Should A Pastor Step Down

It is not simply fellowship. It is prayer together, worship together--numbers are important. Putting your hearts together talking to God gets His attention, for sure! He loves it.

Then there is instruction.Then there is encouragement of one another--you GIVE as well as GET. You also instruct! Then there are the offerings that you must make. There is a duty upon us that we must care for those over us in the Lord, provisionally, and we must care for the poor among us.

We need to meet together! Otherwise we get a bit weird, as our pastor says, and he is right.

There is no place in the Kingdom of God for lone ranger Christians. They get overlooked when the gifting is handed out, because they can't be trusted to obey, because they aren't coming under God's authority...just their very own.

This post so is wrong on so many levels, I'm even not going to bother breaking it down. This place seems to be your playground and you have very many supporters here.

No wonder you feel the great need for women leaders in churches.

My need for women leaders? No--God needs them. He makes leaders out of every yielded heart--male OR female. He makes no distinction. For you to make distinction makes you set apart from Him.

I don't have to agree with them all, but I do respect them all.

I'm not sure how to help my friends (or myself) get through

this trying time, but much prayer is needed.

This Pastor wasn't only a Bible College teacher to me (and many others).

He is also a friend. His wife and children are also my friends.

What do you think about him not stepping down as Pastor?

The man is a disgrace and if he doesn't step down, the board needs to let him go ASAP. This is a no-brainer.

I agree 100% When Jimmy Swaggart admitted to his affair the Assembly Of God board said he needed to step down for a year, get counseling and so on. He refused. The next thing we knew he was caught not far from where I live in his white Rolls, with a hooker and a back seat full of dirty books. Instead of being obedient he did things his way and was pridefull He got into worse trouble. No this man needs to go. He could hurt a lot of people.

Well the man should shouldnt even have a choice. My mothers church is going through a similar problem except the pastor there had the nerve to RUN! He up and left telling only one member of the church!

From everything I've read that Jesus taught, one sin is no worse than another, and this includes entertaining thoughts of sinning. It wouldn't be a bad idea if he took a break until he took care of his personal marriage issues. As far as him now being condemned by everyone here, "..in what measure you use...", keep that in mind everytime you judge someone.

Of course you know that doesn't apply to churches who are supposed to discipline, and judge in righteousness. We, as believers are to judge for sin as well, but not to condemn with a critical spirit.
