Why would God allow it to last forever when he was against some tribes in the OT for "burning their children in the fire". Doesn't that make God a hypocrit?.... You know,... do as I say, not as I do.

God's desire is that none perish. When He created us in His likness and image He gave us freewill choice, and He will never impose His will over ours. The truth is that we all deserve to burn in hell forever for what we did to His Son Jesus. It was the sins of all of us that crucified Him. But God in His love, mercy, and grace made a way for us to take back what Adam, and Eve gave away in the garden. So it's not something God wants is what each person of thier own freewill choose.

Our earthly bodies are very finite, yes, but our spirits are not. If we choose to reject God in our finite bodies, then our eternal spirit will not be with Him after our finite bodies are gone.

This is my answer to the original post.

Life is what you see hear feel touch. The only part of Life that is invisable is the ONE who holds it together.

Death is what you see when. the spirit of life is taken from the body and the soul dies And the body begins to corupt. (rot)

Death is separation from Life. nonexistant. nothingness not here anymore.

The wages of sin is death. eternal, forever.

the Lake of fire or coralled lightning fire, Is just a way of getting there for those who are the body of the devil at the return of CHRIST.

The rest get there by the hand of their neighbor before Christ returns.

The Promise For those who are worthy to obtain it. is the resurection back to LIFE.

In the twinkling of an eye like a flash of Lightning Shining from the east to the west at CHRISTS return.

The tourment is when you end up standing on the wrong side at CHRISTS return. There will be wailing and knashing of teeth.

The wages of sin is eternal. everything else will pass.

Hell is absolutely eternal, anyone who says different is either ignorant of what the Bible stays and honestly doesn't know or is just twisting scriptures to mean something that they want to mean. Even if this is the case, I am not even sure which scriptures CAN be twisted. It meens fairly straight forward to me.
