:) I agree. I love pictures of musical instruments since they themselves are works of art.

Well then, I shall try find some more intruments to photograph and see how they look!

I'm sure we have some type of saxaphone and a guitar somewhere...

I agree: I LOVE the piano closeup...but I think my vote for first place would have to be the Girl on Fence.

Hmm...I should really organize some of my photos in an online album...maybe I'll get on that. Mine are mostly of trees (I LOVE photographing trees) and buildings and such, 'cause I'm not really brave enough to get into photographing random people yet: I'm always afraid that they won't like me doing it or that I simply won't do them justice.

Yeah I do like the girl on the fence photo (who is actually my ex-girlfriend for curiosities sake). I'm hoping to do more people photos soon when I can because, as you can see, I mainly focus on nature or general inanimate objects.

You should join Flickr, 'tis a pretty nifty place to organising and arranging photos!

Anyone here into photography? I am and have just discovered a nifty little website dedicated for hosting people's photographs. So I've uploaded a whole bunch of my photography that I've taken in my spare time as just a hobby.

Feel free to take a look: http://www.flickr.com/photos/mrluke/

If you're a member there already, add me as a contact if you like, or comment on the photos (or do both!)

I'm not selling anything here, so I hope this is ok to post just as general interest and stuff?

yep, use to be into it..... still have my old camera gear.... dont have my dark room anymore, sold all that equipment..... use to make my livin' doing that stuff.....

no fun with the digital stuff.... anyone can be one now, and not have a clue as to what an F-STOP is or what an APATURE SETTING is.... much less how to PUSH FILM (using 400 film and pushing it to 1600 (developing process))..... Zoom Lenses, Fish Eye lens, or even Infared photograghy ( i still have my infared flash gear, good for about 25 foot in total darkness and all the person would see is a slight red bleep if they happened to be looking directly at the flash.....

had fun with special effects, both on site and in the dark room, using premade filters and making my own with an idea that might come to mind ( wasted several easels due to salt in the dark room)

not too many people know about Silver Bromide...... those days have pretty much gone by the way side...

how many people have made their own camera???? I DID....... it worked, was not the best camera to have but it did work.....

one of my buddies, has a Horseman.... loverly camera..... large format film.... single shot, no motor drive.... took a shot of an orchid with a drop of dew hanging from it, and if you look at the drop of dew, (close up shot) you can see the reflection of the camera and him in it...... took about 15 minutes to set that shot......

have had several of my shots take prizes.....

now, with the digital age, my sister and her husband do single shots, they make their living with them, and they do not sell the same shot twice, no duplicate pictures...... if a person purchases one, they can be assured that they have an original and no one else will ever have the same picture..... these photos can be as small as a 4x6 ( or even wallet if they choose) as large as a sofa picture ( 24" x 48" ) maybe even larger.....

anyways..... photo time is fun time....

mike

Yes the digital age has killed a few old trades and all the secrets and skills that went with them, but at the same time digital has come with its own set of skills that need mastering also. I do appreciate the type of photography you talk about, I even have a manual camera of my own that I'm reserving for some nice black and white shots I got planned in my head!

mike

Cool :noidea: ThoughI don't suppose it will be anytime soon that I can or will be crossing the Pond, but I'll bear that offer in mind!

And thanks for all the other comments from everyone else- very encouraging! I've decided to set up a blog thing here: http://theblogofmrluke.blogspot.com that I will update when I upload new photos and will be just posting random ideas for upcoming things I got planned (already got something in mind for a summer photoshoot - it's on the blog)

Hey Luke!

I am the KeilanS referred to in the first reply, I saw photography in the title and it caught my attention.

You have some very nice shots! I quite like what you did with the water, I have tried to do some neat water-effects shots but never had any luck (I just can't seem to get my shutter speed high enough to freeze the water like you do). I also really like the close ups of the saxophone! And judging by your self-pictures, I'm not the only one that loves to play with slow shutter speeds.

