Therefore the Christian couple are giving a false witness to the world that sexual immorality is perfectly fine. A man and woman need their union to be witnessed by people and a covenant made in front of these witnesses and in front of God. Today this covenant is carried out be abiding by the laws of the land you live in, just as the Israelites carried out their marriage ceremonies and everyone else who followed, yes they varied greatly, but still they have to be observed. Exodus 22:16 "If a man seduces a virgin who is not pledged to be married and sleeps with her, he must pay the bride-price, and she shall be his wife. This is one such example, a man who has what we can read here as a one night stand or fling, or even rapes a woman, must pay the bride price, which was the legally binding marriage part, if being legally bound in eyes of the law and customs wasn

This question is nothing personal. What is a marriage to God? Two who God has joined together. What is a marriage to society? A piece of paper by the government. I'm not talking about a one nite stand. Yes that is immoral. Yes that is fornication. I'm talking about before the traditions of man, a marriage was a vow between 2 people and God. That made a marriage.

Guest Lucy26
If this were the case, than what would be the big deal about same sex union? Was Adam and Eve married? They didnt apply for a marriage license or see a judge or have a preacher perform a ceremony. They didnt exchange rings or have a wedding. They didnt do anything that we do now days to be considered married. When did all these traditions start? Who started them? Why cant we just vow to each other to be faithful and pray for God to bless our union? Wouldnt they still be a married? Just wondering.
