God is the ONLY judge of us ...what we do or say MUST be to His glory so if we need to lie in order to protect those He would have us reach out to in love then I am ok with that ..I will look the devil in the eye and lie through my teeth if I think that is what God wants me to do.

As for being asked silly things like " is that the cutest baby" ALL babies are beutiful in the sight of God so how is that telling a lie ? :20:

You can be truthful without being hurtful and it can be VERY hurtful to tell someone that they look great if in fact what they are wearing /doing doesnt become them at all ....a true friend can tell them how to make things better and shouldnt lie to them

Great post, Lynn :20:

I hate lies (as my daughter will tell you)....although I sometimes succumb to them myself for various reasons.....not very often, though.

In fact, I hate all falseness.

But if I were a resistance fighter in Nazi occupied France, I think that yes, I would lie, rather than betray a Jew to their Nazi murderers.....the lesser of two evils....

I try not to speak with flattering lips, though.

There's no need.

God being the Father of understanding of this world. The stumbling block of evil in this world, and what it takes for His children, to run their true race, and succeed as the free, and justified creatures that He intended. Makers and keepers of peace. As much as the world begs to differ. Being strong in our faith, to overcome evil with the Truth, with it's eventual steadfastness that abides with the Lord.

Rom 3:4 God forbid: yea, let God be true, but every man a liar; as it is written, That thou mightest be justified in thy sayings, and mightest overcome when thou art judged.

Tts 2:7 In all things shewing thyself a pattern of good works: in doctrine [shewing] uncorruptness, gravity, sincerity,

Rom 12:21 Be not overcome of evil, but overcome evil with good.

Then said I, Woe is me! for I am undone; because I am a man of unclean lips, and I dwell in the midst of a people of unclean lips: for mine eyes have seen the King, the LORD of hosts.

God would NEVER require you to lie and He especially would not "want" you to lie. God said that the devil is the father of lies. God said a kingdom cannot be divided against itself.

There are tactful ways around lying without being deceptive. Deception is of the devil.

In the case of the cute baby:

You could say "a baby is a baby, yours looks like a baby". There are MANY ways out of lying.

You could change the subject to avoid lying, if need be.

Most people are very good at picking up hints.

It's vanity to underestimate people's ability to do this. You're thinking you're wiser or more perceptive than they.

Do you think they can't hear the lie, either? Lot's of people can.

It's wrong to judge(mis-judge) people's ability to percieve lies. It only makes you look bad in the end.

Hbr 10:24 And let us consider one another to provoke unto love and to good works:

Eze 8:17 Then he said unto me, Hast thou seen [this], O son of man? Is it a light thing to the house of Judah that they commit the abominations which they commit here? for they have filled the land with violence, and have returned to provoke me to anger: and, lo, they put the branch to their nose.

    • You are coming up higher in this season – above the assignments of character assassination and verbal arrows sent to manage you, contain you, and derail your purpose. Where you have had your dreams and sleep robbed, as well as your peace and clarity robbed – leaving you feeling foggy, confused, and heavy – God is, right now, bringing freedom back -- now you will clearly see the smoke and mirrors that were set to distract you and you will disengage.

Right now God is declaring a "no access zone" around you, and your enemies will no longer have any entry point into your life. Oil is being poured over you to restore the years that the locust ate and give you back your passion. This is where you will feel a fresh roar begin to erupt from your inner being, and a call to leave the trenches behind and begin your odyssey in your Christ calling moving you to bear fruit that remains as you minister to and disciple others into their Christ identity.

This is where you leave the trenches and scale the mountain to fight from a different place, from victory, from peace, and from rest. Now watch as God leads you up higher above all the noise, above all the chaos, and shows you where you have been seated all along with Him in heavenly places where you are UNTOUCHABLE. This is where you leave the soul fight, and the mind battle, and learn to fight differently.

You will know how to live like an eagle and lead others to the same place of safety and protection that God led you to, which broke you out of the silent prison you were in. Put your war boots on and get ready to fight back! Refuse to lay down -- get out of bed and rebuke what is coming at you. Remember where you are seated and live from that place.

Acts 1:8 - “But you will receive power when the Holy Spirit has come upon you, and you will be my witnesses … to the end of the earth.”

    • Understanding the Enemy!

I thought I write about the flip side of a topic, and how to recognize the attempts of the enemy to destroy lives and how you can walk in His victory!

For the Apostle Paul taught us not to be ignorant of enemy's tactics and strategies.

2 Corinthians 2:112  Lest Satan should get an advantage of us: for we are not ignorant of his devices.

So often, we can learn lessons by learning and playing "devil's" advocate.  When we read this passage,

Mar 3:26  And if Satan rise up against himself, and be divided, he cannot stand, but hath an end.
Mar 3:27  No man can enter into a strong man's house, and spoil his goods, except he will first bind the strongman; and then he will spoil his house.

Here we learn a lesson that in order to plunder one's house you must first BIND up the strongman.  While we realize in this particular passage this is referring to God binding up the strongman (Satan) and this is how Satan's house is plundered.  But if you carefully analyze the enemy -- you realize that he uses the same tactics on us!  Your house cannot be plundered -- unless you are first bound.   And then Satan can plunder your house!

    • Abraham and Issac: Pictures of the Resurrection, Part 2
      Shalom everyone,

As we continue this series the next obvious sign of the resurrection in the Old Testament is the sign of Isaac and Abraham.

Gen 22:1  After these things God tested Abraham and said to him, "Abraham!" And he said, "Here I am."
Gen 22:2  He said, "Take your son, your only son Isaac, whom you love, and go to the land of Moriah, and offer him there as a burnt offering on one of the mountains of which I shall tell you."

So God "tests" Abraham and as a perfect picture of the coming sacrifice of God's only begotten Son (Yeshua - Jesus) God instructs Issac to go and sacrifice his son, Issac.  Where does he say to offer him?  On Moriah -- the exact location of the Temple Mount.