I'm not so good at that kind of shot, I prefer nature and bird stuff personally (I've tried to take close-ups of course, but they just don't turn out like yours :whistling: )

As for posting them, Flickr is definately a good choice. I like to use my blog to do it because it lets me post text and non-photography stuff along with the pictures. (The link is in my signature). Or if you don't feel like looking through my rather large blog, here is a collage I made of some of my stuff!

God Bless,

Keilan

Edit: I just realized that you do have a blog as well! (I love the piano shot by the way! It makes you feel like you're just being sucked into the picture)

    • You are coming up higher in this season – above the assignments of character assassination and verbal arrows sent to manage you, contain you, and derail your purpose. Where you have had your dreams and sleep robbed, as well as your peace and clarity robbed – leaving you feeling foggy, confused, and heavy – God is, right now, bringing freedom back -- now you will clearly see the smoke and mirrors that were set to distract you and you will disengage.

Right now God is declaring a "no access zone" around you, and your enemies will no longer have any entry point into your life. Oil is being poured over you to restore the years that the locust ate and give you back your passion. This is where you will feel a fresh roar begin to erupt from your inner being, and a call to leave the trenches behind and begin your odyssey in your Christ calling moving you to bear fruit that remains as you minister to and disciple others into their Christ identity.

This is where you leave the trenches and scale the mountain to fight from a different place, from victory, from peace, and from rest. Now watch as God leads you up higher above all the noise, above all the chaos, and shows you where you have been seated all along with Him in heavenly places where you are UNTOUCHABLE. This is where you leave the soul fight, and the mind battle, and learn to fight differently.

You will know how to live like an eagle and lead others to the same place of safety and protection that God led you to, which broke you out of the silent prison you were in. Put your war boots on and get ready to fight back! Refuse to lay down -- get out of bed and rebuke what is coming at you. Remember where you are seated and live from that place.

Acts 1:8 - “But you will receive power when the Holy Spirit has come upon you, and you will be my witnesses … to the end of the earth.”

    • George Whitten, the visionary behind Worthy Ministries and Worthy News, explores the timing of the Simchat Torah War in Israel. Is this a water-breaking moment? Does the timing of the conflict on October 7 with Hamas signify something more significant on the horizon?

    • Understanding the Enemy!

I thought I write about the flip side of a topic, and how to recognize the attempts of the enemy to destroy lives and how you can walk in His victory!

For the Apostle Paul taught us not to be ignorant of enemy's tactics and strategies.

2 Corinthians 2:112  Lest Satan should get an advantage of us: for we are not ignorant of his devices.

So often, we can learn lessons by learning and playing "devil's" advocate.  When we read this passage,

Mar 3:26  And if Satan rise up against himself, and be divided, he cannot stand, but hath an end.
Mar 3:27  No man can enter into a strong man's house, and spoil his goods, except he will first bind the strongman; and then he will spoil his house.

Here we learn a lesson that in order to plunder one's house you must first BIND up the strongman.  While we realize in this particular passage this is referring to God binding up the strongman (Satan) and this is how Satan's house is plundered.  But if you carefully analyze the enemy -- you realize that he uses the same tactics on us!  Your house cannot be plundered -- unless you are first bound.   And then Satan can plunder your house!

    • Daniel: Pictures of the Resurrection, Part 3

      Shalom everyone,

As we continue this study, I'll be focusing on Daniel and his picture of the resurrection and its connection with Yeshua (Jesus).

    • Abraham and Issac: Pictures of the Resurrection, Part 2
      Shalom everyone,

As we continue this series the next obvious sign of the resurrection in the Old Testament is the sign of Isaac and Abraham.

Gen 22:1  After these things God tested Abraham and said to him, "Abraham!" And he said, "Here I am."
Gen 22:2  He said, "Take your son, your only son Isaac, whom you love, and go to the land of Moriah, and offer him there as a burnt offering on one of the mountains of which I shall tell you."

So God "tests" Abraham and as a perfect picture of the coming sacrifice of God's only begotten Son (Yeshua - Jesus) God instructs Issac to go and sacrifice his son, Issac.  Where does he say to offer him?  On Moriah -- the exact location of the Temple Mount.
