It is very simple. People are encouraged to pull pranks on people and in doing this they most always tell lies.

You know... to get strictly technical, the commandment as written states that we should not "bear false witness" against someone. Pranks don't technically fall into that category. Having said that, there is certainly a difference between "jesting" done in fun, and pulling "mean" pranks. And I certainly would agree that as Christians we ought to know the difference and avoid the latter.

For example, if I say to someone, "Hey, look! The word 'gullible' is written on the ceiling!" it's good for a laugh. I don't think God's gonna get too mad at me for it. Mild jesting is a part of a fun relationship... if I couldn't laugh at myself, what would I do with my time?

Right, it goes back to the intent of the heart. Let's not put one another in bondage over these things....especially by using Scripture incorrectly in order to do so.

Well unfortunatly I have gotten way out of hand with my Jokes and pranks again this year. I appreciate these threads that kinda put the word back in your face . helps me to realize how waxed over I get to the enemys footholds and prods and pricks in my life. I am new to Worthy but have enjoyed being here through my family and their Freinds and contacts.
