complaints by some scientists that the administration is pressuring them to take a stand against global warming, big deal? They are likely liberals who hate the President and are just making claims to harm him politically. To me, they have zero credibility.

I think its funny that you complain the guy had no scientific background. Whenever one of the MANY climatologists who DO have a scientific background does speak out against the myth of Global warming you attempt to discredit them too.

Just admit it...you want to stack the house with people who ONLY support your view and you really have no interest in whether or not their qualifications stack up. You also don't care that positions such as this are rarely staffed with people who have extensive scientific backgrounds and you ONLY wish to enforce this qualification when it meets your needs.

No, my position is quite consistent. I accept the scientific consensus and I give credibility to scientists who publish their work for peer review in peer reviewed journals. That is ethical modern science in a nut-shell.

However, I do not give any credibility to scientists who challenge a scientific consensus, yet do so in the realms of Op/Eds without publishing any of their work for peer review in peer reviewed journals. I give even less credibility to scientists who are paid by various industry or ideological groups to promote an industry friendly view and who do not publish any of their work for peer review in peer reviewed journals.

If you would like to discuss the science behind Anthropogenic Global Warming, I would be glad to do so.

Let me add one thing though, if we are going to discuss the science behind this issue. It would probably be best to do so on a point by point basis rather than to throw an entire argument into one post as it is a fairly complicated issue.

I didn't take your offer of discussion as serious. I KNOW I haven't written any "peer reviewed" articles so I figured that would be your reply to everything I said. Quite frankly, I'm not certain you've written any either so whats the point really...since that seems to be the foundation for everything you say regarding this topic.

I don't care what you quote or not. All I am saying it is pointless to debate the politics of it. However, it is certainly a fruitful discussion to discuss the science that underlies this issue. For example, if you disagree with the scientific consensus on Anthropogenic Global Warming, then what empiracle evidence lead you to your conclusion? For example, do you attribute the current warming to Solar Variances rather than the Greenhouse Effect?
