Shilo I agree with most of what you have said. But please clarify something for me. Do you think that if adam and eve ate from the tree of life once then they would have eternal life? It seems to me that is your thinking. That all one has to do is eat from the tree of life once and one will never die?

Could it be that that the fruit of the tree of life must be ate regularly to maintain eternal life? It seems to me that adam would have eaten from the tree of life and i'm sure eve would have also because they where free to do so. This leads me to think that the effect of eating from the tree of life will wear off if one stops eating from it? What do you think?

Adstar they did eat of the fruit from the tree of life before they ate from the tree of the knowledge of good and evil...it was after that God did not want them to eat of it any more....before Adam and Eve ate of the tree of the knowledge of good and evil Adam and Eve would have lived for ever but because of sin God did not allow them the eat of the tree of life to live forever in their sin....Does that make sense?

I think that this fruit did not have to be eaten to maintain eternal life it was just one of the fruits that they could eat without having an effect on them because they were already living eternally. It was not in God's plan to have this so it was all changed when the fruit from the tree of the knowledge of good and evil was eaten. And then the tree of life was forbidden for ever...or until we get to heaven. What do you think is the tree of life in heaven and will be one of the fruit trees that we will be able to eat from?

The Bible say's that we are all going to live forever, either in heaven or in hell. So I think that what God was protecting them from was living forever in their sinful flesh.
