Guest dove2
If you don't have grape juice at home or wafers or whatever, a small piece of cracker and even water will suffice. Didn't Jesus turn the water into wine? Just one of those fleeting thoughts. Actually we have used crackers and water before.

Yes, the kind you eat, ie:non molded variety, although in a pinch.... For a special treat, see Pac-Man taking communion:

The important thing is you take communion with a clear concious. If you are living in sin pass it bye or you make a mockery of GOD.

Is it because of a scriptural ordinance? I have seen nowhere in the Nt that states so. Not to argue, but I really am curious about this and haven't studied to extensively on it. Any help is appreciated! Thanks In the Old Testament God commanded the children of Israel to bake unleavened bread in preparation for the Passover. You can see many examples in the Old and New Testaments where unleavened bread is mentioned. Leavening represents something that is foriegn and impure. The Lord used unleavened bread at His last supper, and, although the Scriptures do not state implicitely, it is likely that the apostles ate unleavened bread as they continued by the Lord's words to "Do this often in rememberance of me." Guest Rufus of Cyrene
I grew up in a congregation that, by custom, used matzoh (sp?). They weren't really dogmatic about it, though. My wife and I attend a congregation where they use good ol' Wonder bread because the head of the local grocery wholesaler donates the outdated loaves.
