And you think it is probably the most unattractive baby you ever saw....what do you answer? I know we don't want to make people feel bad about themself, the same thing can count for a haircut, cloths everything. Also how do we act in company who denies the Lord,like at work or it could be anywhere? I know I felt horrible before, because before you know you say something you shouldn't. Nothing can be hid from God. Therefore take up the whole armor of God, that you may be able to withstand in the evil day, and having done all, to stand firm. Stand therefore, having fastened on the belt of truth, and having put on the breastplate of righteousness, and, as shoes for your feet, having put on the readiness given by the gospel of peace. In all circumstances take up the shield of faith, with which you can extinguish all the flaming darts of the evil one; and take the helmet of salvation, and the sword of the Spirit, which is the word of God, praying at all times in the Spirit, with all prayer and supplication (Ephesians 6:13-18a). How is our tongue? Can we keep that in check? Did you examine yourself? We can't fool God! I'm reading thru II Kings right now and one of the kings wanted to get rid of all the Baal worshipers, so he tricked them into coming to a big worship fest. They all came and he gave orders to kill all those devil worshipers. That was " lying" so to speak, so is that okay? Another example, during WW II, people would lie to save the lives of hidden Jews or the resistance spys that were hiding out. So in some instances is lying okay? As for being asked silly things like " is that the cutest baby" ALL babies are beutiful in the sight of God so how is that telling a lie ? You can be truthful without being hurtful and it can be VERY hurtful to tell someone that they look great if in fact what they are wearing /doing doesnt become them at all ....a true friend can tell them how to make things better and shouldnt lie to them Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...

We are all precious in the sight of God, and we all have some form of beauty within ourselves, which will include the baby. Call him/her beautiful. Hi Ladypeartree, Your are right; I asked another Christian and that person said that protecting someone with a lie comes under self defense. That certainly makes sense!
