Tell the same thing to the katrina victims.

Tell them their family member died because of God punishing America because of Bush.

This thread is telling them exactly that.

I'm done.

Bash away at America and put blinders on regarding everyone else.

But Gia, that is not the same thing as saying, "this is your fault, and you deserved this because you're not a Christian." You are trying to compare two dissimilar things.

Huh? I'm confused...

Isn't God in control over nature?

Does nature have a mind of it's own and God stands back with Arms folded?

Don't agree.....

America is not at war with God.

America has not come against Jerusalem.

George Bush was trying to play the peacemaker.

America on the whole loves Isreal.

We love our brothers and sisters in Christ.

Did it occur to anyone that maybe Isreals problems come from THEIR disobedience and denial of Christ?

Giaour -

I love my country, I really do. But I can't say that America is not at war with God. School prayer, evolution mandated, curse words becoming more acceptable to say than the name of Jesus unless used as a swear word, . . . need I continue?

As for America's stand with Israel . . . I'm not so sure the majority are pro-Israel. At least, I hear more people supporting "land for peace" than those of us who say that's a crock.

As for Israel's troubles . . . it seems clear their trouble will eventually lead them to acknowledge Jesus as Messiah. However, to throw our weight in with those who seek to destroy Israel is not exactly a safe place to be. What does Ezekiel 38-39 say will happen to them? Who's side will you want to be on in that day?

See what I'm saying?

The problem is with this kind of analysis is that it is just impossible to know. We have hundreds of disasters each year if not thousands, which are from God and which are not, and how do you know the difference? What happens is people project our own prejudices and pride in the place of God

I do think God impacts in this way, don't get me wrong, but until I have solid evidence from scripture, I would withhold judgment.

I have consistantly said that it wasn't a judgement on New Orleans. It was a judgement on America that hit Gulfport MS, and destroyed the home of Senate majority leader Trent Lott. The city of New Orleans got what they've been asking for by tempting "mother earth" so long. :whistling: Is that better?

If it were a single incident, I'd be saying the same thing you are...but it isn't. And again...a White House Correspondent has chronicled since Bush's dad was President what many of us are trying to tell America and you. 14 of the 15 worst disasters in America's history (as rated by insurance companies) have happened within 24 hours of a major initiative to give Israel to God's enemies.

But you ask for scriptural evidence? Honestly...the entire Bible is replete with proven examples of this concept. There are literally dozens (if not hundreds!) of verses where God promised to carry them for His name's sake. Tell me....how seriously does He take His Name?

Here are just a few verses from Zechariah. I could get as many from almost any of the prophets.....

Zech 1: 14So the angel who was speaking with me said to me, "Proclaim, saying, 'Thus says the LORD of hosts, "I am exceedingly jealous for Jerusalem and Zion.

15"But I am very angry with the nations who are at ease; for while I was only a little angry (at Israel), they furthered the disaster."

16'Therefore thus says the LORD, "I will return to Jerusalem with compassion; My house will be built in it," declares the LORD of hosts, "and a measuring line will be stretched over Jerusalem."'

17"Again, proclaim, saying, 'Thus says the LORD of hosts, "My cities will again overflow with prosperity, and the LORD will again comfort Zion and again choose Jerusalem."'"

Zech 2:8 For thus says the LORD of hosts, "After glory He has sent me against the nations which plunder you, for he who touches you, touches the apple of His eye.

Zech 12:9 And in that day I will set about to destroy all the nations that come against Jerusalem.

Zech 13: 1 Behold, a day is coming for the LORD when the spoil taken from you will be divided among you.

2For I will gather all the nations against Jerusalem to battle, and the city will be captured, the houses plundered, the women ravished and half of the city exiled, but the rest of the people will not be cut off from the city.

3Then the LORD will go forth and fight against those nations, as when He fights on a day of battle.

4In that day His feet will stand on the Mount of Olives, which is in front of Jerusalem on the east;

Zech 14: 12 Now this will be the plague with which the LORD will strike all the peoples who have gone to war against Jerusalem; their flesh will rot while they stand on their feet, and their eyes will rot in their sockets, and their tongue will rot in their mouth.

These kinds of speculations may really hurt people

Smalcald:

God will do what He said he would do when it comes to His covenant people, Israel. He did not bring them back to the land of Israel from exile after 2,000 years, just to have the land He gave to the Jews infested with Jew hating muslims trying to murder them, with the endorsement of the American government by pushing for and endorsing a terror state inside of the heartland of Israel. God's glory and His faithfulness to His Word will be shown through Israel and to Israel as He makes His name known through them. God is sending a loud message to the governments of the world, including ours in America. They either get it or they don't. And Scripture, and America's actions toward Israel shows us we haven't gotten it, and we will suffer the consequences of our government's actions.

Best take God at His Word.. We are not the only country that will be cursed by God for messing with Israel. Look around at all the Jew hating anti-semetic nations in Europe pushing for an islamic terror state inside of Israel, and what is happening to them for supporting Israel's enemies through the UN and EU. They are being cursed with the take over by islam.

You go girl, I'm with you all the way.

