She was NOT released because of an injust sentence. She was supposed to be released in March. Her MAX was 7 yrs. She was not released in March because she STILL doesn't obey rules and had continued disciplinary violations while incarcerated. Basically...what has happened is a girl who refuses to obey authority was released back into society learning only ONE lesson...

reverse-racism is effective.

People need to get their facts straight before jumping the gun accusing people of being injust. This stupid girl could have avoided jail altogether if her militant mom had accepted the plea deal.

HA! No. I would celebrate if she had completed her ONE-YEAR term in the proper manner. As I stated before...the ONLY reason she was held beyond one year was because of her repeated disciplinary problems while incarcerated. Her mother put her in jail by refusing to sign a plea deal that would have kept her out of jail. So they played the system AND LOST, because the fact is that she broke the law by assualting someone. SO she gets to jail and has one year to get her act together. Instead she continues in her ways and refuses to obey simple rules.

You guys gonna let every black person outta jail...or just the little girls with militant moms.

A year in jail is still abhorrent given the crime in question. This is a 14-year-old girl we are talking about.

i'm with you, axx. yes, 7 years seemed harsh.... but now that more facts have surfaced, and we know that the 7 years was a maximum and that she would not have been required to serve that long, and that the mother had refused a plea bargain that would have given her daughter ONLY probation in the first place, and the fact that the girl has repeatedly been a disruptive disciplinary problem both in the school and in the correctional facility, AND that the reason she was released was because of political pressure, she should have stayed put until she had completed the 4 required levels of behavioural standards like all other kids in there have to do.

i don't see a single person here screaming about the injustice to the OTHER teen inmates who are NOT getting special treatment... you know, the ones who have to stay locked up until they complete the requirements for release.