Behold, I will make Jerusalem a cup of trembling unto all the people round about, when they shall be in the siege both against Judah and against Jerusalem.

And in that day will I make Jerusalem a burdensome stone for all people: all that burden themselves with it shall be cut in pieces, though all the people of the earth be gathered together against it.

Zechariah 12:2-3

God has to judge this world for what they have/have not done with the life of Jesus. He didn't send His Son to this world to end up with a world filled with iniquity of all sorts that we don't even want to mention here. He sent His Son so that people would know how to live with one another and walk with God their Father. Ultimately we are all judged by what we have done with that knowledge. God's judgments will only increase as iniquity spreads and people don't get the message.

It appears as if God is judging but yet God doesn't judge. He is only a buring love for His children. We judge ourselves by our actions. What happens as a result is simply like the law of gravity. If you drop it, it's going to fall. If you sin, it's going to catch up with you. We each have to stop sin in our lives.

If we believe that God has the ulimate control over this world then we have to acknowledge that God allowed Katrina to happen, not for one reason only but for many reasons, all of them perfect. Many things happened because of that day and many hearts were revealed. America is being judged for its decisions against Israel, but so also are individual hearts being revealed and judged. God is perfect in all His ways. We have to remember His true purpose in His judgments: to get us to turn back to Him. It's up to us to walk humbly and see where we each have failed Him and turn our lives around to honor Him.

yod, could you repost the 14 of 15 disasters that you keep referencing, please?

    • You are coming up higher in this season – above the assignments of character assassination and verbal arrows sent to manage you, contain you, and derail your purpose. Where you have had your dreams and sleep robbed, as well as your peace and clarity robbed – leaving you feeling foggy, confused, and heavy – God is, right now, bringing freedom back -- now you will clearly see the smoke and mirrors that were set to distract you and you will disengage.

Right now God is declaring a "no access zone" around you, and your enemies will no longer have any entry point into your life. Oil is being poured over you to restore the years that the locust ate and give you back your passion. This is where you will feel a fresh roar begin to erupt from your inner being, and a call to leave the trenches behind and begin your odyssey in your Christ calling moving you to bear fruit that remains as you minister to and disciple others into their Christ identity.

This is where you leave the trenches and scale the mountain to fight from a different place, from victory, from peace, and from rest. Now watch as God leads you up higher above all the noise, above all the chaos, and shows you where you have been seated all along with Him in heavenly places where you are UNTOUCHABLE. This is where you leave the soul fight, and the mind battle, and learn to fight differently.

You will know how to live like an eagle and lead others to the same place of safety and protection that God led you to, which broke you out of the silent prison you were in. Put your war boots on and get ready to fight back! Refuse to lay down -- get out of bed and rebuke what is coming at you. Remember where you are seated and live from that place.

Acts 1:8 - “But you will receive power when the Holy Spirit has come upon you, and you will be my witnesses … to the end of the earth.”

    • George Whitten, the visionary behind Worthy Ministries and Worthy News, explores the timing of the Simchat Torah War in Israel. Is this a water-breaking moment? Does the timing of the conflict on October 7 with Hamas signify something more significant on the horizon?

    • Understanding the Enemy!

I thought I write about the flip side of a topic, and how to recognize the attempts of the enemy to destroy lives and how you can walk in His victory!

For the Apostle Paul taught us not to be ignorant of enemy's tactics and strategies.

2 Corinthians 2:112  Lest Satan should get an advantage of us: for we are not ignorant of his devices.

So often, we can learn lessons by learning and playing "devil's" advocate.  When we read this passage,

Mar 3:26  And if Satan rise up against himself, and be divided, he cannot stand, but hath an end.
Mar 3:27  No man can enter into a strong man's house, and spoil his goods, except he will first bind the strongman; and then he will spoil his house.

Here we learn a lesson that in order to plunder one's house you must first BIND up the strongman.  While we realize in this particular passage this is referring to God binding up the strongman (Satan) and this is how Satan's house is plundered.  But if you carefully analyze the enemy -- you realize that he uses the same tactics on us!  Your house cannot be plundered -- unless you are first bound.   And then Satan can plunder your house!

    • Daniel: Pictures of the Resurrection, Part 3

      Shalom everyone,

As we continue this study, I'll be focusing on Daniel and his picture of the resurrection and its connection with Yeshua (Jesus).

    • Abraham and Issac: Pictures of the Resurrection, Part 2
      Shalom everyone,

As we continue this series the next obvious sign of the resurrection in the Old Testament is the sign of Isaac and Abraham.

Gen 22:1  After these things God tested Abraham and said to him, "Abraham!" And he said, "Here I am."
Gen 22:2  He said, "Take your son, your only son Isaac, whom you love, and go to the land of Moriah, and offer him there as a burnt offering on one of the mountains of which I shall tell you."

So God "tests" Abraham and as a perfect picture of the coming sacrifice of God's only begotten Son (Yeshua - Jesus) God instructs Issac to go and sacrifice his son, Issac.  Where does he say to offer him?  On Moriah -- the exact location of the Temple Mount.
